Kayin's been doing pretty well lately. He's becoming used to my place and has taken over half my bed... I've tried to set up a bed for him in the spare room, but he likes being near me at night. God knows, I can't get him out of the spare room during the day... geez that kid likes his privacy! he's found a fondness for my piano... there may be nothing worse and better than a baby smacking away at an antique...

We had an... incident the other day with my locket... It's shiny so naturally Kayin wanted to play with it. What a mess, it resulted in the same weird occurance that happened to me when I first touched him. Poor baby, I had to clean up his scar, which he did NOT like. Plus, he's decided he does not like my locket one little bit and makes a point to try and poke at it with sticks or something. I can only imagine what will happen when it grows.

He poked Sage a bit to, but nothing happened. I'm beginning to think it's only females that cause a reaction. I would test the theory but I don't want to hurt him anymore. I'm still wondering why I can touch him now... There's something different about this child. Something very different, besides the fact that he's abnormally strong... he lost a ball behind one of my bookcases and toppled the damn thing to get to it. I'm sorry, I dont' care how rambunctious babies are, normal ones can't do that. I can only say that this will really be an adventure for all of us.

Kayin has been adjusting well. He isn't having fits when I bring out the locket, which is good cause I've been missing it. He's discovered that he enjoys me playing the piano. Every now and then he'll come over and tug on my slacks and point at the ancient thing. He seems content with the few songs I can play, maybe I'll get him lessons some day.

Other than that life has seemed normal, or as normal as it's going to get. I can only imagine what it will be like when Sage and the locket grow.

Ethan, my some what dimwitted sibling came over today. I told him all about Kayin and he seemed pretty hoaked out. Spouting off about wondering children and child abductors. I told him Kayin was mine to find but he didn't agree. Though, I must say they did hit it off pretty well. He even made Kayin smile, which for me is impossible unless I play the piano. So, I guess I'll have to have the dumb lout over more often. Shoot.

In other news... my apartment is too small... I'm gonna have to leave it and that makes me sad. One, I hate moving and don't want to have to pack my crap up and two, this is such a nice place and three, where the hell am I going to get the money? Ah well, I'll find it somehow, guess I better start looking now. Sheesh.

Oh dear... they hate each other already. My little Iralia has grown from a locket to a beautiful baby girl and that, even though it's a blessing, has caused more headache than I thought possible. Kayin poked her, it made her cry, it made him cry, it really made me want to cry... He's curious about her, but he knows he doesn't want to touch her. Goodness, it drives me nuts trying to keep an eye on them. I thank god that Sage is still a twig.

In further news, there are no homes for decent prices. Geez, I can not afford the places that are out there, but I need to find some place soon. This just isn't going to work out here. It's way too small and it'll only get smaller now. I hate to think that I'm going to have to ask Keith if I can stay with him. Dear god... what a disaster, but there's no where else to go. Smug b*****d... no, he's not smug, I'm just bitter.

That's for another day though, keeping my eyes on the days ahead.

Ivy picked up the phone cautiously, there was no hurry really... the twig was still a twig... they didn't really need a new place. No, that wasn't true, they desperatly needed a new place, and, she though, they needed it bad enough to call Keith. It would've been... a year really since they'd last been together. It wasn't like that hadn't seen each other since then, or that they hadn't been civil. She was just blowing this entire thing out of proportion. The old Harten mansion was easily large enough to house her brood until she found her own place, and it was large enough that she could easily avoid Keith like the plague.

Squaring her shoulders she began to dial his number and hated that she still had it memorized. She hoped that she would just get the answering machine, this would be so much easier if she'd only get the answering machine. Fate was not on her side.

"Hello?" his steady baritone cruised out of the speaker. Her breath hitched. "Ivy?" Dammit, how did he knew it was her?

"Er, hi Keith, I was hoping to get your machine..." She mentally kicked herself for sounding so lame. "Anyway, erm, how have you been doing? I didn't see you at Ethan's 4th of July BBQ." God she hated small talk, she was happy that he hadn't shown up to her brother's BBQ. "Are you going to be at Trista's house warming party?" God, what was she doing? Now he might just show up!

"..." the speaker was silent for a few moments, "Ivy, cut the small talk sweetie, you know you don't like it. Just ask me what you called to ask." He was almost frustrated with her. She didn't want to have anything to do with him and here she was calling him, just when he was thinking of her. Damn her.

"Right... yeah, okay, just give me a second." For the first time she needed the damn small talk, to get used to talking to him again. No, she could do this, it wasn't that hard. "Well, and no this isnt' small talk, did you hear about my kids?"

He nearly choked, she had children!? God dammit, why hadn't Chris told him! Taking a minute to gain his breath he steadied himself on a chair. "No, I don't think I've heard about them... it's them right, plural?" He couldn't get his mind around it, children, Ivy had children...

"Yeah, well it's no big deal really, only, my children are a bit different than normal children. This is all moot though unless you can answer this..." She took a deep breath and swallowed her pride. "As much as I love my apartment, and I do love it, it's far too small for my children and me. I'm currently looking for a new bigger place, but in the mean time I really need to find these kids a home... so..." she sighed and ran through her question as fast as she could, "is it at all possible that we could stay with you for a little while?"

A blow from a hammer would've been less shocking... she wanted to live with him again... with her children. Jesus, could she have done anything more amazing. Remembering that he was still on the phone he replied, "Of course you can Ivy, you know, well you should know, that my home is always open to you. How many rooms will you need? Do you want your old room?" Thinking of it almost made him hurt, it was still decorated just the way she'd wanted.

"Yeah, that would be great, thanks, you have no idea how much this helps. I can pay some rent if you need me to. I'll need... erm... two rooms at the moment. When Sage grows I'll just put him with Kayin. Iralia will probably need her own room. This really helps a lot, thanks so much Keith." See, it wasn't that hard. It wouldn't be that bad... really it wouldn't. She didn't want to admit that she'd missed the gorgeous mansion with it's many rooms and lovely yard.

"Please, Ivy, don't insult me. Rent is not neccessary. Hmm... how long will it take you to pack everything up?" Remembering her apartment and everything in it, "I'll send a moving crew over for the piano tomorrow. Please, don't argue, just let me take care of it." He'd have to restock the kitchen too.

"I can have everything packed up by tomorrow..." There really wasn't much here and the smug b*****d knew it. He always had to be in control, but her temper would not help her out here. "Thanks again... I really don't know what I would do without this help. Well... I guess I'll see you tomorrow, I've got to start packing now." She didn't want to say that she'd already had much of the house packed.

"Tomorrow then, everything will be set up for your arrival. Good bye Ivy." He hung up before she could say anything, he never wanted to hear her say good bye to him again.

Placing the received onto the hook she sighed... what the hell was she going to do now...

Well... we made it to Keith's okay. There were no moving disasters and I'm beginning to get everyone set away in their rooms. Kayin's opted to stay in his own room finally. He appreciates it because it's big I think. So that means I can have Iralia in my bed with me.

Honestly... it's better than I could've imagined. I've really missed this place and well, it's just nice to be here again. It's like having my own little er big house. Keith gave us free rein over the east wing and I hate to say how grateful I am for that. And my room is just how I'd wanted it before... I'm not even sure he's been in here since I left. I kinda feel bad...

I really think this will be okay, Kayin seems to like Keith a lot. He's completely fascinated with Keith's piano skills, which far exceed mine and has learned that if he points to the west wing it means, "take me to see Keith." So... I guess I can't avoid Keith as much as I'd like to. Dammit, but I guess I owe it to him for letting me stay here. For now, I'm just glad to be settled.

Life is moving right along in the Harten household, my children have made it damn near impossible to avoid Keith and well... I guess it's okay. They need the strong male character in their lives and Keith fits the bill. If they start to call him daddy I'm going to kill myself... really...

I think Kayin's been trying to talk lately. He's been trying to form words more and I've been urging him to say "mamma" but he's not taking to it. It's more, "keh", which tells me he's either wanting to say his name or Keith's.... I'm dreading the second option. Dear god in heaven save me...

As if that's not scary enough, he's begun to really pick on Iralia. Making sure to play loud stuff when she's trying to go in for a nap. I know he's doing it on purpose because he doesn't really like loud things, or drawing attention to himself. Sometimes he seems sad when he looks at her, I wonder if he feels bad for picking on her. I'm really hoping he'll grow out of picking on her though, it's really stressful.

I took Kayin with me to my adoption agency for the lockets. He had his bag of blocks with him so I knew he'd be fine. A man came by and he took the time to play with my boy. I didn't know who he was so I was a little nervous, but Kayin didn't seem to mind. So, I tried to push my motherly insticts away.

But, at one point, Kayin got this really funny look on his face and his eyes glazed over a bit. I got really worried but then he seemed to snap right out of it. I'm not sure whether I should take him to the doctor or not. Nothing like that has happened before, nor has it happened since. I guess if it happens again I'll take him in.

