Ari peered up at the sky as she walked through the grass in the front of the compound. It was rather cloudy today and the air was a little chilled. She shivered in her violet sweatshirt. It wasn't her choice of days to go running about outside but...Ina had wanted to come visit. So she had consented reluctantly. And much to her surprise Eira, Ari's gyrfalcon companion, had shown a desire to come along as well. So this was what prevented Ari from hugging herself, the large bird perching contentedly on her left arm.
Ina was rather used to Eira at this point, since she lived with the bird. That didn't mean she hadn't spent 15 minutes giggling and touching Eira's feathers when they got here, but her facination had quickly worn of. So she went to explore the grounds instead, under both Ari and Eira's careful eyes. Not that she really cared. Grown-ups worried too much. She'd be just fine! She started peeking around bushes and trees, looking for something interesting to do.

Tristan was trying to think the reason he kept Dmitri around. Originally he thought he could babysit for him, but every time Tristan asked Dmitri suddenly had a reason to make himself scarce. So now when he sould have been working on his paper, he was out with Holden. Not that he didn't absolutely love Holden but he needed to work at some point...
Holden on the other hand was happy to be out with his father, being with Tristan and not in the apartment didn't happen all that often. He would run ahead and look around before running back to Tristan and pulling on his hand trying to make him go faster.
One of the times he ran a head however he noticed Ina and stopped. She was new and she had a tail and ears just like his puppy! Still a little shy he didn't go over to her, just watched.

It looks like we have some company, Eira told Ari informatively. Her gold eyes fixed acutely in the direction of Holden and Tristen, able to see them with her brillion vision. Ari turned her head, trying to see exactly who she was talking about. "Mm...who is it?" she wondered allowed, though the distance made it rather hard to see for certain. Ina was far closer then she or Eira. I suppose I must do everything, the gyrfalcon said simply before spreading her large wings. With an expert leap she took flight, catching the air drafts and riding them in the direction of the raccoon boy and his guardian.
Eira wasn't the only one with good senses. But Ina's seemed far more focused on sound. Her ears twisted behind her as she heard someone coming. Hmm? Had momma found something fun? When she turned, blinking her canine eyes she saw something far different. At little boy. And he had a fluffy just like her. "Ooooo!" she cried enthusiastically, wagging her tail vibrently before rushing over to her fellow toddler, "You have a fluffy too!"

Holden was taken aback by Ina's energy as she came rushing over to him. A little frieghtened at first really, he took a step back and looked her over before she realized that she was talking about. He nodded slowly and swung his tail back and forth as a response but keeping silent like he always did.
Tristan had gotten distracted from his son by Eira. When he couldn't make out what it was at first he cursed himself for forgeting his binoculars. Even though birds weren't part of his studies he loved all animals in general and rather enjoyed bird watching.

"Wow, yours is long!" Ina noted with admiration, wagging her tail unconciously as she looked at it closely, bending over and putting her face within 4 inches of the boy boys tail. "And it has rings!" Wow, his fluffy was much different then hers! Though she'd never trade her amazing fluffy, his was pretty nice!
Luckily for Tristan, Eira was quite used to humans and the reason she had took flight in the first place was to check out exactly who their company was. So the gyrfalcon landed gracefully upon a tree only about 10 feet from the man, folding her white and black wings carefully and peering at him with sharp, gold eyes. It appears to be another guardian, Eira told Ari through their soul-link.

The little raccoon was rather amused by the attention he was getting. Even if he acted shy when he first met people he adored attention. He swung his tail back and forth some more and gentally flicked it in her face to tickle her.
Tristan smiled when he saw Eira and walked a little closer to the tree where she was perched. Still not knowing it was a tame bird he moved slowly and carefully so not to frieghten it.

Eira was quickly bored with this game of waiting. How dull humans could be! She took flight with a great sweap of her white wings, soaring off to Ari who had been walking slowly in their direction. Eira knew she was earthbound, but goodness, could she move any slower? She landed with a flurry of feathers upon Ari's shoulders, clicking her beak and settling down. She wasn't going to entertain another guardian. That, quite frankly, was Ari's job.
Ina squealed, half in pleasure half in dismay as her skin prickled and crawled at the touch of his fur. She reached out blindly with purple fingers, trying to catch him to make him stop, "Stop! Eehehehe! Stop!" Her giggles overwelmed her speach within moments.

Holden laughed a little himself, this was amusing. He stopped though, when she asked him to. He didn't want to lose his new friend after all. He held his tail still and just smiled at her.
No longer having a bird to look at Tristan turned his attention back to the boy. Well it seemed as if Holden had made a new friend, which was good. Just because Tristan never got out and had few friends doesn't mean Holden had to be that way.

Ina flicked her ears, rubbing her nose with a purple fist as she settled down her giggles. She then peered her gold eyes open, looking at Holden with curiousity. "Can you talk?" she asked thoughtfully. Not that she minded so much. She just wondered why he hadn't said anything yet. Even Osha talked more, and he was quiet guy.
Ari finally managed to catch up with her violet charge. She bent down next to the two children, not that she had to do so much due to her short height. "Who's your new friend Ina?" she asked with a smile, shifting her shoulders slightly so Eira wouldn't tip forward.

Holden nodded, he could talk, he could talk fine. It didn't occur to him that now would be a good time to demonstrate this ability, after all a nod was all he needed to answer so he stayed silent.
Holden took a tiny step back at Ary's approach. He was a little shy, though he tended to warm up quickly, for now he would be bashful, especially since Ary was a full person and not a kid. But she had something what would get Holden to like her a little faster than most adults... the bird. When she bent down Holden's eyes went straight to the bird on her shoulder. He liked birds, feathers were pretty... he didn't even pay attention to the adult's question, forgetting he had yet to introduce himself.
Tristan in his spacey sort of watching, other things repeatedly drawing his attention away didn't notice Ary at first. But once he did he thought he might as well make his way over, he liked meeting the guardians and trying to make friends. When he got closer he did much the same as his little boy his eyes went to the bird at first, but he managed to pull his eyes away, or at least long enough to say "Hello."

"Dunno, he says he can talk but he hasn't yet," Ina explained to her mother simply. She frowned a little as Holden seemed to be more interested in the bird then in her. Suuuure, Eira was cool and all, but not when it was stealing her potential friends!
Eira preened under the attention, ignoring it for the most part. She wasn't a very social bird and while she was used to being admired, she didn't much like it. "You like her?" Ari asked Holden with a small smile, "Her names Eira. She's a gyrfalcon." Seeing that someone else was coming over she stood back up, not that it made a big difference due to her height. "Hello, I'm guessing he's yours...?" she asked motioning gently to the racoon boy.

Holden nodded vigorously when asked if he liked the bird. He seemed to take quite a lot after Tristan even if they weren't really related. At least the man's likes and dislikes were rubbing off on the boy. Holden loved animals.
"Yeah, My Holden" Tristan replied with a smile, and then, like his son his eyes went to the bird. He stared for a minute, admiring it before he released what he was doing. Blushing a little he held out his hand to shake "I'm Tristan Kane."
