Any advice on singing better? I don't think I have a singing voice, and I never took lessons or anything, but I wanna know if theres any good way to sound decent?

Do a lot of humming! loosens your vocal chords. Also, Take a note on your guitar, and try to match it the best you can.

Hmmmm, i'll try that. Although I can't really find notes by ear so I dunno if I'll be able to match the notes.

Buy yourself a good instructional book, or get lessons. Sure it costs money, but it would be well worth it if you really want to do something with it.

Listen to alot of different Genre songs..and find what voice you can sing the best in...any band that has a singer that you sing along with perfectly...that may be it...just stay in that mindset..I can sing the Plain White T's style of singing.

I never recorded myself singing cause i'm afraid to know what I sound like so I don't really even know how I sound, but my speaking voice is crap. lol. When I sing with a song I sound fine but thats cause the singers voice makes me sound normal.

Few things you can do. First is try and copy someone's sound. Since you say you don't match pitch so well, that may not work out. That leads us to option two: making your own style. This is nice and gives your band a bit of a quirk, but it may have determental effects on your throat.
Regardless of how you sing, make sure it's from your diaphragm. Here's how you make sure you are doing this. Sit up straight. Now take in a breath so that your stomach moves out. It'll give you a fuller breath and support your sound better. This'll probably take some getting used to, but in the long run, it's worth it.

One thing to note, not many people like their own voice. John Lennon hated his voice, so in his headphones while he was singing, they always added an echo or some effect.
Though, I'm sure as you develop, it'll become less of a problem.

How would you go about applying a voice effect, like a PC program with a USB mic?

I'd assume you just run the mic's cable through the effect before you run it to the soundboard.
