Must people have heard of the pair, but shrug it off because Chouji is chubbier than most. You might be one of those people, and not even realize it!

Why ChouIno
I personally hate the fact that Shikamaru x Ino is more popular than Chouji x Ino, when ChouIno has been WAY more hinted at, and that ShikaIno is kind of...Messed up. At least, that's how I see it.
Ino is the only one who can get away with calling Chouji fat without getting the crap beaten out of. This is, obviously, not just because she's a girl. He doesn't even twitch when he scolds her for being bigger than normal. He usually doesn't say anything about it, or even twitch.
Yet it seems, he's always asking Ino why she's dieting, and saying things like: What if that guy doesn't like thin girls? I believe that he's referring to himself, and hoping someday Ino will notice this. Even Shikamaru has noticed.
'Don't worry, Chouji. Someday she'll learn to look past looks.' Shikamaru says, after Ino and Chouji have a little chat about Chouji going on a diet.
It's obvious that Ino really likes Chouji's personality. She said so herself: 'You've got a great personality, not caring what people think about you.' While Ino is oblivious to his crush, she is showing her OWN crush at the same time, by trying to get him to diet. She's being very shallow-minded, because she won't date him while he's 'big boned', but she still likes him.
The first hint for this pairing was when Ino came in and brought Chouji fruit when he was in the hospital after the chuunin exams. Chouji got all excited, and was thinking: I guess big-bones are in now!

Possibilities of Canon
As I stated before, it's obvious both characters harbor a crush on one-another, but each of them wants change, at the same time. Ino needs character development, and I believe Chouji will be the one to give her that. I believe he is the only one who can give her that.
If you take Shikamaru into the picture, it seems he's alone - no. ShikaTema is one of the most canon pairings in the series, thus, I can imagine him happy for Ino and Chouji. They are two of his greatest friends, and he's obviously in on Chouji's feelings for Ino, which makes me think he's rooting them on.
If ChouIno happens, Chouji gets what he deserves, and Ino gets some nice development. =) It's all for the best, I tell you! [Introduction]

I honestly don't know.. I think Ino cares about him but-- wouldn't that be hypocritical of her to marry him since she said quote 'Guys only like girls who are skinny and vice versa' or whatever...Unless that was one of those goddamn fillers!
