She laughed again, flicking her tails. "Yes, Ichsas can be so proud of themselves. They're so pretty, but it's a pity some of them have to mar their beauty to knock some sense into them." Indeed, the stallion at her mother's side was rather handsome, but his awful demeanor wrecked his possible chances of being truly beautiful. Pity. "Just can't help but love when the plans others make backfire on them. I can give you one or two examples of that," she said with a chuckle.
"That's wonderful," said the gilded mare with a smile. She wouldn't have to walk so strangely any longer if he could see where he was going. He could see her, too, which was nice. It was a tad odd to talk to someone who couldn't even see what color she was. All the same, he had been very good company.
"At least you'll be able to see, albeit not very clearly. I still can't imagine what it must be like to lose ones eyesight. Or be burned by the sun, that sounds terrible. I really think a blanket from the two-legs would help you out a bit," she said with a nod, flicking an ear.

The white stallion shrugged, blinking as the beginning of colour began to seep into his world from the patch of bright light that was the sun. "It's all I've ever known and I've learned to live with it. It doesn't bother me, save when I'm in a bad mood, but I will definitely have to investigate this blanket idea at some point." Perhaps then he would be able to feed for longer periods and keep the healthy muscle he'd put on since leaving his home territory. He'd always had good endurance but, since leaving, he'd found himself becoming both faster and more agile; both qualities that he intended to keep.
Looking ahead at the spot where he now knew his guide was, Morthan smiled. "Oh, you're gold; how lovely." The details of the mare were still very unclear but the colours of her coat were visible at least. Pale gold and white and... bands about her legs? He thought so, though he couldn't yet be sure and until he was he wasn't willing to comment and risk being mistaken.

"I suppose so. If you live with it your whole life and don't know anything different, I suppose it's fine. But standing here and not hearing the idea until now, it seems absolutely horrid. And I'm glad, a blanket seems like it will help," she said, nodding.
With a laugh and another nod, she flicked her tails. "Yes, gold and white. I assume the gold comes from my father, though I never met him, but I obviously get the white from my mother. She always said my father was a brighter gold than the sun could ever hope to be," she said with a chuckle. "She was very fond of him, I could tell. I still wonder what happened to him, though."
"I assume your sight is getting better?" She hoped so; she wouldn't have to walk like this anymore, and maybe... "Once your eyesight gets a touch better, would you care to turn our walk into a good run? Though I had one not too long ago, just when I spotted you, it would still be nice to have another." At the thought, her whole body seemed to want to just take off right that instant, but she didn't think it fair to leave Morthan there, his eyes still adjusting.

Morthan blinked at the distorted world before him. Well technically speaking he could see now, just not any of the details. Trees were greyish-brown sticks with greenish blobs on them, grass was a smooth carpet and Cressida had an unfinished look about her. Legs were there, head was there but he couldn't yet make out one tail from another or the details of her face.
"I can see well enough to find my way around now," the white stallion said with a thoughtful frown. "I think I could manage a run; I might not be able to see exactly what's in front of me but I can tell smooth ground from obstacles and it would be nice to stretch my legs a little." Morthan smiled and looked from the world ahead back to his companion. He could be mistaken but he thought he could make out her eyes; green. "Ready when you are," he smirked with an eager toss of his head.

She bobbed her head and flicked an ear, weighing the options. He seemed up to the suggestion of running, but not being able to see everything clearly might be disastrous. Still, what fun was life without taking chances? Of course she'd feel awful if something happened on their run because he couldn't see clearly, but if he was up to it, then she wouldn't argue.
With a shake of her mane to toss it to the other side of her neck, she nodded again, unfortunately sending her forelock into her eyes. Oh well. "All right then," she said with a grin, then threw herself into a ground-eating canter. Her mother had always reckoned her fleet of foot, though she didn't know if that was true or if her mother just said it to be nice, but she could outrun a few friends of hers. This was what caused her pace; not slow, but not as fast as was possible for her. She decided it would be a good idea in case Morthan couldn't keep up, and if he surpassed her, she could lengthen her strides to keep up with him. It also had its advantages for Morthan, too, she figured, though she didn't really know.

As the gilded mare sprung away, Morthan bunched his muscles to run after her. She was cantering rather than going at a full gallop and, for the time being, the pace suited him fine. He was just about able to keep up with her sprightly pace without galloping himself and the slower gait was probably a smarter idea until he could see a little better anyway.
…Where were they going anyway? Oh yes! The ocean. He'd forgotten his plan to visit that pace during their conversation but, with the wind whipping at his tails and short mane, he recalled the description of the wind that blew around the coast. The smell, he'd been told, was like nothing else and that went without mentioning the view of endless water that had captivated so many.
Morthan smiled and cantered on; soon he would be able to see if it was all it was cracked up to be and it appeared that he would even get to do that in pleasant company. Perhaps his luck was turning around at last.

With a slight turn of her slender head, she saw that their current pace was good enough for Morthan, so she resigned to stay at such a pace for now. She turned her gaze forward once more. Finally, to the ocean! Perhaps her mother was there? She guessed not, but it was still nice to think so.
She smiled, and tossed her mane, enjoying the feeling of the wind rushing through it. No matter how many times a day she got a good run, another was always wonderful, especially with such pleasant company. Poor stallion, though, hopefully he'd take her advice and work on a blanket from the two-legs. She didn't know if it would help or not, but it certainly was worth a try, in her opinion.
She flicked an ear, suddenly thinking of her tree in Shrilal. She hadn't visited in a while, and had a small, strange feeling that she needed to go there again. Huh, that was odd. Oh well, she would visit it soon, maybe after the visit to the ocean. She ignored the subtle feeling for now, simply wanting to enjoy the pleasant run with Morthan.
