Who's gonna rock the place...

Hey, is it just me, or has Archie improved a ton lately on their Sonic comics? They did a /great/ job with 173, and are finally turning Sally back into a good person.

It's about time they got back on track. heart What, did they hire a new staff, or what?

They let fan writer Ian Flynn be head writer on the book, rather than Ken "The Ego That Ate Maronmeck!" Penders. It helps.

When they bring in fans, they're bringing in people who cut their teeth on this stuff, genuinely know it and know what people like to see - as opposed to people who don't have a clue about the continuity or the characters (witness that artist a few years back who couldn't grasp why the readers got antsy with him after he drew Tails with only one tail) and who're doing it out of either purely financial motivations or to further their own publicity.

I liked it as much as any other Snoic comic, and the cover art was neat too. 3nodding I'm a Spaz fan... whee

Not sure I agree much with the cover thing. It's well drawn, yes, but....not sure if "lazy" is the right word to say here, but Spaz has done better covers. I guess the guy's been pretty busy with other stuff, or really cramped for time on this issue (or both)?

On a side note, I almost mistook it for Tracey Yardley's work; odd. oo;

But anyway, yeah, glad to see the story getting back into the groove of things. Been missing that old-school freedom fighter action (partially due to the SatAM dvd XP), and I'm curious to see how the whole Egg Fleet thing goes.

I agree fully!! Potto/yardley combination gives it that old-school and newschool feel,but they dont fudge around with it to the point where it's just a big soap opera.Like adding bean and bark,I wasnt expecting that in the big 160.But anyways 173 was awesome,I loved the artwork and all.