July 12, 2005 --- TOR HQ
Players: Ivy - Kayin, Kohenkyo - Turel, Dragain - Ingina, Pavement - Mosrael

Kohenkyo walked in HQ with Turel squirming in her arms. Sitting down on one of the soft couches therein she set the infant beside her & watched as he looked about curiously. He had only beenhere once before, but was certainly still intrigued by all that was around him.
Kohenkyo mused on what sort of toy to get him, given that he was rather rough & destructive. He was toning down his behavious to the other though, & that was the main concern for now.

--

Ivy hauled Kayin in her arms and sauntered into the HQ. She'd only been here on one occasion and that was before her meeting with Kayin, the little darling. Entering, she saw Ko and waved merrily. She walked over and set Kayin down on the floor. "Hey Ko, how's it?"

Kayin studied his suroundings with a dubious stare... what was this place... and who were these new people? Deciding it didn't matter he stared more intently at the other boy, the one with the wings... he was mildly interesting.

--

Dragain steped into the HQ, Ingina in her arms. Ingina looked around curiously and blinked. She had never been here before and as Dragain carried her closer to two other girls, she started to get interested in the place. She watched as Dragain greeted them and sat her down beside.

--

Turel looked over at Kayin & fixed his gaze upon the child. Who was this? Turel pondered curiously & crawled onto his mothers lap.
Kohenkyo smiled & patted Ivy on the shoulder as she sat down.
"Very well indeed Ivy. Turel is learning fast & has already spoken his first two words." Kohenkyo replied proudly, sitting turel up.
"How about yourself? I see Kayin is rather bright eyed today." She said, looking at Kayin with a smile. Turel attempted to shuffle a little closer & sat now on the other side of his mother, next to Ivy. He looked up at Kayin & flapped his wings.

--

"Oh that's so cute, he's spoken already? Kayin's trying to... I think..." Looking Ivy noticed Dragain come in. This was somebody new. "Hi," she waved merrily and noticed Ingina in the woman's arms. "I'm Ivy. And who's this cutie?"

Kayin stared at the boy with some interest, he moved his wings and he had to admit that was pretty impressive. Turning to look at the new people he saw two of them and one of them had wings too... why didn't he have wings? He got a really funny feeling inside him as the gold haired one got closer... he didn't like this feeling... so he returned his attention to the other boy, he liked that feeling better.

--

Ingina looked at the two infants that are sitted next to their mothers. Suddenly, she felt left out and crawled over, her blue eyes staring at the other two infants. Dragain laughed and watched, not knowing what Ingina was thinking in her young mind.

--

Turel could sense great strength in the one before him & allies with strength was something he indeed craved. He reached out a hand to Kayin, noticing the angel out of the corndr of his eye. He glowered at her & looked at once back to Kayin. A servant of god....how irritating...

Kohenkyo smiled & nodded to Ivy & waved to Dragain. She knew her as one of the keepers at her refuge.
"Hello there Dragain." She smiled brightly & looked at the child in her arms. My my, what a pretty young lady you have there."

--

What was she doing?! Kayin eyed the girl wearily and resisted the urge to scoot away. He was a man, Keith said so, and men didn't scoot away from girls. The funny feeling inside him got stronger as she got closer. He really wanted to get away, but that only made him stay put. Then, noticing the other childs out stretched hand made a grab for it, happy for a way to back out while still seeming manly. He turned his face back to the girl and tried to hide the caution in his eyes.

Ivy observed how strange her son was acting but her attention was caught up by Ko and the new girl Dragain.

--

"Oh, hiya! This is Ingina... She's abit shy." Dragain said, giggling.
Ingina was puzzled at the way one of the Infants, the one with wings, was treating her. She dislikes being ignored. However, she liked the other two ladies - they had called her cute and pretty.

--

Turel pulled Kayin down to sit beside him. He was sure that this other felt it too! That horrible sense of dread! He looked to Kayin now, flapping his wings in an angry manner. He wanted to tell Kayin...but could not given his limited speach. Turel looked from the angel to Kayin & glowered, expressing his dislike.

Kohenkyo looked down at her child & smiled.
"Well Turel seems to like Kayin alright." She giggled & looked to Ingina.
"Who is this young lady then Dragain?"

--

"Ah well isn't she just sweet looking?" Ivy commented. A bit weary about having a female around Kayin, she didn't really want to know if the feminine touch was what hurt him, but she couldn't just pick him up and pull him away so she watched instead.

Kayin settled in his place near Turel and decided, yes he liked this one, with his flapping wings. But the other one, he didn't really dislike her, she just put the funny feeling in him. He almost felt bad for scampering out and didn't quite understand the other boys instant dislike. Maybe she put the funny feeling in him too. But you couldn't really tell that he liked anyone as his face was still set in his apprehensive stare. Still, he gestured to the other boy, at the girl as if to say, "Well what's wrong with her? There's obviously something wrong..."

--

Turel looked to his devilish wings & then to hers. Those lovely feathery wings....Turel looked upon them with a buning hatred. Why? He wasn't sure. But her prescence unsettled him greatly & set off fire in his soul. Turel did the same thing again, trying to get Kayin to see what she was. She was like Melanie!

Kohenkyo nodded.
"A pretty name for a lovely young lady." she replied, looking down at Turel.
"Aren't you going to say Hi Turel? Is something wring?" She asked him.

--

Dragain signed and said, a tone of sadness in her voice.
"Her name's Ingina. I guess she can be called a fallen angel. She's actually very mischievous... But you can't really tell can you?"

Ingina was feeling very irritated. She is being ignored by both of the infants present. Don't they like her? She sure don't, judging from the cold looks they were looking at her. She pouted and pulled Dragain's skirt. Determined to get some attention.

Dragain looked down at Ingina and wondered what was wrong. Realising that the other two Infants were cold towards Ingina, Dragain asked curiously,"Do Turel and Kayin have something against angels? Ingina seems abit loney..."

--

Oh! Maybe the boy was mad cause she had wings, maybe that made him feel not special. Well any idiot could see that they were very different wings. Kayin, still perplexed looked from the boy to the girl and back again. He wished he had wings... Now he felt bad though, his mamma had said to make friends, and he was with the boy he thought... but shouldn't he make friends with the girl? This was most annoying, and the reason why he liked it alone best.

Seeing the girl tug for her mamma he felt the little bad inside him grow... but the other boy wouldn't like him if he tried to make friends.

"ah, Kayin be nice to Ingina." Ivy said lightly as the girl tugged for her mother. She looked at the mother, "I don't know what it is, Kayin's very weary of females in general I think. She certainly doesn't look mischievious, and she has such beautiful wings."

--

Kohenkyo picked up Turel & placed him next to Ingina.
"Turel...be nice." Kohenkyo chided him.

Turel gave her a disdain ful look & then looked to Ingina. Best to please his mother, else she would not be so willing to serve. He held out a hand to Ingina, his expression blank. He figured that Kayin had not understood him, but wanted him to come & sit with him. This other TOR upset him much & Kayin had not made him feel so.

--

"Ingina's appearance is kind of misleading... Anyway, she is actually very trusting to her friends. I don't know, but I think that it's due to her past... Yes, her wings are pretty, aren't they? I do hope that Ingina will make her wings white again." Dragain said as Ingina kept tugging at her skirt.

Ingina glanced sideways at the other two infants again and decided that he did not like Turel. There is something about him... However, she found Kayin okay, and both of them are cute... So does the problem lies with her?

--

Kayin was okay when Truel had been wisked away. Being alone was okay, alone he didn't have the funny feeling. Imagine his anger when Ivy lifted him up to set him next to Turel and Ingina.

"Kayin sweetie, play nice with everyone."

How was he supposed to play nice with everyone when he had the funny feeling back... Still he followed Turel's example and held out his hand to the girl in a peace offering. It was okay to make friends if the other boy was trying, though he didn't look happy about it. Kayin wasn't happy about the entire situation, too many people, one of which put the funny feeling in him, and already he wasn't feeling manly.

"Oh, I don't know much about Kayin's past at all." Ivy felt kinda dunced since she didn't.

--

Turel raised an eyebrow. Rebuked? No matter. Angels would only cause him trouble. Something about angels.....& god. Turel looked to Ingina, giving her the impression that if she was bored with him, he could quite easily wriggle back to his mother. He would make friends & be good.....if she would like.

Kohenkyo nodded & looked at Turel warily.
"I think he irks her." Kohenkyo observed, pointing to her son & noting Ingina's air of dislike.

--

Ingina took Turel's hand and smiled. A weird feeling in her. However, glad that she had made a new friend, she stopped tugging Dragain's skirt and focused her attention on Turel. She looked over his shoulder and glanced at Kayin. She flapped her own wings and looked at Turel's devil wings. She found them cool actually. She resisted an urge to touch them and wondered what they were thinking.

