it's a good card.
for GU get out a 1/1 that has you reveal the top card of your deck, if it's a land it's put into play, if it's not a land it's added to your hand.

not much of a downside there, especially in a good Simic deck where speed is real important.
sheerly looking at power and toughness it's a little short, but it's ability makes up for that completely and then some.

but, how do you break something as simple as the Coling Oracle?

(Bonus question, try not to think too hard, but it's a Snake, Elf, Druid, what kind of terrible er, spur of the moment thought would create such a abomination?
there are no Orochi in Ravinca....)

The 'Coiling Oracle' as you put it is a rather bizarr card in its origins it reigns from South-Western Australia and has a mighty foraging ability....

LOL i mean come on it is a bad a** card it is a beat stick that only cost two he eiither grabs a land or draws a card he is good plus he is a Snake-Elf he is good in either deck plus a 4 of in any decent simic build that i have ever run or seen

it's a 1/1 for 2, not exactly beatstick material....
Yes i know, i'm just, busy examining him at his core to determine how to turn powerful into broken.
and what better what to make peoples faces turn then a 1/1 with a comes into play effect that doesn't hurt my opponent directly?

like you guys said its got a good ability if your playing simic but as for power it may be low, but then again come on a 1/1 on second turn is generally expected... if you wanna a real power house for two try the G/W card by the name of Watchwolf its a 3/3 for one green and one white, i got for of them in my selesnya deck =]

And how doe the already widely popular knowledge of the Watchwolf being a good turn two drop help me learn to break the Coiling Oracle?
theres more then power/toughness, ability, and cost in a card.

My friend uses it in a deck that uses Cloudstone Curio that uses it and cards like wood elves to get out tons of lands and with the oracle draw cards, but its more of a casual deck.

sounds interesting.
I Wonder if Bouncing it constantly every turn with Momir Vig in play would work out in a entirely purely positive way.
uh, play Momir. play Oracle, pick a creature, put on top of deck, reveal, add to hand, revela top card of deck, land into play, otherwise into hand.
that would be a total of +3 cards each turn....
good, but then it's bouncing the Oracle.

I think i got it.
Mark of Eviction on Coiling Oracle.
Play the Oracle, reveal the top card of the deck (as per it's effect, shuffle around a bit since either the land comes into play or the card is added to your hand.)
Play mark of Eviction on Coiling Oracle, during your next upkeep the oracle and mark of Eviction are added back to your hand, so you can play them again.
It's better if you can get soem of these into play
Circu, Dimir Lobotomist
Momir Vig, Simic Visionary

that way i get to draw a card, then by paying UUG
remove the top two cards of my opponents library (1 for Mark of Eviction, and 1 for Coiling Oracle) and all copies of those cards cannot be played.
then, I get to search my deck for a creature card, and put it ontop of my deck, reveal the top card of my deck, and if it's a creature, it's added to my hand.
Finally, I get to reveal the top card of my deck, if it's a land, it's brought intp play, otherwise it's added to my hand.
every turn, for UUG

too much setup though..... and it takes three colors.

Coiling Oracle seems like a decent card in any GUW Momentary Blink decks. Throw those in with some hierarchs, mystic snakes, and any good come into play abilities. (avalanche riders?)

Coiling Oracle Play Followed Footsteps on Oracle.
for giggles play Shielding Plax too.
If you wish, you can play Momir Vig too.
