Name: Shiri Pangari
Stage:
God: Eros
Likes: cheesy romance novels, daydreaming, sleeping, happy endings, archery
Dislikes: fights, other people, waking up
Personality: head in the clouds, curious, slightly anti-social, matchmaker, mediator
Name: Shiri Pangari
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Height: 5’ 4”
Weight: I’m skinny enough, and that’s all you need to know…
Notable Features: Flame red hair, literally a heart shaped face
Personality: Shiri spends her time communing with Eros (or Her Angel, as she’s taken to calling him), be it through dreams or the voice in her head. So often, she can be found, sitting alone and gazing at the sky, lost in a world of her mind. Be careful when you attract her attention from her “zoning” or, most especially, when waking her up from sleep. Chances are, you’ll catch her in a “special moment” and she’ll be none to happy about that. She has no inclination to play the game, and neither does Eros encourage her to. When not daydreaming or sleeping, Shiri spends her time reading romance novels (which her parents often buy for her) and trying to match make the few friends she deigns to have.
History: Being the Godling of Eros has some perks. Her parents, love drunk hippies even in this rather bleak time, were blessed with marital happiness and love their four children lots (despite only having one natural child). The third child, Shiri is the only one who is not adopted. Her parents, being the laid back beings they are, tried not to restrict her as much as they could and whatever she asked for, she received. Luckily, the only thing she has really ever asked for was that she take up archery. And she is a sight with that bow! (As she should be, with one of the best coaches in history.) Shiri has grown up sheltered (by Eros), and alone. But she has never felt lonely. One is never lonely with Love as your companion.
About Eros:
Name: Eros
Age: several millennia, has never taken the time to count, always so busy
Gender: M
History: : Edith Hamilton says this about Eros: “He is oftenest a beautiful, serious youth who gives good gifts to men.” She also attributes Plato as saying, “Love—Eros—makes his home in men’s hearts, but not in every heart, for where there is hardness, he departs. His greatest glory is that he cannot do wrong nor allow it; force never comes near him. For all men serve him of their own free will. And he whom Love touches not walks in darkness.”
Son of Aphrodite, Eros has long been considered the god of Love and is well known for his archery skills (besting Apollo, even; but don’t bring that up unless you want Apollo to start crying and hugging his wreath) and the effects of his arrows. After running from Psyche the night she discovered his identity, he mourned their relationship for centuries, locked up in his palace chamber. However, he realized that she was only tricked by her sisters and resolved to return to her. But by that time, it was already too late. The Gods had transformed her into an owl, fated to wander for the rest of her life, searching vainly for her husband. To his sorrow, the owl form died, and Psyche’s soul went to Hades. With great work, Eros has obtained his beloved’s soul and waits for the day when he can let her take her proper place beside him. But price did he have to pay in order to rescue her? And what price will Shiri have to pay for love of him?
Family:
Istra and Lerato: Love drunk hippies. Parents of the Pangari children. Laid-back and loving, these two are accepting and excited about their daughter’s “abilities.” They think it’s “freakin’ schweet.”
Mary Jane: Oldest sister. Is jealous of Shiri and the complete lack of restraint Istra and Lerato use on her. (Forgetting, of course, that the do the same with her.) Also believes that she is insane and hates that she isn’t locked up. Adopted.
Celie: Second oldest. Also jealous of Shiri, because of her beauty. Idolizes Mary Jane and does whatever she does. Enjoys trying to catch Bane and make him play Dress Up. Adopted.
Bane: Youngest. Only boy. Protective of Shiri, and disdainful of his other two sisters. Referred to as the “little man” by the parents. Taken from the Streets one day when Istra and Lerato were visiting. Something strange is happening to him too….