--

Kayin wondered why the girl only touched Turel while he was there with his hand out. Maybe she didn't like him and that's what put the funny feeling there. He wasn't aware that he'd made anyone mad, besides his stupid sister. Maybe it was cause he didn't have wings like Turel... He'd ask his mother (or try to) why he didn't have wings...

--

Turel shook her hand. Something about her made him inclined to be less angry & he managed a slight smile. What had that awful feeling been? He flapped his wings & gestured to her own. They looked soft...very soft. He extended a little wing to her. Would she like to touch it? He looked to Kayin & put on a grin. He could be good if he tried. He wanted Kayin to be encouraged.

Kohenkyo smiled & watched them, looking to the others proudly.
"Well aren't they a picture." She giggles proudly.
"So very sweet!"

--

Ingina looked at both infants sitting in front of her, wondering what to do. Both of them seemed so distant... All she had wanted to do was make friends. Kayin seems scared of her, while Turel looked kind of bored. Ingina started to stared at both infants, making no move to touch them. They called her an angel, but she knew that it isn't totally true. She can feel it, but she know nothing of her past.

"I have to go now. Come on Ingina..." Dragain whispered. She lifted Ingina up and stood up. "Goodbye... I will come back tomorrow. I think it'll do Ingina good to have some friends!" With that, she walked out, Ingina waving, presumly goodbye.

--

Pavement ground a cigarette out with her shoe and entered the HQ with Mosrael on her shoulders.
"Hi Ivy, hey Kohenkyo. Who's that with you?" Mos leaned forward to get a closer look at the three strange little people sitting on the chairs. Pavement hadn't ever been into the HQ with Mos before, but she sort of recognized the three TOR from the pictures in the guild. She pulled Mos off her shoulders and walked over to the three girls watching their children playing. Mos clambered onto a chair and stared at the wings on Turel's back.

--

People were confusing that's all there was to it. Now the other boy was playing nice with the girl when there was really just a lot of anger before. If they couldn't make up their minds how was he supposed to know how to act. Still holding out his hand he waited for the girl to do something. Then her mother raised her and took her away... well fine myabe he did't like her either... for he presumed that meant she didn't want to touch him. Looking back at the boy he looked to ask, "What was wrong with her?" Yes, he liked the boy much better.

"Bye Dragain, Ingina!" Ivy waved them off and looked down at her boy and Turel, "Well they seem to be getting along alright don't they?"

--

Ingina closed her eyes as Dragain carried her out. She thinks that Turel is really cute, and that she want to see him again. And the next time she sees him, she will offer for Turel to touch her wings, in exchange for him. He had been most charming.

--

Kohenkyo waved & encourgaed Turel to do likewise. He did so & then turned to Kayin. He nudged the infant with his wing & took something from his pocket. A friendly offering of sorts. The orb was shiny, hues of blue & flecks of silver. He offere it to Kayin. He was sure that a tantrum would wreck the pretty thing & he would rather it was saved.

Kohenkyo waved goodbye to Dragain & smiled.
"Bye bye Dragain!." She called after afore turning to Ivy.
"I'd best be off myself...I've got to get back & feed the others." She giggled, getting up.

--

Looking down at what the boy held in his hands, it was so pretty. Reaching for it, Kayin took it into his own hands and marvled at the colors. Hmm... he'd have to do something good for this boy. Giving a very rare smile, he nodded his thanks. He wanted to run over and show it to his mamma but that wasn't manly, so he didn't. He wished he had something to give in return, he'd talk to keith about that as he had all sorts of pretty things...

"Oh Hi there Pave. Who's the little fella?" Ivy smiled at Mos then turned to Ko, "Oh, alright then, hopefully Kayin and Turel can play again some time."

--

"Hm. Everyone's leaving. Maybe Mos brought down the party?" Pavement looked a little worried. Was Mos going to turn out antisocial? Mos looked at Kayin's scar. He had an urge to touch it. He reached out his hand and extended a finger but Pavement pulled him back.
"Hands to yourself Mos. Don't touch someone without asking."

--

Kohenkyo nodded & picked Turel up in her arms, walking out of HQ with a wave to the others.

Turel peeked over his mothers shoulder & waved to Kayin.

--

Turning to Ivy, Pavement told her, "This is Mos. He's also got a lamb, but we weren't sure about bringing her into the HQ."

--

Kayin waved bye to Turel as he left and then seemed to realize there was someone reaching for him. Thankful that the new woman pulled the other boy away quickly. Kayin tucked the stone into his pocket. There were so many new people to meet here... too many...

"Ah, dont' say that, they just had to go." Ivy said reassuringly to Pavement. "Actually, I've got to go too... sorry, it's nothing against you I swear. Or Mos for that matter."

Lifting Kayin, Ivy waved goodbye and headed out... Kayin, as was usual today, was perplexed...

July 13, 2005 --- TOR HQ
Players: Ivy - Kayin, Kohenkyo - Turel, Dragain - Ingina, [Seraphic_Radiance] - Storm

