Anarel raised a forearm and winced as the Goddess did away with the foul creature that was Nidhogg. Her ethereal voiced boomed between his ears as she commanded attention within her own domain.
Immediately, Ratatosk bowed his furry head in obedience, lowering his upper body so that the two riders could steady themselves on the branch they were perched on.
Anarel looked on in awe, mouth slightly opened as he leaned into Maya's ear to hear what she had to say. He then nodded.
Mana infiltrated the area, becoming thicker than air. Anarel could feel it tingling on his skin and flowing through his body. The source of this spike in energy came from the Goddess herself.
Wide-eyed in disbelief, Anarel came down from the beasts back, steadying himself on the ground. So much had already gone on in the course of only one day. Anarel was honestly overwhelmed.
Being a palace guard in Erudia, Anarel knew the proper way to conduct oneself in front of a superior. It was almost habit, as Anarel humbled himself down to one knee on the ground, in thanks for the Goddess in saving their lives.
Anarel wasn't sure if he was displaying proper conduct in front of the divine being, but he hoped that Frigg would perceive the utmost respect and gratitude he had for her at that moment.
"Yes, we seek to release Loki from his tomb, Goddess Frigg..."

Frigg, with her held held high and observing, seemed to give a small sigh of relief.
"It is a terrible thing, what we have done. But it could not be helped. We repent now, and lose all authority as gods, and must leave the fate of this world in the hands of your own kind."
Frigg extended her hand, unclenching her fingers. A small, green and glowing emblem materialized from her palm, floating just above the skin.
"This is one of the four Earthen Keys. The other three reside together in Jotenheim, where the frost giants dwell. The last key will be discovered when all the four earthen doors are unlocked."
The key hovered near them, dropping into Anarel's hand.
"I warn you, though. The final chamber is a collection of strong emotions and memories that could easily consume you if you are not careful. I have said and done enough, we gods can only aid you so much, you know."
Frigg gave a sly smile, her visage fading into the atmosphere.

Anarel clutched the key in his hand, breathing in slightly as he closed his fingers over it. He stood up, staring forward for a brief moment, before turning to Maya.
He gave a small hint of a smile from his lips, then unclasped one of this chain necklaces, looping the key onto it, and the re-clasping it around his neck again. The key dangled at his chest.
"Jotenheim, it is then."
Anarel turned his attention to Ratatosk once more, his eyes seemed to already ask the obvious favor.
The squirrel creature nodded. "I can only take you as far as the entrance to the frost realm, but beyond that, I have no jurisdiction. I belong near the Yggdrasil."
"Thank you." Anarel said. He then turned to Maya, wondering if she had anything to say before they headed off for the final keys.

Maya had a strange look on her face. "What did they do that was so bad?" She Slid off Ratatosk, approaching Anarel, staring at the key. She gave a quipped sigh. "I need a lantern!" she gave a sighing groan, wilting.
Many witches used wands, staffs, or anything else of the like. But one thing about the witches of asgard was that once they "bonded" with a type of medium, they were bound to it, meaning a wand witch couldn't use a staff, and vice versa, and the medium Maya learned was using a lantern, of all things.

Anarel furrowed his brow, the look of triumph flooding from his face.
"A lantern? A lantern for what? There's plenty light for us to see."
He walked closer to Maya.

Maya gave a sinister chuckle that held the promise of mischief. "A lantern..to make things explode, Ehehehe!"
She turned to face him, barely a few inches away from him. "And in the everfalling snows of Jotenheim, even sunlight cannot pierce the frozen air." She lowered her voice to be dramatic. "Flurry after flurry will envelope you in white darkness, and there will be... NO PATH AHEAD FOR YOU! ehehehe!"
She bit her lip, eyes shifting around. "Plus I kind of need a lantern to be useful, or else I can't do my spells."

Anarel folded his arms over his chest, giving a sigh. He looked at Maya with an air of slight skepticism.
"And where do you suppose we find a lantern?"
He tightened his lip.
Ratatosk looked on in silence, cleaning his fur every now and then.

Maya took a step back, widedning her arms from her sides to show she had nothing with her, not even money. "Buy me one in Snowshire! Its the town right before Jotenheim." She gave a mischeivous grin.
Devlish nymph.
