*sigh*
Ok, l bought, installed, set up and downloaded the newest patches.
But l use windows vista, so l had to set it so that it ran as an administrator or seomthing like that.
Now, when l try to play, it downloads the updates, right after l sign in.
Then it restarts it, and this OTHER downloaded starts up.
But l called Blizzard and the person whom talk to me said l DID NOT have to download anything else.
Please explain to me what l have to do to use this game.
I have downloaded it from several sites, and reinstalled it several.
It didnt Prompt anything after l downloaded and applyed the patch.
I go to play the game and it says that l have to download the newest updates.
So l let it download to 100% and it says to click a button and restart WoW.
I click there and it shuts down WoW and this new thing pops up.
It wants to download patches.
But the guy whom l talked to at Blizzard said that l didnt have to download anything else.

I have no experience with Windows Vista, so if that's your problem, this won't help you at all. But this is what I would do, in your position: uninstall WoW, make sure there is nothing on your PC WoW-related. Reinstall. Do not let it start downloading patches. Go to http://a.wirebrain.de/wow/, & scroll way down to the bottom to "Full Patch (from any to 1.12)". Download & install this one. Then go on to 2.0.1, then 2.0.2, & so on until you get to the last one, 2.0.12. Hopefully, your game will behave then, & let you play.

The reason I'm telling you to use the mirror is because the Blizz Downloader is notoriously craptastic & slow, & it won't even work on my goddamn dialup. Also, it downloads everything in a huge clump, & can cause errors. I've know a few people who've had to reinstall because of the stupid thing. I'd stick with mirrors. Wirebrain is the best I've found, they get them up quickly, only raaaarely have small overloads, & are completly trustworthy.

If you have any issues with the patching this way, post & I'll try to help you out. 3nodding

Vista is a resource hog. But that's not the topic at hand here. I think WoW tries to download each patch seperately, so it was upgrading you by patch (when I first installed it I had to download for about an hour on cable before it would let me play)

Yea, definatly download all the patches from a mirror. Even on high speed their server only lets you download about 256 k every few min, so I dunno even how many kilobytes per second it is. It is craptastic though.