A slender boy entered the HQ,the wolf tail he posessed made it apparent that he was a demon-a wolf demon to be exact. Though he appeared young, his wise golden eyes said otherwise. His blue hair was wet, damp strands of hair slipping into his eyes. At first he just stood there in the entrance, his eyes fixed at nothing, but then he began to take a few meek steeps into the room. No one was there..
In his arms he held a small child, his hair also wet, but he didn't seem to notice. In fact, the child didn't seem to take note of anything, his eyes a void of nothingness, and his face blank.
--
The young woman came into the HQ toting a child in her arms. Her hair, for the moment, was pulled back into a lose pony tail and it swung around as she came in. Noticing the person there, she smiled, "Hmm, I don't know you yet I'm afraid." She set down her child and walked over to the young man. "I'd be Ivy, and this is Kayin. Pleased to meet you."
Kayin looked around the room, hoping to find Turel or maybe even the strange girl he'd met before. There was more new people here and he figured he'd reached his quota on new people. Still he clung to his mother's slacks and looked up at the new people.
--
The boy's head jerked suddenly as he was pulled from his thoughts, and he spun around quickly to face the direction the voice had came from. "Oh..you startled me.." The half demon cleared his throat, a small grin on his face. "I'm Gabo, and this is Storm." He said in a steady voice, glancing down at the boy in his arms. "It's nice to meet you." Gabo added, pushing a few strands of blue hair from his face.
Storm's eyes stayed glued to the ceiling, staring at once spot as the other's talked around him.
--
Ivy tried not to giggle at the startled boy's response. "Nice to meet you Gabo, Storm." She poked Kayin on the head and he waved a very non enthusiastic 'hello'. Ivy cocked her head to the side observing Storm, "Well he's sure a cutie isn't he?"
What was wrong with his mother, did she call every infant she encountered a cutie? Kayin stared at the other child and wondered why he had such odd colored hair. The only other person he knew with weird hair was his sister... hopefully this new person was no where like his sister. Well, at least he didn't have wings... this made Kayin feel slightly better.
--
"Why thank you! Yours is as well, I can tell he'll grow up to be a very handsome man some day." Gabo offered the girl another warm smile, but he soon glanced down at the child in his arms.
"But I can't help but think there's something wrong with him..It's almost as if Storm is trapped within his mind. I mean- he doesn't respond to anything..Well, he does- but rarly." The half demon held some sadness in his voice.
"I brought him here, thinking that he'd come around if he got a chance to interact."
--
"Oh? That's so sad, hmm, Kayin say hello." She patted her son's head, "It's the first word he's learned sense I'm always telling him to say it."
Kayin looked up at his mother and then to the other child, who was not paying any attention to him. Rolling his eyes a little, he gave another weak wave and sputtered, "Hewwo."
"Well it's close enough I think." Ivy blushed. Turning to the child she leaned forward. "Hi there Storm, I'm Ivy." Smiling brightly she watched the child just stare at the ceiling.
--
"He can speak already?" Gabo asked with a tone of surprise. "That's truly amazing. He must be bright to learn so quickly." The half demon said cheerily.
The boy couldn't help but give a little laugh at this, and he ruffled Kayin's hair with his hand gently. "Well, hello to you too."
Storm's eyes flicked for a moment, but it seemed that he was only searching out another spot at which to gaze at.
"Sorry about that.." Gabo aplogized, his head bowed. "He does seem to like you, though..I'm sure of it."
--
"Honestly, I think he's only trying to learn bad words to say to his little sister. But I was surprised that he picked up on it so quickly. I'm so proud of him." Ivy smiled and ignored the nagging feeling that the boys next words would be scathing remarks.
Kayin resisted the urge to reach up and mess with his hair after the new man played with it. His mamma was always fussing with his hair so he'd gotten used to it a little... but it was still weird for a new person to do it.
Ivy looked back at Storm, "Ah I'm sure he likes me, he's just too shy to say so. Boys don't like admiting they like girls at this age." she joked but reached out to pet the boys hair, soothing it back and out of his eyes. The nurturing mother in her called for it.
--
"Oh, so he has a sister? Storm has an older brother, but they've yet to meet. Kenji, my other son, is currently visiting with a friend." Gabo blushed slightly-he was blabbing again, wasn't he? Before he could get carried away, he approached the sofa, taking a seat as he placed Storm on the floor in front of him.
Storm's eyes took their focus off the ceiling, having found the floor in it's place. His stare was so intence, it seemed as if he were examing every thread of the carpet beneath him.
--
"Yeah, little Iralia, she's still younger than him and he picks on her so much." Ivy sauntered over to have a seat near him, a toddling Kayin followed. "Perhpas your son would like to reach out to his brother some time then?"
Kayin now saw the other boy was on his level. Curiosity got the best of him and he crawled over near the boy. He didn't know what to say (or how to say it!) so instead he just nudged the boy a little. "Hewwo..."
--
Dragain walked into the HQ, Ingina in her arms. She saw Ivy whom she had met last night, and a new guy. She walked over, and gave a cheerful smile. "Hiya! I've brought Ingina back... She seems to like it here." Dragain said as she placed Ingina down beside Kayin.
Ingina remembered Kayin from last night and decided to approach him first. As for the other infant, she liked his hair, but wondered why she received no responce from him.
--
"Oh well, I guess that's just normal behavior between siblings. But someday, they'll be gald that they have eachother." Gabo spoke softly, keeping on eye on Storm..That boy was so unpredicible at times. The half demon noded at Ivy's comment. "Maybe.." Gabo's waved suddenly as another appeared in the HQ, an unfamilliar but friendly face. "Hey." He greeted with a wave.
Storm's body moved like a limp rag doll, Kayin's nudge causing him to lean slightly off balanced to the side. The boy's eyes took their attention from the floor, meeting that of the other boys. As the moments passed, nothing but scilence came from Storm, the boy taking joy at just studying the other infront of him quietly.
--
Happy that he'd got the childs attention Kayin was still a little peturbed at the odd mannerism the boy had. Well... people would be what they were. Kayin felt Ingina before he actually noticed she was there. The funny feeling came back and he looked over at her. This time he'd be a man... As she came nearer to him he held out his hand in a peace offering, ignoring the feeling. Maybe he'd introduce her to the other child.
"Hi Dragain!" Ivy waved cheerfully. She scooted a bit on the couch so the girl could sit down. "Nice to see you again. This is Gabo." She said gesturing at the boy. Ivy was pleased that there were so many people.
--
Kohenkyo skipped into HQ, her mood greatly lifted when compared with the day before. She had dressed Turel smartly & lo & behold...the child was smiling! Actually smiling without a trace or hint of hate on his eyes! She slowed to a bouncy walk & skittered over to Ivy. "Hello there Ivy! How are you this morning?" Kohenkyo asked, bringing round another child that had been following her, this one VERY different to any TOR. The little girl dressed in a pretty red dress had raven black hair to her waist, bright yellow eyes & a resemblance to a white lion tamarin. She waved to Ivy, following her mothers example.
--
Ivy smiled as Ko sailed in with Turel and someone else in tow. "Hey Ko, how's it? You seem in bright spirits today." There were so many people coming in and out. Ivy smiled down at the girl, "And who might this be?"
Kayin took his attention from Ingina and spotted Turel. He almost smiled but it didn't quite reach his face but he did wave. He was beginning to feel a bit cramped, there were too many people here, but he was glad that the boy from before was back.
--
Kohenkyo sat beside a little way from Ivy & placed Turel a little way from Kayin. She smiled brightly to Ivy & gestured to the little girl with her. "This is Melanie. She's a Zephirae angel." Kohenkyo replied. "The first of my adoptees." Kohenkyo adds with a giggle. Mel giggles also, looking over to Ivy & curtseying. "Mama has too many Miss Hawthorn." The little girl says with a smile. Kohenkyo gives her a gentle poke. "You cheeky thing you, one can never have too many." Kohenkyo replies fondly, turning back to Ivy. "How is Kayin today?"
Turel waved to Kayin & smiled, looking about himself. He didn't feel all that crowded. He looked to Kayin, wondering if the child was keeping the ball he had given him nicely.
--
Gabo grinned excitedly as Kohenkyo walked into the HQ, and he offered her a very friendly wave. "Hey, Koh! Long time no see." The half demon's eyes fell apon Turel, a very strange but charming boy that he had yet to lay eyes on until now.
Storm continued to stare at Kayin, even though it was apparent the boy's mind was elsewhere at the moment. He didn't seem to notice the other children gathering around, nor the grown ones talking up above.
--
Ivy smiled at the young girl, "Well it's lovely to meet you Melanie. Your mamma's right though, one can never have too many." Ivy returned her gaze to Ko, "Oh, he's doing just fine, he's met so many new people in these last two days. But he seems to like your boy a lot, he showed me the stone that Turel gave him. He's quite pleased with it."
Kayin reached into his pocket and pulled out the stone that Turel had given him, showing that it was still safe. Reaching into the pocket again, he produced a little medallion about the size of a quarter with pretty designs etched into it. Keith had gave it to him so he could give it to Turel and he felt quite proud of himself. Offering it to Turel, he nodded.
--
Kohenkyo waved to Gabo & looked from Turel to Ivy again. "They seems to get along well enough." the dragonwolf smiled & patted Melanie on the head. "Turel & this one here made up this morning for their misgivings about eachother, so it shows how used to others he's getting." She added in a contented tone. Melanie nodded & clambered into her mothers lap, she recognised Gabo as Kenji's keeper. "Hello Mr Gabo Sir!" the zephirae hailed him loudly & in a rather giggly manner.
Turel accepted the medallion gratefully & marvelled over it. This would be one thing that he would NOT break! He held it out to his mother who smiled & put it round his neck. Turel grinned broadly & then looked over at storm. The pinkish purple hair of this youngster piquied his interest straight away!
Kohenkyo giggled & caught Ivy's attention. "Peace offerings already." She smiled fondly.
--
"I think it's sweet that they're making friends. It's Kayin's first friend... well if you don't count my dopey brother and the guy we live with." Ivy smiled at Melanie again, "I'm glad you and Turel made up, it's nice when siblings can get along." She nodded sagely and the turned back to Ko, "I sure wish that Kayin and Iralia would make up already."
Kayin was delighted that the boy accepted the gift and mentally noted he should do something good for Keith as a thank you. Letting a rare smile cross his lips, Kayin placed the stone back into his pocket. He'd been really careful not to break it, the way he'd broken one of mamma's ear rings.
--
"Hi Ko!" Dragain said with a smile.
Ingina kept looking at all the other infants and suddenly felt very left out. She sighed and pouted, hoping that would catch their attention.
--
Remembering that he wanted to be manly, Kayin, again, reached out his hand to Ingina. Inviting her to come over and sit near them. He almost wished he'd brought something nice to give her... but he didn't really know her yet, and she still gave him the funny feeling...
--
Ingina was delighted that Kayin had at least warmed up to her. She accepted his invitation and nurged closer to him. Then, she held his hand and smiled brightly at him. Then, she made a note to herself that she ought to give him a gift of friendship.
--
Turel did likewise, holding out his hand along with kayin to encourage Ingina over to them.
Kohenkyo waved to Dragain & sat Melanie on her lap. Melanie nodded to Ivy & smiled. "It was for the best that we make up, else everyone else would indeed be sad & uncomfortable." She stated in the sage manner that children usually do when they are being serious.
--
Kayin was glad that the girl and him could be friends... until...
Pain shot straight through her grip right into his heart. His eyes went large for a moment and all there was, was the blinding pain. Then he started screaming, his scar blistering and reddening. He quickly yanked his hand away and curled into a ball. In the distant back of his head he could hear a woman screaming and a man laughing.
"Oh, my god!" Ivy swooped down to scoop Kayin up. "Baby, baby, it's okay." She looked at Ko, Gabo, and Dragain, "Sorry, this only confirms it. Geez... how absent minded of me... Kayin can't touch girls, it makes his scar burn every time. It happened with me the first time, and it's still happening with his sister." She rocked him in her arms and patted his back.
