thelovelyLIZ So have y'all heard about the new RENT tour? Basically they're rewriting the original to make it more look the movie, more dialoge and such. This ANGERS ME because I have no idea why they would do that. The movie kind of flopped as it was, and the musical is about a million times better. What do you think? Have you heard about this? The musical is 1000000000000 times better. THe movie is easily accessable, the tour makes the play accessable too. they shouldn't take that away. I cringed every moment of the movie where they spoke the unrhymed lines. Did this already happen???

I think that it makes easy for the new people, but...
MUSICALS MUST BE SINGED, NOT TALKED!!!!

For the person who began this thread, I think it was harsh to say the movie flopped. On the contrary it went rather well: it was well-anticipated and recieved very well.
The film itself wasn't bad and fairly followed the original script: it had to be adapted to work on film. But I wouldn't enjoy the play being changed to reflect the film just because it's an easier access than the Broadway show.
We'll see though. Heck, this may just be a rumour.
