Art by Sejii! <3 Cecil Milner III Name: Cecil Milner The Third Age: 18 Birthday: May 20th, 1988 Birthplace: New York City Ethnicity: Greek American Description: Cecil is a bit tall, about 5'8. He's a reasonable size, a little bit lanky, a tad pale, but that's all that's awkward about him. When he gets there, he's wearing a loose, dark red sweater. He also has a pair of light khakis, scribbled all over the place are pieces faded writing, penned when Cecil didn't have a notebook on him. Occasionally, there's a small pair of reading glasses are balanced on his nose. His curly, almost brown dirty blond hair is hidden by a simple black beanie. Around his neck at all times is a knit scarf, hiding the hole in his throat left from the surgery. Sometimes it's a bright colored one, sometimes it's a dark colored one, it depends on his mood. Quirks: Cecil knows that actions speak louder than words, and seeing that his only words he can say are on paper (Or in a hoarse, sandpapery voice), his actions have to dictate what he feels, facial expressions, hand gestures, anything to get his point across. Words can only do so much alone. There's no smoke without fire, there's no words without movement. He's very moody. They change as much as the weather, happy one moment, sad the next. It's hard to predict his reaction to things. Whenever he's in a certain mood, he usually won't go out of his way to show it. Cecil would hug you if he was feeling particularly happy. He'll crack his fists when he's angry, and if the situation allows itself, he won't hesitate to punch you. When he's sad, he'll cry, he might try to hide it, but he doesn't do much to do so. You get the idea. It's just important to him for people to understand him. Living in the city all his life, Cecil's grown accustomed to meeting new people, so he's friendly to everyone, even complete strangers. He's not shy at the least, because there's no possible way to sound awkward around others when people have to read what you say, writing everything down is just easier. People stay around him because he's just so... Interesting. He's also polite to women, being raised by his mom and all, it just kinda rubbed on him. On that note, his grandfather had taught him to settle for what he's got. To not be picky, because "In the old days, we got nothin' but the clothes on our backs and peanuts to our name." There's a certain boldness about him, if he wants to do something, he'll do it. He's not stupid, of course, he thinks a little before he acts, but he usually ends up doing it anyway. Unless it was completely insane. Even then though, he might still do it. Likes: Writing, being around people, going out, acting out, acting, being different, strange things, fantasy and science fiction novels along with any kind of music on his Ipod. Dislikes: Assholes. Cecil's Bio Hiya, I'm Cecil Milner the Third. My name's been in the family since my grandfather, and now I have it, slightly used, but the "The Third" part has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? But enough about that, let's get on with the biography. I don't know where to start, so much to talk about, but I only have so much paper in my notebook, and I need some of it later for whoever I run into. The beginning works. I don't remember a lot from my childhood, not any specific memories anyway. I had a fond childhood for a kid in Manhattan. I mean, my parents were well off, we have a apartment near the park and the museums, so there was always something to do. Heck, this is New York City we're talking about, there was always something to do. Like his immigrant father, my dad's a stockbroker, hence the nice apartment and all, though he was always busy. He was a smoker too, even when I was little, he always had a pack a day. He stopped eventually, but I'll get into that later. With my dad on Wall Street, I was always with my mom, my dad on weekends, either way, we usually walked around the streets doing errands and going places... I loved going to musicals especially, it was expensive, so they were rare, but stuff like Tommy and Chorus Line... Good stuff. Now that I think of it, I hardly remember doing anything at home except helping my mom with the dishes. Oh yeah, and going places with grandpa. Elementary school was for me like everyone else, fun and exciting. I had friends, the same ones I have to this day actually. It was pretty fun. Like most of my childhood, I don't really remember specifics... Wait, there was that time where I was mad so I threw a pencil box at some kid's head because I was mad at them... And the times where I sat at the girl's table, and then eventually got all the boys to sit at the girls table... I don't remember being good at any one subject, though math I needed help with for a while. I'm just throwing out random thoughts, aren't I? I'm just remembering some of this stuff, just bear with me. High school was the same way, one big adventure. Got into the drama club, did a few plays. I've had one or two big parts during senior year, but other than that, I was an extra. I loved performing anyway, was thinking about it for a career, after all, when Broadway was a subway ride away, why not? With senior year getting close, I was planning on a theater major. And then that happened. Still haven't forgiven my dad for it. They thought I had a bad case of bronchitis or something. I mean, come on, most people with Laryngeal cancer are five times my age. But when the symptoms didn't go away, they finally diagnosed me with it, the only cause they found logical was secondhand smoke. Probably from when I was very little, when dad smoked the most.. A few moments after finding that out, I walked out of the room, went up in front of my dad, and broke his nose. The doctors said that my case was serious, it had time to develop into stage three, which meant a total laryngectomy. Let's just say... I wasn't too keen on having my voice box removed. But it was the only way to keep the cancer from spreading. So I talked to a voice pathologist and a few social workers, they gave me a artificial voice box, you know, those things you see old smokers use? I didn't like that. I decided learn how to use it for the heck of it though, might as well. They said that after the surgery they could teach me how to talk using my Stoma without the help of the voice box. Well, I said I'd take them up on that offer, but right now I didn't feel like thinking about having a hole in the middle of my throat. The last option was to write everything down. That seemed the most normal way to go. I decided to take a year off after graduation to get used to this new life. I have to admit, it was hard to remember that you couldn't really talk anymore. It took some getting used to. I took a job at the American Natural history museum as a sign language tour guide to keep myself busy. Besides, what job is better for a person like me than one that doesn't need you to talk? Learning sign language was a plus too, especially when you became friends with just about every deaf person in New York. I was getting used to being quiet. I also started writing, not just for communicating, but, you know, just for fun. I'm actually considering of majoring in something in writing, maybe Creative writing. I don't know yet though.

