Description:Erik dresses in a standard white dress shirt, with a red tie, and a pair of dark dress slacks. He wears a standard black leather belt. Usually he wears a holster harness that goes around his shoulders and behind his back, with a standard issue 9mm pistol kept there. Over that, he usually wears a dark long coat, sort of like what you’d expect a detective might wear. On occasion he will wear a police badge from a chain, depending on the situation, although more often, he keeps his badge in his inner coat pocket. His hair is usually kept somewhat short but spiked up a bit, keeping most of his hair out of the way of his eyes. During the day, he wears a pair of sunglasses. He also wears on occasion, a nice fedora hat.
He’s a fairly young detective, so he doesn’t look like a typical ‘hardened police detective’. He doesn’t have much in the way of distinguishing features, unless you count his outfit or his non-hardened police detective look.
Character Personality:Eric's a pretty nice person, with a very inquisitive mind. He's a very observant, contemplative person, who tends to observe his surroundings before rushing into things. Part of this really works well with his job as a detective, where he can use his analytical mind to figure through problems and sort through clues in search of facts. He's also very patient at times, although when he does act, he does act quickly and decisively in his actions. The few years he's had on the job has only helped put a sharper edge on his already keen mind, and combined with his patience, he can be quite dogged in his ability to stay on a case.
Because of the pressures of working as a police detective, Eric has spent a few years practicing yoga, as a way to stay calm, relaxed, and focused, both at and away from work. Being able to stay focused and relaxed even in the middle of a crime scene works out well for him, since it helps him think about the crime and any potential clues that might be found.
Character History:Born and raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Eric had a pretty average childhood. In school, he was an above average student, and was on the track and field team. Mostly the reason for being on the track and field team was because he wasn't really big like most football players and never was good at playing basketball, so he went with a sport that would look ok on his college application. It also worked well in keeping him fit. It wasn't until College that he decided he wanted to join the police force and so he went to school to major in Criminal Justice.
College prepared him somewhat for being a police officer, but only to a certain point. After college, he went to a police academy for a bit, where he was recruited by a New York City police department.
When he first joined the police department, he was a regular beat cop. After two years of being on the job, he was transferred to the Criminial Investigation Department. Since then, Eric has maintained a good performance level in his work. He's worked on both high level and small scale cases, and worked in conjunction with many different departments in the police department during that time.