The pain was burning, right over his heart, and the screaming continued inside his head.
--
"Hello, Melanie. It's nice to see you again." Gabo chuckled to himself quietly, what a sweet girl she was. The half demon sighed suddenly, glancing down at Storm. The poor boy couldn't be much fun to the others, consitering he was a livly as a tree stump. Though maybe if he surrounded himself with others from time to time he would begin to snap out of it a bit. Gabo consitered picking the boy up and away from the other children, but he seemed to be doing fine on his own.
--
Ingina smiled even more. She really liked her new friends and decided that she would bring two over the next time Mama brought her in. Giggling, she tried to sit herself in between Turel and Kayin, feeling weird that she is the only female around.
Ingina remembered about the promise she made to herself the last time she left, and offered for Turel to touch her wings. She smiled and pointed at her wings, hoping that he would understand.
--
Kohenkyo jumped up worriedly, letting Kayin have space. "Is he alright Ivy?!" Ko exclaimed. Melanie let out a frightened squeak & hid behind her mother.
Turel looked horrified! What was wrong, he looked confusedly from Kayin to Ingina. Something was indeed wrong...but what was it! He settled his gaze on Kayin & let out a whimper. His friend....Kayin was hurting. He looked to his mother imploringly.
Kohenkyo went over & picked him up, shushing him & then setting him by storm to allow Kayin some space. Turel curled his wings around himself.
--
Ingina was really upset. There was something up with Kayin, the really nice boy. She looked at him, teary eyed, as his Mommy picked him up. She can understand abit of the adult's talking, and was sure that his pain was her fault. Tears ran down her cheeks as she started crying, mad at herself and sad for Kayin.
"Oh dear! Ingina!" Dragain said, getting worried. "I'm sorry Ivy... Ingina, come her." Dragain picked Ingina up and craddled her, whispering comforting words. Dragain stroked Ingina's hair, and Ingina's crying slowly stopped.
Ingina wipped her eyes, still feeling bad about Kayin. She refused to release her grip on Mama and remaided slient.
--
Kayin had settled down into a few fitful sobs but curled against his mother. He had enough thought to be mad that he'd come across so weak to his friends and hoped that he didn't look like a wimp. Still, the scar was already beginning to not hurt as bad and settled into a low throb.
"Oh, dear, my baby boy, it's okay." Ivy gave an apologetic look to everyone in the room. "I'm really sorry about all this, I wasn't sure, I am now. It has to do with his past I'm sure, but he really can't touch girls, they give him a lot of pain. With one hand she reached into her purse and brought out some ointment. Spreading it on his scar she let it do it's effects.
Kayin struggled against his mother while she applied the medicine but finally accepted it. It was cooling his scar down and his sobs ceased. He had to be brave and strong... He looked at her his eyes still a little red from the screaming. Pointing at the ground he announced he was ready to be put down.
He looked at Ingina in her mom's arms and felt bad that she was crying. Furrowing his brow, it didn't really make sense, but he put on a rare smile for her and waved as if to say it was alright... it wasn't though... he wasn't going to touch her again...
--
Turel wriggled, demanding that he be allowed back over to his friend. Kohenkyo went & picked him up, bringing him back to Kayin's side. Turel spread a wing & put it round him protectively. He looked to Ingina & waved the other wing to her.
Mel came out from her hiding place behind one of the sofas & sat back down. "Is Kayin alright Miss Hawthorn?" She asked quietly. Kohenkyo watched worriedly, wondering what on earth would cause Kayin to have reacted in such a manner.
--
Kayin made it a point not to hiccup into sobs again. Men didn't cry in public, nor did they make women cry and he still felt bad about Ingina crying. But having Turel put his wing around him really made him feel somewhat better. A sense of kinship was there and it helped him be more steady.
"Oh, Melanie," Ivy felt bad that the girl had seen the outburst, "He'll be okay sweetie, it's just..." she tried thinking of an easy way to explain it, when nothing came to mind, she said the first thing that came to mind, "He's allergic to girls. Except for me." Damning herself for not thinking of something better she nodded as if to assure herself.
--
Ingina looked at Kayin. She can feel Kayin's pain, and she hated that feeling. She was sure Kayin was just putting on a brave font. She let herself be placed on the floor, and sat opposite Kayin. She did not dare to touch him again. Glancing at Kayin, she was sure he felt the same way.
Ingina remembered that one of her wing feathers had dropped out the other day, and it was with Mama. She tugged at Mama's skirt and pointed at one of her wings. She hoped Mama will understand what she wants.
Dragain smiled at Ingina, pondering for a while before finally understanding what ingina wants. From a pocket, Dragain took out one of Ingina's wing feathers. "Here you go, Ingina." she said.
Ingina took the feather and offered it to Kayin. Her eyes pleaded. Can you accept this? She waited for Kayin's responce.
--
Melanie shook her head & smiled. "Its ok Mrs Hawthorn......Turel cries like that...so I'm used to it." Mel replied, her tone trying to be as bright & chirrupy as possible. Kohenkyo patted Ivy. "I'm sure it will go with time." She said comfortingly.
Turel watched Kayin like a hawk, looking back to Ingina every so often.
--
Kayin watched as Ingina sat across from him, in not a little wearily. He would be strong cause that's what he was supposed to be. She didn't look like she was doing too well either and if he caused her pain... well he felt bad about that. Still, when she held out the feather to him, he wasn't sure what would happen if he took it. "Men accept gifts when they're given and say 'Thank you,'" that's what Keith had told him and he was a man.
Reaching out he gripped the end of the feather and was desperate with relief when all he felt was the softness of it. Smiling and nodding at her he tried to say thank you, but it came out more, "Thk oo." He would need to get her something pretty. Still he retreated back to Turel.
Despite the situation, Ivy beamed at how well mannered her son was being. "I hope it goes with time too Melanie."
--
Turel held out his wing again to Ingina again as he had done last time they met. It was his kind of odd handshake. He kept his wing about Kayin still, reluctant to take it away.
Melanie nodded & sat down by her mother, who was trying very much to calm down. Despite her often bouncy attitude, she did get rather upset by people being hurt.
--
"It'll be okay Ko." Ivy felt the tension from the woman. "I just no to keep a better watch on him now." Letting herself fall into the couch. "Too much excitement for me." Ivy mentally kicked herself for letting it happen, she'd had the idea that it was bad for Kayin to touch females... but she hadn't guarded him against it. Negligence did not have it's place in parenthood.
--
Ingina was relieved that Kayin had accepted her gift and watched as he retreated back to Turel's side. She had expected it, but felt happy anyway. She wondered what had caused the other infants to be cold to her when the only one should be Kayin.
--
Kayin was actually rather taken with the feather, it was pretty and kind of glossy. If he got her something nice, and he had a reliable source that said girls liked pretty things, maybe they could still be friends. Friends who didn't touch... He nudged Turel and gestured the feather and pointed at her, saying it's okay.
--
Turel petted the feather & nodded, giving Ingina a smile & offering her his free wing again as a truce. He could sense that she thought he was indeed being cold...but he was trying his hardest.
Kohenkyo nodded & calmed herself a little. "& I thought Turel's nightmarish turns were bad." She chuckled to herself & cuddled Melanie. Melanie watched Turel curiously.
--
Ivy let out half a laugh, "It really doesn't happen often at all. I think he'll get it soon that it's not just his sister that causes the pain but all girls. It normally doesn't last long either. He seems fine now, but I'll still re-apply ointment to his scar when we get home." Ivy looked down at the children and how Turel had his wing around Kayin. "It's sweet, the way Turel wants to shelter Kayin."
Knowing that putting the feather in his pocket would ruin it, Kayin stuck it behind his ear, the way you would a pencil.
--
Kohenkyo watched her son & nodded in agreement with Ivy. "Indeed....it looks like something from their pasts might make them kindred spirits." She giggles girlishly, watching her little Turel. Melanie smiles & watches her younger brother, very much intrigued by Ingina, whom she suspected to be an agel like herself, maybe not a zephirae...but an angel none the less.
Turel sat & waited to see how Ingina would take to his handshake.
--
Ingina reached out and touched Turel's wing. They felt so leathery and rubbery. They are so cool! She offered him one of her wings to touch and decided that he is nice too.
--
Ivy smiled, "I wish I knew more about Kayin's past... but I hardly know a thing." Still it warmed her heart to watch Kayin make friends with other kids his age.
Kayin was happy that he, Turel, and Ingina could get along. He'd leave the physical communication to Turel and just use motioning.
--
Turel smiled & reached forward, careful not to catch his sharp wing talons on Kayin. He petted the soft, downy wings of Ingina & let out a small noise that basically meant the softness pleased him. He looked at his own & felt ever so slightly odd & looked rather ashamed for a few seconds afore masking it with a smile. He looked again to Kayin, smiling to show that he was being friendly.
"Oh would you look at that." She smiled & pointed to Turel, Kayin & Ingina, Turel & Ingina exchanging friendly gestures with Kayin tucked into Turel's wing. "Thats the nicest I've seen him yet." Kohenkyo remarks proudly. Mel lets out a happy giggle.
--
Kayin smiled again, and it was becoming easier, everything was going to be okay. He was still a man, Turel was now his closest friend, and he hadn't totally damaged his budding friendship with Ingina. The pain over his heart was almost like a forgotten memory and all was okay.
"They're so cute." Ivy's heart softened looking at them. "And this is the most I've ever seen Kayin smile. He's usually so solitary." A little thought popped into her head, "I bet they cause all sorts of trouble as they grow..."
--
"Well, Ingina is mischeivous... It's just that she looks so innocent, dosen't she?" Dragain said with a laugh. "I hope that they grow up behaving themselves... Now... What are the chances of that happening?"
Ingina was sure Turel liked her wings as much as she liked his. She liked both Kayin and Turel! She flapped her wings lightly and giggled cheerfully.
--
Kohenkyo let out a chuckle & nodded. "Call it intuition, but I have a feeling that those three will definately be as thick as theives throughout their lives." The dragonwolf says with a little tilt of her head, nodding to Ivy. "You might be right."
Turel patted Kayin & looked to him in a manner as if asking whether the pain had gone. He took his other hand from Ingina's wing & gave her a broad grin.
--
"Oh, they'll behave alright... while we're watching." Ivy laughed and looked over at the children. "Kayin has a slight ego... if someone puts him up for a dare, or a challenge, most likely he'll take it. It doesn't matter what type of trouble they get in though, as long as they stay friends."
Kayin, understanding Turel, pointed at his scar which was back to normal and shrugged his shoulder as if to say, "it just left." He looked at Ingina and then at Turel and realized that he felt a since of belonging, for the first time. It was a good feeling.
--
Ingina listened to the adults talking. She picked out some words which she recognised and had a funny feeling that the adults were talking about them. She looked at her new friends and smiled happily. If only she could talk. She wanted to tell her friends that she really liked them...
"They look so sweet together... I bet they would want to meet the others." Dragain said, grining happily.
--
Turel felt strangely safe with these three. Prehaps it was because he had met them before once already, or maybe it was something more potent than that. He smiled & nodded to Kayin & let out a relieved sigh, turning back to Ingina to see what she was doing. She had fallen rather quiet.
Kohenkyo nodded in agreement with Ivy, hoping that Turel would indeed be able to keep friends throughout his life, rather than pushing them away.
--
"I'm sure they will meet the others sometime." Ivy said, looking down at her watch. "Well it's been fun Ko, Dragain, Melanie, but it's time for me and Kayin to head. out." Ivy looked down at her son and felt bad for tearing him away. "Kayin sweetie, time say bye bye."
Knowing that familiar phrase, Kayin smiled at his two friends and waved to them as he got up and was swept away by his mother. Over her shoulder he peeked up and waved again.

