Why aren't there more thread in this part of the forum? =O
Anyways. Ulver makes alot of VERY different music. For those who live in Norway and could/have seen Uno, all the instrumental parts in that film is made by this band.
BUT! They have made some great black metal aswell. Their album Bergtatt is just fantastic. Why? Everyone I've played it for loves it, no matter if they are fans of black metal or not. (Except my dad, but thats 'cause he's my dad =p)
In the beginning of the first song "I Troldskog Faren Vild" the music is very melodic and not too heavy, together with clean male vocals. I guess it's only the guitars that are very black metal.(still a great song
3nodding ) And then the second track starts. Both the music and vocals are now true black metal.
The thing about this album that might be a bit dissapointing for non scandinavians is that it's a story. So for example in the middle of song three you will have some sounds that are supposed to sound like someone walking in the woods. I was once asked if they were chewing on the microphone here
xd I had a look around on the internet to see if I could find a translation, but I didn't. =( However, the
bottom review here tells you what the story is about at least.
Listen to it please?
http://www.myspace.com/ulvermetalWolf and Fear, and Wolf and Passion is from another album. Still good songs.
And I would write more if I knew someone was interested and would read this... and I had more battery on my laptop =p
Maybe I'll come back and edit..
