It has become apparent that there are plenty of people in this guild that don't even read the bible. Unless you're here to learn more about Christianity, why would you be here if you don't even read the bible?

I do not read The Bible all that much, thought I read it from time to time in small portions. One of the main reasons why I came here in the past week is because I wanted to share my religion with others in my religion and maybe listen to what they have to say, so I may become more knowledgeable about my religion, God's plan for me, The Bible, etc.

There are many different reasons why people come to this site. And some of them will have not read the Bible, not everyone reads the whole thing over and over. People want to live in the moment and look back and laugh at themselves for acting strangely. I can say that I came here a Christian but now I am not so sure about my religion because right now I don't really know exactly what to look at. I have read the Bible, about three times in my life...or maybe more, I have no idea. But I have read many different versions of it and I have read about all the different religions I could think of, and none of them have a Bible really. Some may have something that they refer to as a Bible, but they do not have something that has been recreated and/ or written throughout time. Christians know their religion and in a time in everyone's life they think about their religion and start to get curious about how it works and so much like that. I have had almost a year to think about it and my parents are telling me that until I am 18 what they choose for me goes. So technically I am still a total Christian. People who do read the Bible must have a LOT of time on their hands... I had strong faith at one time, and it is coming back again, but I'm not sure if I totally believe in all the things the Bible says, so I don't exactly have TOTAL faith. But I still have some.

Hey.
As Christians we SHOULD read the bible EVERYDAY right?
I mean, its the most efficient way that God talks to you. And It helps you grow better.
Cmmon, Its God talking to you.
And reading it is not just flipping random pages.
For those who havent even started their QT (quiet time), I suggest James. Its a good start.

Don't forget this is a public guild and is open to everyone (as far as I know). Nonetheless, I agree with theskyiscrying. Here we can share our walk with God and ask for prayer, help, give advice, etc. It's like a small group! smile 3nodding chickenlipsRfun2eat Hey.

I agree with this. It's also a good idea to have a bible with a concordance, and to have a bible dictionary. A good website you should check out is biblegateway.com. As an aside, I think a good book to start with is Matthew Mark, Luke, or John.

Good question. I am a Christian. I read my Bible. I am currently studying for a Master's in Divinity. But, I don't know why?

That was the point. If we start delineating certain spiritual problems from others as reasons why someone 'shouldn't' be part of the guild, then we should at least be biblically consistent.

A christian MUST read their bible continually, it's our survival guide! Do you know why pastors read their bibles everyday and sometimes for more than an hour? It's not becaus they're all "holy" It's because they know that reading their bible is how they grow spiritually and gain faith. Another thing that is equally important is building up your spirit by praying in the Holy Spirit.
