I was just diving down and then it stood in front of me!

I didn't have trouble fighting either. I had a good strategy. But for some horrible reason I lost the underwater materia and always ran out of air before I could finish it off gonk I must have got rid of it by accident when I was duplicating. I hated myself.

So I've only successfully defeated Ruby.

i've beat emerald with out underwater

would you like to know how?

took whole lot of magic pots, and a crap ton of W-Item abuse... lol

horray for 1k ap a kill

but yea like everyone else on here, ahniliated by emerald with my first encounter... *eye twitches*

Okay, not really. But it sure was one of the scariest things I've seen. Ever!

And hereby I say...

Let's see, I went up against Emerald just once when I spotted him swimming around underwater. He killed me in a single hit.

Later, I encounter Ruby and due to some weird glitch in the game, my save in the airship moved the airship inches away from hitting Ruby in the sand. So over and over again, I'd load my game, try to fly the airship away from Ruby and get murdered. After much cussing and game over screens, I finally got it so I didn't automatically crash into Ruby and got out of there as quick as I could.

I still plan to go back and get rid of them though, but first, some extreme leveling up is in order.

And away again.

the first time I was so cocky that I ran in there with cait instead of vincent (bad move) and the next time I came back with vincent and killed him. I never fought ruby though....
