I really don't want to offend anyone...
But I am curious to know if anyone else doesn't really... well, like getting Christianity shoved down the throat ( as in, against the will rather than volentarily).
I am not saying I don't like to practice Christianity, because I do, But I really... REALLY dislike it when people tell me what I am doing wrong and how I'm condemned to a life in Hell, etc.
Like, at school i usually wear all black. Not because I'm a devil worshipper or anything, Just because I like th color. I wear heavy make out, same thing... I like to express myself that way. I'm totally out there. But people think that isn't such a Christian thing to do, but what I'm trying to do is be different. They are trying to make me normal. I was born to be different.
I hope i didn't offend anyone. Maybe I'm just trying to get across to everyone that... I'm a teenager. We don't like things being shoved down our throats. It's like a kid with cough medicine. Maybe not quite, but you get my point.

I've never really been in that situation, but I know what you mean. I don't think people should judge you by the way you dress or anything like that. I think you should make sure people know that you are a good person. You don't have to change your personality or become "normal" as you put it. But just be nice to people and make sure they know that there isn't anything wrong with you.

People think that change is bad and often condemn it. Especially when the feel uneasy about that change. the Dark, Emo, and Goth look are associated with people who are against the system and often involved with a questionable crowd. That says nothing about the people wearing that look but stereotyping is a major part of being human and a part of the world's culture.

Well, I'm a pretty devout Christian and black is a favorite color of mine too, even at church but yet, I'm not being condemned because of that since the people around me know my heart. So in other words, what Christians should understand is that it's not about what's on the outside but what's on the inside that counts wink . A simple cliche saying that I always like using is "Never judge a book by it's cover," and I feel that the condemning Christians out there are just immediately assuming, pointing fingers, and stereotyping and just not teaching out of love as they should, since it's really God who decides those matters based on our hearts 3nodding .

Is dragging an unconscious body toward a locker. "Well, we had a few people try and argue the point but... a bit of civilized conversation was all it took to convince them to change their ways." Slings the body into the locker and then quickly slams the door.

I have felt that way several times. but not for the way I dress. I have always dressed conservativly(sp) and with bright colors. I understand that christian's are being watched by everyone and have a profile to keep up and keep people interested in our faith. but I rather concern that towards personal behavior and attitude. not towards clothing, occupation or hobbies(unless extreme).
my parents are pastors and I have been forced to go to church on many occasions. personally, I say after 18 I should be able to go wherever I want to. but my dad said not as long as I live in his house. that rule sucks, but after 18 I have a choice to make and I chose to move out. I think my dad was right to do that because it is his house and I am now an adult.
if there was an issue before I was 18 that would be different, but there never was.
I have had chrsitian friends who would constantly try to coerce me to go to bible studies and prayer meetings. they would make me feel pressured and I hated that. After I said no the first 3 times they should have let it go. besides when I want to go to bible study I will pick up my bible and go, I mean if I really want a praise session I wiill start my own... so why would someone harrass me over the issue? does that ever happen to anyone? I thin it is just the type of person I was dealing with. some people are too pushy no matter what faith.
