Hey everybody. Who gave what up for Lent?
As many of you probably know, fasting is a symbolic way of giving something up. For Lent, the season in which we prepare for Easter, some Christians fast in honor of Jesus' sacrifice. It's just a way of showing appreciation for what he did for us.
I gave up chocolate because I'm sorta addicted to it..... sweatdrop

Hi,
We were just brand new to the concept of Lent this year. It was our first one. I don't know if we did it right but we gave up time. It was fun we worked on doing different projects for Jesus. I really don't know the orgin either but it was very meaningful this year. biggrin

I think it's to honor Jesus fasting in the desert when he was being tempted by the devil. Also to honor his ultimate sacrafice for our sins. I could be wrong though.

CW Hart I think it's to honor Jesus fasting in the desert when he was being tempted by the devil. Also to honor his ultimate sacrafice for our sins. I could be wrong though. I think you could be right, but that might not be the only part of it.