Kitsune
Kitsune are believed to possess superior intelligence, long life, and magical powers. They are a type of yōkai, or spiritual entity, and the word kitsune is often translated as fox spirit. However, this does not mean that kitsune are ghosts, nor that they are fundamentally different from regular foxes. Because the word spirit is used to reflect a state of knowledge or enlightenment, all long-lived foxes gain supernatural abilities.
There are two common classifications of kitsune. The myōbu are benevolent, celestial foxes associated with Inari; they are sometimes simply called Inari foxes. On the other hand, the wild nogitsune (野狐) (literally, field foxes) tend to be mischievous or even malicious. Local traditions add further types. For example, a ninko is an invisible fox spirit that human beings can only perceive when it possesses them. Another tradition classifies kitsune into one of thirteen types defined by which supernatural abilities the kitsune possesses.
Physically, kitsune are noted for having as many as nine tails. Generally, a greater number of tails indicates an older and more powerful fox; in fact, some folktales say that a fox will only grow additional tails after it has lived 1,000 years. One, five, seven, and nine tails are the most common numbers in folk stories. When a kitsune gains its ninth tail, its fur becomes white or gold. These kyūbi no kitsune (nine-tailed foxes) gain the abilities to see and hear anything happening anywhere in the world. Other tales attribute them infinite wisdom (omniscience).
A kitsune may take on human form, an ability learned when it reaches a certain age — usually 100 years, although some tales say 50. As a common prerequisite for the transformation, the fox must place reeds, a broad leaf, or a skull over its head. Common forms assumed by kitsune include beautiful women, young girls, or elderly men. These shapes are not limited by the fox's age or gender, and a kitsune can duplicate the appearance of a specific person. Foxes are particularly renowned for impersonating beautiful women. Common belief in medieval Japan was that any woman encountered alone, especially at dusk or night, could be a fox.
In some stories, kitsune have difficulty hiding their tails when they take human form; looking for the tail, perhaps when the fox gets drunk or careless, is a common method of discerning the creature's true nature. Variants on the theme have the kitsune retain other foxlike traits, such as a coating of fine hair, a fox-shaped shadow, or a reflection that shows its true form. Kitsune-gao or fox-faced refers to human females who have a narrow face with close-set eyes, thin eyebrows, and high cheekbones. Traditionally, this facial structure is considered attractive, and some tales ascribe it to foxes in human form. Kitsune have a fear and hatred of dogs even while in human form, and some become so rattled by the presence of dogs that they revert to the shape of a fox and flee. A particularly devout individual may be able to see through a fox's disguise automatically.
One folk story illustrating these imperfections in the kitsune's human shape concerns Koan, a historical person credited with wisdom and magical powers of divination. According to the story, he was staying at the home of one of his devotees when he scalded his foot entering a bath because the water had been drawn too hot. Then, "in his pain, he ran out of the bathroom naked. When the people of the household saw him, they were astonished to see that Koan had fur covering much of his body, along with a fox's tail. Then Koan transformed in front of them, becoming an elderly fox and running away."
Other supernatural abilities commonly attributed to the kitsune include possession, mouths or tails that generate fire or lightning (known as kitsune-bi; literally, fox-fire), willful manifestation in the dreams of others, flight, invisibility, and the creation of illusions so elaborate as to be almost indistinguishable from reality. Some tales speak of kitsune with even greater powers, able to bend time and space, drive people mad, or take fantastic shapes such as a tree of incredible height or a second moon in the sky. Other kitsune have characteristics reminiscent of vampires or succubi and feed on the life or spirit of human beings, generally through sexual contact.

About Cecil's Elements
Fire- Cecil, before and after his surgery, had always been an emotional person. He frequently reaches each extreme of emotion. Yeah, he has his in-betweens, but since losing his voice, they don't show themselves too often.
Water- Cecil knows how to deal with things. Things happen, and as much as he tries to fight it, Cecil knows when to give in. You don't want him angry though, and you don't want to tell him bad news.
Mind- He's quick to act, always going with whatever the situation takes him. Partly of why he got into acting was watching from improv sessions and watching shows like Who's line is it anyway.
