Well, Gundam is typically aimed at young men, and they prefer to see men kicking butt. That hasn't stopped them from including kick-awesome women, of course.

Another thing that really impressed me about Noin was her ability to look at a situation for what it really is...like when she meets up with Wu Fei later in the series and is able to put aside her hard feelings against him for the debacle at her training base...most people would do it out of obligation...in order to get the job done during war but never really let it go. But she truly seems to forgive him and tries to understand despite how insulted she had felt...to the point where she respects him. That takes a truly strong person.
In fact, she always seems to be putting her own feelings aside for other people (like with Zechs during military school...) For a woman...that is saying something....sorry girls sweatdrop I wish I could be more like her...

its true Noin doesnt get the appreciation she deserves. If it wasnt for her Zechs may have fallen in battle in Endless Waltz. Hell she does more fighting then half of the girls on the show if not the only girl.

Finally people see her with the respect I do! I LOVE Noin, she's the top dog of the females and so feaking awesome! She has that gentle, almost motherly caring nature for everyone and yet has a short firey temper. I love the way she's not like the other anima women we seen now and days, she doesn't google over guys and is completely helpless like most animators make the women but she's out there fighting allong side the men and speaking her own opinion. Plus I love how she remains at Zechs' side, altohugh her emotions prevent her from enteirng some battles do to the difficulty of choosing between keeping her promise to Zechs or Fighting to protect the people. Just another great reason to like her, she's not afraid to fight for what she believes in but she's also not afaid to show soem emotions.
Plus she had a disco bar thingy built in for her students. I would love to have a teacher like that!
