Traveling the Seas
Credit given to a local watress in my town
There once was a Dolphin
Who’s father had a bad coughin’
She couldn’t help him stop
It was affecting his flop
So She began to look for medicine;
The first ocean was big
The Dolphin felt smaller than a twig
Miles of deep dark trench
She might as well sit on a bench
For She would rather do trig;
The next ocean was full
Fish swam with groovin’ soul
She asked directions for a Doc
The fish merely mock
As She swam to the hole;
The hole was very dark
Rocks gave Her their mark
As She exited the tunnel
She was swept into a funnel
Of the unexpected Shark;
The Shark was very silent
She was surprised He could smell her scent
Swimming in circles
His drool trickles
As She begins to repent;
“I need a Doc!” She had to plead
“My father is in desperate need”
“I’ll lead the way
But You’ll have to pay”
Said the Shark taking the lead;
The Shark knew of someone good
He warned of all dangerous battles He could
But She was still eager
‘Fore Her dad had a seizure
Continuing as far as They should;
An underwater current roared
Swimming in it They soared
Many twists and turns
She complained”My fin burns”
As Their poor, rushed bodies were floored;
Fish gossiped of this strange team
They had nothing to do it would seem
Both Shark and Dolphin were talking
About His days silking
The fish scales from the stream;
In a dangerous little sea
His shark friends came to be
Disgrateful at the sight
They wanted to take a bite
Of the flesh of poor She;
A fight broke out
The other sharks gnashed His snout
While the Dolphin hid
A stray shark slid
And opened his mouth for a “BIG trout”;
Injured was the Dolphin’s tail
The Shark Partner made them all bail
As He tried to help Her
Have Doc make her live for sure
As She gave an offensive wail;
Finally, They reached Doc Geri
He took care of the Dolphin very
For he did not want Her to die
The Shark worried with a sigh
As She healed and was merry;
Doc Geri followed them home
Through the reef and seaweed comb
For Her father was sick
They passed trenches in a nick
For They were ready to finish the roam;
At last, They were there
But Her father was in no need of care
“It went as you did,” said father
The Dolphin felt bad for the wasted ether
And slunk slowly upon a cliff with a little scare;
The Shark appeared to She
Both were not in any glee
“I’ve helped Your day
Now You must pay
In telling whether you’ll marry Me?”
