I hope I don't get yelled at for this, but...

I think thin girls are beautiful.

I also think large girls are beautiful.

I don't understand how there's such a huge doublestandard here. We, of all people, should understand what it's like to be looked down on for something as trivial as appearance. But now you're doing it to others?

Personally, I think healthy, fit girls are the most attractive. That doesn't mean thin. It just means... well, healthy. And if society pressured women to get into shape, I'd be all for it.

Though I'll agree that asking women to starve themselves is wrong.

You're not going to get knocked for speaking your piece, just as long as you don't knock us for ours. This guild was made for us, the bigger people *and big people lovers* to speak our minds...to talk about what bothers us, to talk about we like/dislike, and so the people here who enjoy being large or like people who are larger in frame will probably not talk about slim people with high regard...and it's their opinion and they can do what they want as long as they are not coming right out and bashing them for how they look, THEN they are being hypocritical. I don't base worth on size...slim, chubbeh...all that matters is that you have a good heart and you're honest/genuine.

A large *no pun intended* of men in this guild prefer a big girl...but a while back one member posted a pic of herself in lingerie and she was slim...and I was shocked that the hardcore big girl lovers/feeders were going ga ga over the pic, especially when they are always telling us big girls how much they love our curves and how they don't particularly care for slim ladies. They couldn't even explain their actions, so I soon learned that even though people may have preferences, it doesn't mean they don't appreciate different characteristics in other women.

I think there are some mighty fine slim ladies around but there are some women who do NOT look good slim...they would look better with some added weight *Renee Zellweger for example...I LOVED how she looked in Bridget Jones, but as soon as the movie was over she shed all of the weight she added and then some, now she just looks scrawny as ********* but unfortunately too many women feel that they have to reach an unrealistic standard of beauty and they constantly knock themselves for not looking like every other slim girl in the world.

As always tessie, you seem able to phrase eloquently and sensatively the things I can only express as a mild "umm...yeah >>".

Skinny actresses...My Mom tells me to ever become a actress when I get older I have to lose weight and look like one of those girls with no curves. My Mom says she doesn't want me to look like that, but if I want to be an actress I have to look like that. I don't want to look like that, want to be myself. Though I lose weight to please the people around me..for to be the weight I am I'll never make it in life in what I want to do.. sweatdrop Sound such a dumbass right now.

No you don't. It is not impossible to be an actress and be fat. It is hard. Hard as hell. But possible. It is hard to get a respectable part though. I've been told that as well. And I have to admit that it does hold some water. I as a fat chick in plays am usually cast as:

1)Comic relief (most often with some kind of physical comedy. fat people fall down well...~_~)

2)Emotional background character (the best thing I have gotten so far. I like having a good char to work with instead of being the lead)

3)Member of the chorus/some singer type. (I can sing...but not Aretha...OK!!!? *glares at all who think that way* And if any of you say anything about the chick with horns on her helmet and armor I will HAVE to HURT you. ~_~)

4) The main character's mother (or someone's mother and this one I resent...with a passion, unless it is combined with number 2)

The thing you can do though, that will get directors thinking about you seriously...is taking any one of these parts and making it good. You may only have one line...or you may have been typecast...but if you make it good....people forget you are the"fat chick" in the play. lol Don't steal the show...but act your a** off. twisted They won't typecast you or ignore you next time a casting call is up. ^_^ Be yourself. Don't change just because someone wants you to. Always be you.

I firmly believe that if the whole part of the population got together without being self riteous and indignant about being over weight, we could create our OWN Hollywood, with our own beautiful stars, and make as many movies fit big, beautiful actors and actresses as we want! smile

Good idea, but since we would have a smaller target audince then your standard movie our productions costs would have to be lower. No to little speical effects, no trailers for stars, no Craft Food service table etc. Basically your standard indie movie situation, less gltiz but more focus on plot and charther delvopment.

Hey, if you have the talent size shouldn't matter. Just do what you love best and screw socities standards. 3nodding

Frankly I don't mind seeing thin people (my crush weighs a meager sixty kilos and is taller than me at my 1.70 and he looks lovely), but I think the bigger issue is that these people being rolemodels are becoming so thin that you know it's unhealthy. Looking like you had a two year stint in Auschwitz is not good! I find it becoming more and more schocking and as a counter-reaction somehow I feel more and more comfortable in my own flesh.

Haha. Yea. What makes me mad is that Marilyn Monroe(sp?) is now considered plus size.
