Just as Mama Bwawa watches over the Swamps, Yemaya looks over the Oceans, and other gods protect the Desert, Sky...now the Savannah's guardian has been reborn.

Domain: The Savannah

What is it?
Quote:
Essentially lowland tropical and subtropical grassland, generally with a scattering of trees and/or shrubs. If woody growth is absent it is termed a grass savannah; with shrubs and no trees, a shrub savannah; or with shrubs and widely irregularly scattered trees, a tree savannah.

Quote:

African savannahs are home to elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, numerous species of antelope, and many carnivores and scavengers such as lions, crocodiles, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, hunting dogs, and vultures.

Quote:
For many thousands of years, nomadic herding communities have exploited savannahs, moving their cattle to the most productive pastures and thereby reducing the risk that any one area of grassland will become overgrazed. As a consequence of the expanding human population, however, cattle are now frequently kept in vast numbers in one place.

Powers and duties: Like many gods, most of his powers are latent and is many ways intertwined with others. The savannah's of the world would still exist without him lifting a paw, and the rain that sustains it aren't under his control, nor is the sun that shines upon it. Those are another god's domain.

However he can affect the savannah. How I've not decided yet. But he will have the usual powers of illusion and flight that his fellow gods have.

History: Most native cultures know how to herd their cattle without damaging the savannah's and so he has never bothered with them. But now, in the 1950s, there are more cattle and more humans than ever and traditional ways have changed. Where the Shadows of Africa live is pretty unpopulated, sve for the one african village but in his last incarnation, this god confronted a new and wasteful settlement that tried to stay in the Southlands - he watched and found that they were not like the normal tribal natives who were as much a part of the savannah's as any lion or gazelle.

He drove the would be villagers away but not before their priest, who recognised the lion-god as what he was, cursed him. It was a slow and painful death, hard to be reborn from, but he doesn't care. The beautful and wild Southlands are where his heart belongs and no cattle over grazed it to ruin so his death was a small price to pay. The Southlands and surrounding savannahs are protected~

Name: Maybe Kianga'fi'kiwara - Sunlight on the Savannah. Still looking for something better, since that's a bit girly, ne? XD'

Okay, so, rubbish reference since this brick hates me and I can't draw lions at all. >.> And I'd be getting him as a cub, but wanted his two tone mane on there...

Basically, he's a brown-tawny lion with classic Pridelander like markings. Save for his wings, which are like those of the savannah vuture and golden markings up his legs - these symbolise the grass of the savannahs. These markings are 'abstract' and simular to those on the Mteo and Ela lions.
His mane is dark on top and fades down the sides to a lighter brown under his chin. On his forehead is a star symbol of guardianship. He wears a pendant on a gold chain of the Dwennimmen symbol of humility and strength.
