okay, so this guy i have known for about a month and a half asks me out, right? I say yes, caught up in the moment, and agree to go to prom with him. I really don't think I like him the way he likes me...What can I do? How can I tell him?

Hmmmmm, I'm no expert here, but I think the best way to handle this is to go up to him, and IN PRIVATE, NOT PUBLIC carefully and slowly tell him that you don't like him like that. If you want to, you can still just be friends. This is my advice, but I have no experience in this subject so, any better ideas are welcomed. Oh, almost forgot an important part. You still gotta go to prom with him. You already gave him your word that you would, so there's no way out of it, besides lying of course.

Truth - nothing but the truth.
If he's a decent guy, you do have to honor your word and go with him to the prom. But make sure he understands how you feel first.
Tell him you would like to talk to him, make sure you are in a private place. Tell him somethings that you like about him, then add the BUT. Explain that you would like to go with him to the prom, but that you just want to be friends, that you don't feel the same way for him as you think he does about you. Tell him you don't want to hurt him so you wanted to let him know up front. Also tell him, if your feelings were to change, you would let him know.
