Epo brought the speeder bike to a halt at the front of the shipyard. He dismounted and started walking towards the only people there, "Pleasure to meet you, sir, the names Epo."

Gerhard was looking at Holsk as Epo pulled in. "This isn't repair shop work, I believe I said that already. It doesn't matter how good you are. If you lose your head while we're being shot at, we're toast no matter how many junkers you've jury-rigged in that garage." He trailed off as Epo entered the lounge. Well, he did say he was good, thought Gerhard. "Okay, then," he said out loud, "Now that we've got a decent crew, I'll show you the Opportunity." Gesturing to the others to follow, he headed out the back door of the lounge and into a huge circular docking bay, in which the one YT-2000 and two fighters were landed.

"Nice ship. Though i need to take a look at some things before we take off." Holsk ran into the engine room to look at the hyperdrive unit. What he saw made him gasp. "Hey boss, looks like someone is trying to put you out of business. The hyperdrive was sabatoged. I can fix it, but it will take about five minutes."

Gerhard tried to grab the Twi'lek as he dashed off into the ship, but missed. He didn't make the same mistake when the fool came rushing back out telling him that his hyperdrive was sabotaged. He caught hold of Holsk's collar and held him a bit too firmly in front of him. "Two things, shorty," he growled. "One, this is my ship, and you don't 'have' to look at anything." Gerhard paused to make sure that his new engineer was paying attention. "And two," he continued, "the cooling fins are supposed to look like that, so you don't tell me what is or isn't broken 'til you know the ropes. Get it?" Releasing Holsk, Gerhard continued into the ship, motioning for the other two to follow. "The first thing I'd like to show you is a custom hyperdrive unit I had installed on Kuat. Its unique radiator gives it a huge advantage in fuel economy, effectively doubling our range..."

Epo followed him, not talking, "Convinient." He muttered, after hearing about the hyperdrive, "But I prefer a nice Basilisk, if you happen to come across one..."

"That's what i mean. The cooling flaps are gone." Holsk massaged his neck. Jeez, i was just doing my job. He looked at Gerhard. So this is my new boss. Better be careful. What have i gotten myself into.

((Okay, sasuke. The IC post was supposed to be a not-so-subtle message not to direct the RP. So now I'm syaing it OOC. Don't tell me that someone sabotaged my ship, at least not without having a plot to back it up. If we had been caught by a Star destroyer, and recently escaped our prison cells and were making a break for the ship, that kind of thing might be cool. When we're on a Core World, in a shipyard in broad daylight, and haven't even done anything illegal yet, no.))
Arrogant little lizard-monkey, thought Gerhard. He pointed to one of the fist-sized hemispheres protruding from the wall every half-meter or so. "Okay, you see this knob sticking out? Stand back in the doorway and watch." He opened a panel in the hyperdrive unit and pulled a handle. The bump, and part of the unit below it, slid out, revealing an extendable arm with rows of sleek fins attatched to it and a servo that allowed everything from the length of the arm to the angle of the fins to be adjusted. "Not gone. Customized." Good thing he had brought Epo on board for this, no way he was trusting Holsk with a quad laser cannon. "Now, if you will follow me, I can show Merric and Epo where their gunning stations will be, if it becomes necessary. And it probably will," he finished, allowing himself to grin broadly at the two obvious veterans. Gerhard wanted to get this over with quickly, there was ready money, as soon as he told that "entrepreneur" ((sp?)) that he could carry for him.
((If you can't guess by this, we'll be running spice for our first mission until I can get another escort pilot or two. If you know anyone else who likes RP, get them in here.))