July 16, 2005 --- TOR HQ
Players: Ivy - Kayin, Dragain - Ingina

Kayin'd been bothering Ivy about going back to the HQ all of the past day. The boy was nearly insufferable in his pestering. Finally, Ivy gave in and gathered up the boy. Off to the HQ.

She entered with him up on her hip and found no one there. Sighing, she figured she'd wait a while for his sake before heading out. He seemed to be looking for people too, she figured it must've been Ingina or Turel as they were the only true friends he'd found yet.
--
Dragain sighed as she carried Ingina piggyback into the HQ. Ingina had been excited about meeting new friends every since Dragain had told her about the many infants that she had not yet met.

"Hi Ivy!" Dragain said with a smile and placed Ingina next to Kayin. "How are you and Kayin doing?"

Ingina went over to Kayin and gave him a hello wave. She was very happy that she has the chance to see him again.
--
Kayin was really happy to see Ingina again, as he had something for her. He gave a brief smile and reached down into his pocket. He'd made Keith help him pick out something pretty for her since she'd given him one of her beautiful feathers. Pulling out the jeweled charm on the black ribbon he held out to her. Careful to hold one end so she could grasp the other.

Ivy smiled seeing Dragain and Ingina come in, so it wasn't a wasted trip. "Hi Dragain, good to see you again. Kayin and I have been fine, though it seems he likes spending more time with my friend and roommate Keith, than me." She laughed. "How's things going in your camp?"
--
Ingina looked at the necklace and took it. It is really pretty and she love it! She smiled happily and gave Kayin a quick friendly hug to say thank you.

"Maybe because they're both males?" Dragain said, and paused. "That's a beautiful necklace!" Dragain exclaimed and put it on Ingina. "It matches your eyes too!"
--
Kayin was happy to have her hug him... until the pain started up again. He tried to be brave this time, but it kept getting stronger. He pulled away and bit his lip to stop from screaming. Curling in a ball for a moment he wept silently trying to hide his face.

"It is a lovely necklace..." and expensive looking too... It had to be Keith's doing. Ivy pursed her lips and didn't seem pleased by her son's gift giving. But that thought faded when she saw him curl into himself. "Baby? What's wrong."

He held out a hand as if to wave his mom off, he'd stick this out by himself. He had to prove it to himself that he could. Despite the burning in his chest, he made more movements as if to say it was only a scratch.
--
Ingina looked at Kayin, and remembered the last time, but the hug lasted for less than a second... Her eyes widen, but Kayin's thoughts and feelings reached her. He wants to bear with the pain. He wants to be strong... Ingina respected his decision, but it really pains her to see him in so much torture.

"Oh dear..." Dragain said. "Ingina!" Dragain looked at Ingina sternly and sighed. "I think Kayin's pain is acting up again... I'm so sorry Ivy!" Ingina sat in front of Kayin, she still think that Kayin wants to do this alone.
--
Gaining more of his composure Kayin straightened himself. His scar was blistered and very red but he put on a smile for Ingina's sake. Inside he was angry at himself, she was trying to thank him and he ruined it...

"He's not letting me take care of him when it happens anymore. It's a point of pride or something I guess. But still... I don't know why I can touch him and she can't. It's just so confusing, but he'll be okay. When he takes a nap I'll apply more ointment to his scar." Ivy frowned and her brows drew together. "I wish I knew what was up."
--
"Okay..." Dragain said as she smiled. "I think because you're his mother. That bond is the strongest. The bond of a mother and her child... That is why I'm sure that you'll know one day!"

Ingina smiled back, but there it is again. That weird sensation that she can feel, or experience, Kayin's thoughts. He's angry at himself, Ingina realised. Having this feeling is quite useful, Ingina thought as she thought of a way to cheer Kayin up. She took out her drawing book and a pencil and offered it to Kayin.

"Ingina wants Kayin to draw in her book..." Dragain told Ivy as Ingina took out the book. "To her, it's a symbol of friendship."
--
Kayin cocked his head to side studying the book and pencil. Hmm... he'd seen his mom using one of those before. She did it often and sometimes she'd let him sit in her lap while she'd do it. It was really neat to watch, so maybe he could do it to. Accepting the book and pencil he motioned for when to return it.

"Ah, that's so sweet. It'll be fun for him, I wonder what he'll draw. Probably just simple scribbles, but still, how sweet." Ivy thought for a moment, "I'm sure someday Ingina will be able to hug him without worries. At least... I hope so."
--
Ingina smiled. He had accepted to draw in the book! She shook her head slowly - take your time to draw. She went nearer to Kayin, wanting to see what he will draw. She was careful to keep some distance this time.

"I do hope so. Somehow, I don't think Ingina is keen on touching Kayin again..." Dragain nodded. "Ingina is now caucious about being near Kayin physically."
--
Kayin fixed a serious look on his face as he carefully began to scratch lines on the paper, he'd seen mamma do this soooo many times... he carefully tried to emulate her style and thought he was doing a rather good job of it. He knew exactly what he wanted to draw and carefully set about it.

"Yeah... poor guy..." Ivy watched as he sketched furiously in the book and her heart warmed when it reminded her of herself. "I'm glad they can still be friends without touching. I know for infants a lot of it's based on touch."
--
Ingina watched, fascinated as Kayin began to sketch. Ingina was sure it would turned out beautiful. Anyway, Ingina loves all kinds of drawings anyway, not to mention one that is from a friend.

"In a way, yes, you are right." Dragain begun slowly, and paused before she continued. "But Ingina can sense thoughts, or feelings, in my opinion. I've realised that she had responded to my thoughts and feelings many times without me saying them out loud. However, it's just a wild guess."
--
Kayin looked up at Ingina for a moment then went back to his drawing. Wanting it to be a surprise he shift so she couldn't see it and he could get a better look at her. He wanted to show her that he really did want to hug her, just couldn't. So he drew it... he made himself bigger cause men were supposed to protect women. He thought she was pretty even in the drawing. So with a last few strokes he finished. Ooops, he almost forgot the wings, he added them on quickly and hoped it didn't look too messy. He thought it looked decently like his mamma's work. He turned the book around so she could see it.

"Oh? Well that's an interesting power. Probably comes in real handy too sometimes." Ivy nodded and thought if her baby had powers... Well he could lift more than any baby should EVER be able to and he could smell anything if it was in the house, even in entirely different wing. He had the best vision she'd ever seen, and his hearing was suberb... maybe he did have something special.
--
Ingina's eyes widen for a minte before she let out a happy smile. The drawing is really pretty! Ingina resisted the urge to hug him again and hugged the drawing instead.

