This comes out of the movie I saw, and I think it deserves its own thread.

As I was talking to vax over MSN tonight, I realized a few things. As human beings, we are not even grateful that we experience moments of happiness. Instead, we tend to focus on the bad things in life and try to minimize them as much as possible. A lot of our effots are directed at trying to reduce the amount of time we have to suffer. However, what if the plan that God (or whoever) has for us can only be achieved through moments of suffering? And, when you think about it, don't we usually improve our living situations as we get older? When we're teenagers, we're at school and living with our parents and we hate it, but then we're on our own, maybe bachelors for a while, then we get married, have houses and cars and children of our own. Yet, even though we have all these things we did not have before, we tend to focus on what happens which is bad to us, rather than thinking about, "I have all these things that I never had before." Just watching Premonition was enough to convince me of this, since the good things that came out of the one really bad thing don't matter. It's just, "OMG, look at the horrible event. Everything's ruined." Well, no, maybe it's not. Maybe things are better after the bad thing happens...and this could be what God is intending, if he could be said to have any intentions at all.

Nevermind...

Drugs actually have very little to do with it. Just because I smoke pot doesn't mean it runs my life, I don't think people realize that. Anyone that drinks, well that's the way I smoke. It doesn't run my life. It's a fun, casual thing to do. My happiness has nothing to do with drugs, it has to do with the fact that I appreciate what I have.

I wasn't just talking to you. People seem to think they're better than someone else just because they choose to smoke up. It's really annoying sometimes.
