If you want a good elf naming guide go buy "Races of the Wild" They have an enumerable amount of prefixes and Suffixes to properly form an elven name.

As an addition to your part on actual roleplaying, Might I suggest speaking on breaking from the whole "good always triumphs over evil" Disney-inspired approach?
Example: In G2, who says that TT (Galvan) will win against Admon (unless Krome has that planned already)? Maybe Admon will succeed. Heck, Devia might just suddenly become proactive and merge with Admon's forces (or at least hinder TT).

*confetti* This is awesome. *book marks it* yay! You have no idea how many of those I used to do...I feel rather rehabilitated actually sweatdrop
Another note about names if you care to add it: Most normal sounding names actually have interesting meanings, for instance I use babynames.com to search for a meaning that I find exemplifies the character then pick and choose which ones I like...for example "Colin" means wolf (for a werewolf character) in Gaelic and yet it's a perfectly normal name.
Anyway *kisses your feet*

I had a roleplay character that was 37 and my friend complained that it was creepy for her to be so old when everyone else was in their teens...
They were all teenage boys, mostly gay. I thought some variety would be nice.

Yoder As an addition to your part on actual roleplaying, Might I suggest speaking on breaking from the whole "good always triumphs over evil" Disney-inspired approach? Oh man, My former best friend abused that bit way too much in his RPs. This is part of why I quit his guild.

They probably have a variant spelling or your name in its original language.

It seems like every name website I go to, my name means something totally different. xp That's something to watch out for, too. If I'm going for meaning in a name I pick, I check several places to corroborate.
PS. Awesome guide. It helps to have it all laid out. heart

Hey, toss in opportunities to role-play characters with disabilities! It could chalk up to some interesting stuff if your character can't see, hear, is mute, or is paralyzed. Not everybody is going to be in tip-top shape, or just the absolute best fighter in the world with senses keener than the paragon animals of those senses.
Sure, nobody wants to imagine what it's like to have a disability but not every key character is going to be perfect in every way, (or at least they shouldn't.)

Hey guys! Comments = coolness, and as soon as I have a bit more time (dependent on whether or not the laptop decides to work) I'll integrate the new stuff ^^

I just read through your section on "brand names" etc. and got to thinking. Do books count? I might be strange but I think a character's favorite book can tell a lot about them. Should I try to avoid using book references in roleplays? I don't do it often, but sometimes I think it'd help people to understand the character...

I promise I haven't forgotten you guys, or the Application thread for that matter. I even have a lovely response to EKA as soon as my brain manages to organize it and I manage to find enough time and lack of procrastination to get it done...