"Wow... That is what I call talent!" Dragain exclaimed and laughed. "Kayin is raelly something!" Dragain looked as Ingina hugged Kayin's drawing. "That's so sweet..." Dragain sighed. She looked at her watch and gasped. "Oh no! I have to get home! Goodbye, Ivy and Kayin."

Ingina kept her book before she got lifted up by Mama, much to her surprise and reluctantness. She had wanted to spend some more time with Kayin. She peeked out from her Mama's shoulder and waved goodbye.
--
Kayin was most pleased with himself. And Ingina seemed to enjoy the drawing, he liked that she hugged it. So, things were okay. He was a bit put off that she had to go but waved to her as she left. He liked doing the drawing and would have to talk to his mamma about getting him one of the books and some pencils so he could practice and draw better.

Ivy was slightly shocked and impressed by the drawing as well. Her baby was a regular Leonardo DaVinci! She scooped him up and waved at Dragain and Ingina as they left. "See ya!" Turning to face him as the walked out too, "Well aren't you something, all drawing pretty and stuff." Nuzzling him, they went out into the open air and began the short walk home.

July 23, 2005 --- TOR HQ
Players: Ivy - Kayin, Kohenkyo - Turel, Dragain - Ingina, Xpressionless - Lorelei

He'd whined, he'd begged, he'd kicked her in the shin, all in all, Kayin wanted to go back to the HQ to see his friends. Now that he'd begun speaking... well he had a hard time stopping, even if what came out was mindless babble. Ivy carted Kayin into the HQ hoping to find some familiar faces or meet new ones. Setting her little one on the ground she sat down on the couch. "Just wait sweetie I'm sure someone will show up."
--
Turel & Kohenkyo were sat in HQ alongside a rather large looking black creature, that was slupmed comfortably on the floor. Turel was sat before it, petting the creature's muzzle & giggling fondly, whilst Kohenkyo was reading a dream ancyclopedia that she had got from the library. Kohenkyo did not look overly happy, even with Turel's happy giggles.
Turel looked round upon seeing Kayin enter & let out a squeak of what appeared to be joy & shuffed round on the floor, allowing the huge black creature to pik him up bring him over to Kayin.

Kohenkyo looked up & managed a weak smile.
"Hello there."
--
Ingina had been beggin the whole morning. And Dragain had finally agreed to bring Ingina to the HQ. Dragain walked into the HQ and spotted two familar faces.

"Hi Ko! Hi Ivy!" She said cheerfully, and upon seeing Ko's unhappy face, added, "What's up with that face Ko?" Dragain put Ingina down beside Turel and Kayin.
--
Ivy smirked over at Kohenkyo, "What eating you?" The girl didn't seem to be in her best spirits and Ivy wondered if it was the black creature which was causing it. Walking over near by Ko.

Kayin's eyes brightened when he saw Turel and very carefully, he'd been having his mother help him, said, "Heyllo... Turel..." quite pleased that he'd gotten the words out he examined the black creature with mild interest. "'Aht's tis?"

Noticing Ingina, Kayin smiled briefly happy that both his close friends were here. "Heyllo, Ngeena!"
--
Turel gives Ingina a friendly poke & grins, uttering one of the few words that he could muster.
"Lo!" He giggled in a chirrupy manner to both Kayin & Ingina

Kohenkyo looked up at Dragain & smiled again, weaker than before.
"Turel's nightmares are getting worse....I've tried everything, but nothing seems to make a difference..." Kohenkyo sighed deeply & looked over at her adoptive son with a rueful expression.
--
With Lorelei once more perched upon her hip, Astraea walked briskly toward the HQ, eager to perhaps catch up with Dragain and Pave as well as meet some other TOR guardians. Slipping through the door, a smile spread across her lips as she noticed Dragain and Ingina, as well as two others she had yet to meet. "Dragain" she called, waving at the other woman as she made her way toward her.

Although Lorelei had noticed Ingina as was relived to see a familiar face, her gaze was fixed upon the other two children in the room. She eyes them curiously, wondering if they would be as friendly as Mos and Ingina.
--
Turel looked fron Ingina to Kayin & then gestured to Korothiir.
"Is Korotheer." Turel petted Korothiir & the sarnin sat down, so that the children could get a better look. The creature was tall, black with purple tiger stripes & had the oddest wings for they looked as though they had been dipped in blood.
"Ingeena an Kayen like Korotheer?" Turel asked curiously, gesturing to the Sarnin in a manner meaning that they could pet him.
--
"Geez, that sounds bad... do they happen nightly? On certain nights? Under certain conditions?" Ivy quirked her eyebrows together in deep thought. She wasn't sure anything could be done to help poor little Turel. "I don't know that there's anything to be done sweetie..." Ivy said sadly.

Ivy glanced at the new woman coming in with the red head child and bumped herself out of her thinking mode. "Oh hello, I don't believe we've met." Ivy held out a hand to the woman, "I'm Ivy, and the cute boy over there, the one without the wings, is my son Kayin."

Kayin's eyes went to the door when he heard the footsteps coming. His eyes narrowed slightly when he saw two new females come in. He'd discovered that despite some acceptances like Ingina and his momma, females were no good.

Quickly he whipped his eyes back to the creature dubbed "Korotheer". He nodded his approval to Turel and reached out to touch the creature. "Is nice?" he asked tenatively.
--
Ingina nodded and said, "Hello." Then, she turned to Korotheer and patted him, motioning that she likes the creature. Then, she saw Lorelei entering with her Mum and she waved to her, giving her a shout of "Hello" and beckoning her to join them.

Dragain patted Ko on her back and smiled. "I'm sure it's going top be alright." she criped, hoping to cheer her up. Having heard her name, she turned round and saw Xpressionless. "Hiya!" Dragain said, replying to her gretting. "Come and join us!"
--
Kohenkyo was distracted from replying to Ivy by the stranger. She forced A smile & bobbed her head repectfully.
"I'm Kohenkyo & the winged little guy over there is my son Turel. Nice to see more owners making an appearance here." She said, turning back to Ivy & replying in a somewhat quieter tone.
"They happen nighty & I'm beggining to think that they have something to do with his past life.....I recall Eph saying something about the kids having past lives or something along those lines.." Kohenkyo stated, trying to think things over at the same time.

Turel nodded to Kayin & Ingina, petting Korothiir.
"Is veree nice...No biteses no one." Turel assured Kayin. Korothiir allowed himself to be petted, after all he enjoyed attention.
--
Astraea smiled, shaking Ivy's hand warmly. "Astraea" she replied, bouncing Lorelei against her hip, "and this little lady is Lorelei". Moving toward where the other children where seated, she placed Lorelei beside Ingina before returning to where the adults where seated.

Lorelei grinned at Ingina, gripping the other girls hand and pointing toward the two boys before them. She frowned at the boys, before turning her eyes back to Ingina seeming to ask who they boys where.
--
Kayin wanted to ask Ingina, who obviously knew, who the new girl was but didn't want to seem rude. But the new girl made him slightly nervous, as it should. She didn't put the funny feeling in him like Ingina did the first time they met.

Assured by Turel that the Korothiir was nice, he reached out the pet the creature, enjoying the feel of it. "Is nice." he said in approval.

The new girl was with them now... what was he supposed to do. She didn't look happy to see him... so he just kept his usually half glare/half stare on his face inspecting her.

"Yeah, I know the feeling, I wish I knew what Kayin's past life was... geez, I can't imagine him having nightscares all the time. It must be draining you, no wonder you look worn out sweetie." Ivy patted Kohenkyo on the back and smiled. "If you ever need a night free, I'd be happy to have Turel stay at my place."

"Nice to meet you," she added, facing Astraea. "She's very cute!" Ivy gestured toward Lorelei.
--
Turel was immensely insulted by the frown & proceeded to offer his wing with a blank expression, denoting that he was hardly an enemy. She would certainly make one in him if she was not careful. He hoped that she accepted Kayin also. He would NOT be pleased if she didn't.
"Lo..." He said, offering both hand & wing in a sort of handshake.
--
Ingina smiled and nodded to the two boys. "They okay." Pointing to Kayin first then Turel, she tried saying their names. "Kayein, Tura." Then, she turned to the boys and introduced Lorelei. "Loreli"

Dragain nodded at Ko's comment and said, "I'm sure that there's someway to cure him... It's just that I do not know how..."
--
Kayin nodded as Ingina introduced "Loreli", but he did not put out his hand as Turel had done. Oh no, he'd had enough of that game and didn't find it nessecary to do that act of chivilry any longer. Being a man or not, it hurt when girls touched him. Instead he said, "Heyllo... Lorli." He still wasn't sure about this one and her frowning face.
--
Kohenkyo smiled to Both Dragain & Ivy.
"I'm sure turel wouldn't mind a sleepover. He's nuts about Kayin." Kohenkyo giggled & then yawned, shutting her dream encyclopedia & stuffing it into her rucksack.
"Who knows, he might sleep better with Kayin around." She smiled to herself, leaning back against the counch upon which she was sat.

