“What do you want from me?” Paul demanded, wrenching the door out of her hands before it closed.
“I don’t know… a little loyalty perhaps?” Fuming, Emma stormed to her desk, turning on her computer and staring at the monitor waiting for the machine to start up.
“What in the world are you talking about? Are you menstrual?
“Please, don’t insult my intelligence. I know you are sleeping with your secretary. And wipe that outraged look off your face, I found you out a long time ago.”
“You’re wrong… I mean, I would never… How could you—”
“Get out.” Standing, Emma walked to doorway and began pushing her husband towards the houses entrance.
“What do you mean ‘get out’? I live here.”
“Not for long,” she said opening the front door and pushing him onto the lawn. “I want a divorce.” Slamming the door shut and locking it behind her, Emma returned to her study, ignoring the sound of her soon-to-be ex-husband pounding on the door.

I know its terrible. I'm sure I'll end up completely revamping this... I just haven't been in a very creative mood lately. It'll be better next time. This story should get interesting again really soon... I hope. sweatdrop

The office was quiet, save for the humming of the now restless computer. Even Paul’s insistent knocking faded to the background. Seating herself in her office chair, Emma opened a blank document and began to recall the more eventful years of her life.

This story begins nearly fifteen years ago. I was eighteen, just beginning college in San Diego. I was Emma Greenway, then, a short blonde with startling green eyes and a pale complexion. I was beautiful; at least that’s what everyone told me. Life was great. I had a plethora of friends and parents who adored me. I was doing well in school, and my best friend, Mika, and I were inseparable. Everything changed when I began having the dreams.

They started one night shortly after my nineteenth birthday. Once in a blue moon I’d have this dream. I would appear at the counter of a dark, mysterious little bar. Beside me there would always be this mystifying Asian man. He was of medium height, and devilishly handsome, with his dark, shoulder-length hair and strong features.

The same requests for help flowed from his lips each time I was brought to the bar. In the beginning I didn’t realizes he was addressing me. Come to think of it, I don’t think he realized it was me he was pleading to either.

For a year, the dreams were easy to ignore, occurring only once or twice a month. As time passed, however, they began to demand more of my attention, until they began to consume my thoughts when I was wakeful, as well as when I slept.

I pitied this phantom of my dreams, and wished there was something I could do to quiet his restlessness. Everyone I told of my desires pegged me as crazy. After listening to them for a while, even I thought I was mad. But no matter how I tried, I could not put this man, these dreams, out of my mind. I had to know his story, to know why he was so mournful. I felt I had to easy his suffering, or I would lose myself in my own despair. I succeeded in my goal, and I’m now prepared to recite my tale to all who will listen, and, in doing so, I’ll tell his story as well.

Alright, I just finished this... 30 seconds ago. not bad for just under and hour of work, I think. Enjoy

My goodness, Neko, the story is so well written! I read it, but now I simply had to leave my comment, I did not do so before because of the inspiration you leaked into me. You have to keep going! I love seeing the word "plethora" used somewhere, that alone makes my heart do a jig! More, please? With sugar on top and cherries and whatever other delicious treat you might require?

I like this very much. You have set it up so that people are left to wonder how she came to marry Paul when she obviously had intentions of finding someone in college and helping them. It makes you wonder if she did not actually go. I hope to see more of this soon. Very nice.
