Yay I am glad you like the idea, though it may limit usability of character combos ...unless you are really creative xp We will have to see what the other participants here think. *nudge nudge* and any ideas for prizes? With just a few people, I wouldn't imagine it would need to be too big...but enough to encourage effort of course 3nodding

Where should we post our stories when they're done? Or ought we to serialize them? Would it be OK to start a personal fanfic topic, for instance, in the fanfic sub forum?

If it were in the fanfic subforum, I don't see why there would be a problem with it. Then again, I'm not a mod sweatdrop But it sounds good to me. How many participants do we have in total so far? It would be nice to have a solid number to grasp on to...and other details as well...
back to guidelines and prizes...I have never given anything as a prize...and I don't have too much. Any ideas?

Seems to me that the original contest prize was going to be gold. Contestants paid an entry fee and I assume that the winner would receive the gold that accumulated from all the entry fees.
I think this is a good way to handle the prize, personally.

That sounds fair to me as well. However, multiple people paid the fee, not just the few of us here. And we paid it to the mule which we don't have access to. For that we would need approval. However, we could have our own fee-handling...
In that case, however, we would definitely need outside fair judging of any contest. They would have to be the one managing our fees as well...
If we can get a mod to work with us, they can dole out the appropriate prize from only our fees from the mule, I suppose...if that's how it works. Any mods reading this thread???

Speaking from a logical standpoint, I dunno if gold is the best prize. After all, a little browsing, a little posting, maybe a game or two, and you've got plenty. The best incentive would be to do a prize that people can't get their hands on easily.