Turel smiled, glad that Kayin liked Korothiir. The sarnin was enjoying the attention greatly & turned his gaze to Ingina, reaching his head out so that it lay at her feet. He made puppy eyes at the girl as if to say 'pet me?'. turel chuckled at this display & turned to Kayin.
"He like attenshun lots." Turel managed. his words werent quite correct, but he was certainly getting there.
--
Ingina frowned at the boys and said firmly. "Be nice!" She did not like the way Lorelei was looking at them, but she did not like the way the boys were returning those looks either.

Dragain looked as the four infants interact. "One day, they're all going to grow up." She thought and gasped as she realised that she had said it out loud.
--
Lorelei returned Kayin's look, although her expression was far less cold then his own seemed to be. Although he didn't appear to be overly friendly, he also wasn't being openly hostile. With a slight nod she decided that he seemed okay, if not slightly strange. A smile spread across her lips as he introduced himself. "Kayein" she enthused, still smiling at him. Before she had a chance to get to know Kayin better, her attention was drawn away by a wing being extended into the cornor of her vision. Regarding him for a moment longer, she reached gently toward his wing being more careful was his then she had needed to be with Ingina's. In the same moment, she released her and from Ingina's and clasped Turel's as firmly as she could manage.

"It is a pleasure to meet you also" Astraea replied, "both of you". Astraea listened quietly to their conversation, not entirely sure what it was all about. She had managed to discern something about nightmares, and wondered whether Lorelei would experience the same.
--
Kohenkyo let out a tiny giggle as she watched Korothiir wriggle closer to the children for attention.
"That sarnin is such an attention seeker." She smiled, looking over at Dragain.
"They all have to grow up sooner or later." Kohenkyo nodded.

Turel looked at Ingina & sighed.
"I am be nice." He nodded down at his outstretched hand & wing. Korothiir sat up & snuffled at Ingina's face, putting his velvety nose in her lap.
--
"Well then they should, we'll get together sometime and plan it okay? God only knows that where I'm staying is big enough for two boys to play around." Ivy smiled at her, "It'll be good for them, Kayin really likes Turel too." Ivy looked wistfully at the children... "Oh... I know they'll grow, but it's nice having them now like this."

Kayin patted Korothiir once more and then returned to staring at Lorelei, she was... weird... it was weird to hear his name from her, but he didn't mind. Still, he didn't put out his hand for hers. He'd leave that part of business to Turel, whom he felt much more comfortable around and meeting new people was easier with him.
--
Ingina looked on happily as Lorelei made friends with Turel. "No touch Kayein. Okay?" She said. She realised that Kayin might be afraid to touch her. Then, she turned to Korothiir and patted him on the head, giggling happily. "Me likes Korotheer."

Dragain smiled and said slowly. "Well, according to appearances and behavior, I think that we might be able to clear some of our questions..."
--
It made Kayin happy to hear Ingina say what he wanted to. It was a wimpy thing to say himself, but it was okay if she said it. He nodded his thanks to Ingina and gave a brief smile. He shook his head in agreement with Ingina, "Me like Korotheer too." To emphasize he reached out to pet the creature again.
--
Ingina giggled again. Korothiir was tickerlish, and it was funny to see him seeking attention. Then, she turned to Turel and nodded with a smile. "Thank you." she said happily. She had learnt this word from her step-brother and can now pronouce it perfectly.

Dragain sighed and nodded. "I like them this way too..." Dragain said wistfully. "But at least they're enjoying their childhood!"
--
Kohenkyo nodded to all present & smiled, stretching her arms upwards & showing of her rather sharp canines as she yawned.
"Thats good then." Kohenkyo smiled.
"I'll arange something as soon as things quieten down at home. We've got alot going on you see." She stated proudly.

Turel let Lorelei clasp his hand afore withdrawing it & gesturing to Korothiir.
"lorlei, this Korotheer." He introduced the sarnin to the child. Korothiir looked up from Ingina & proceeded to snuffle at Lorelei in a curious fashion. Turel chuckled & watched, looking to each child in turn. He could see though that Kayin was wary of Lorelei & he hoped that he would be alright.
--
Kayin figured that seeing how he was friends with Turel, Ingina, and getting there with Korotheer, he was safe, even though the new girl was there. Still, his momma had said that manners were important so he decided the best line of action was to speak when spoken to and keep with his "polite" stare.

Ivy's mind had wondered off for a time, and by the time it came back she knew she'd been reading far too many romance novels... she gave out a nervous giggle and decided to keep the fact that she'd been day dreaming about who would date who when they were older to herself.
--
Ingina looked up at Kayin's mother and blinked in confusion, as a feeling creeped across her mind. It's that feeling again, Ingina thought. Kayin's mother had been thinking about all of them... And she don't understand. Her mind also caught Turel's mother's feelings and was very surprised. There were so many voices in her head.

Dragain saw the way Ingina was looking at Ivy and wondered why. Ingina had confusion in her eyes, and Dragain decided to find out. "Ivy... May i ask you what you were thinking just now?"

Ingina closed her eyes, and tried to think straight, ignoring the voices in her head.
--
Lorelei giggled as Korothiir snuffled about her, reaching to stroke his dark pelt. Her jade eyes shone with happiness as she turned her smiling face to the other children.

Although she hadn't commented about the conversation the had been going on about her, she agreed that the children seemed to be enjoying themselves and although she still wondered what it they would be like when they were older. Glancing at the wall, she paled as she took in the time. She had promised Leia and Makoto that she wouldn't be long, as the girls had made plans for the afternoon. Rising from her seat, she bowed slightly to the others. "I'm sorry but I have to get going" she stated, regretfully. "It was a pleasure to meet you all" she continued, before walking to where Lorelei sat and scooping the child into her arms.

Lorelei pouted at her mother, although soon realised there was little she could do. Shifting in her mothers arms, she waved goodbye to Ingina, Kayin and Turel. "Bai" she called to them as Astraea said the same to Kohenkyo, Ivy and Dragain., still waving as the door closed behind Astraea.
--
Korothiir was being petted on all sides & loving it! The Sarnin let out a low whicker of happyness & gave his head a shake. Turel patted Korothiir & watched as the Sarnin put his head in Kayin's lap for more attention. Turel giggled & ruffled the creatures mane.
"Korotheer like all you." Turel stated proudly. The Sarnin let out a whicker of approval to Turel's statement.

Kohenkyo looked at her watch & sighed.
"Well guys, its been nice seeing you all again, but me & Turel had better scoot. Plenty of xchores to do back home." Kohenkyo smiled & stood, smiling to all.
"I'll see you all soon." She said, her mood brighter now that she had been calmed by the likes of Ivy & Dragain. She padded over to Turel & picked him up off the floor. Turel objected heavily.
"Say goodbye sweetie, we've got things to do back home." She cooed.

Turel pulled a face & looked down at his friends.
"Bai Kayin, bai Ingina, Bai Lorlei!" He called in an upset tone as his mother carried him out of the HQ. Korothiir gave each of the children a nuzzle on the cheek afore trotting out after his master & Kohenkyo.
--
"Bye Astraea!" Dragain shouted after her.

Ingina waved to Lorelei as she was taken away by her mother and shouted a "Bye" back. Then, she turned her attention back to the others. THe voices in her head had stopped now, and she was feeling much better.
--
Ivy coughed in surprise and looked over at Dragain, "Come again?" Distracted by Astraea leaving she waved and cheerfully added, "Bye!" Looking back at Dragain she felt her cheeks grow warm and knew she was blushing slightly... "Oh.. well..." a surges of giggles tried to erupt from her throat but she fought them back, "I blame the damn book I'm reading, but I was just wondering what they'd be like... 'socially' when they're older. If you catch my drift." She'd emphasized the word "socially" with a wiggle of her eyebrows.

"Oh, see ya, Ko!" she waved again as the woman left.

Kayin watched as the new girl was wisked away by her momma. He waved politely and called out, "Bye." He heard Turel say it too, but it was to him, he didn't want Turel to leave but waved anyway, "Bye Turel! Bye Korotheer!"
--
Dragain stood up and said, "I have to pick Kaimaru up. He's Ingina's step-brother. I'll leave Ingina here for a while... Will it be okay with you Ivy?"

Ingina heard Karimaru's name and looked up. Is Mama going to bring him here? If so, she'll want him and Kayin to meet. He's smart and Ingina likes him lots.

"Karimaru my brother."
--
Kayin pouted at his mother, he didn't want to go. Still he looked over at Ingina and smiled, "I got to go, bai Ingeena!" Then he felt his mother swoop him up. He waved to her from over her shoulder and shouted, "see you latr!"
