Where would be the best place for a 35 NE hunter be to do grinding to get to 40 as soon as possible and make enough money for mount training.

as far as grinding for xp im not to sure but grinding for money hit up darkshire mobs and mobs there but for xp if your 35 do all the stv quests they took me from 37-41 in no time and got decent money

Professions are you best source of income at that level. Just quest to level 40, level herbalism and farm Fadeleaf in STV/Arathi Highlands.

Go do the quests in shimmering flats, the quests at nessy's camp in stv, and maybe a few other quests here.
Pure grinding and pure questing gets you no where slowly, the best thing to do is pick up grinding quests or go fetch me this quests, where you will be killing large amounts of enemies in short amounts of time.
Oh, and kill EVERYTHING on your way to whereever you go.
