Hi guys (and girls), I have just upgraded my guide to a more easier-understanding and more information added. Hope you like it!

Magician

What makes a magician special?
It is the only class that uses magic and they are known as magicial spell. The only way a monster can ever defend from a magicial attack is by having magical defend (which most monsters have lower magicial defend than weapon defend), making your damage one of the highest and special.

What are the good points of a Magician?
- Mage is a special class, it begins it first job at level 8, whilst other jobs starts at lvl 10, which means more skill point for a magician
-Mage can do far and near range combat mode, while warriors and bandits can only do melee, bowman and assasin only can do far range.
-Magician spells will have mastery when you pump skill point into them, making your damage more consistent, and makes leveling faster than most of the other classes.
-Magician have the most mana than the other classes.
-Magician spell has auto-range which will help you pretty much for far range attacks, and doesn't get obstruct with monsters near by.
-Magic Claw from magicians also proved to be one of the fastest attacking skills
-Magicians have the highest magicial defend.

What are the bad points of a Magician
-Since you attack is consistent, you will be generally the one ksing people. People think bad about mages.
-When your mp goes 0, you cannot attack anymore. You will need to rest or eat potion.
-Lowest hp among all the other classes
-Magicians have the lowest weapon defend, causing 'touching' and monster suicidal.

After you decided to become a magician, it is time to start a new character!

Stats at the start

(Perfect mage built)
Roll the regenerator dice and see the following numbers:
STR: 4
DEX: 4
INT: ? (dont' care yet)
LUK: ? (don't care yet)
(ALmost-perfect mage built)
If your lazy to roll to such numbers, get:
STR: 5/4
DEX: 5/4
INT: ? (don't care yet)
LUK: ? (don't care yet)

Why don't care INT and LUK [yet]?
You will need INT and LUK to get as high as possible. You won't be needing STR and DEX so try to keep them at the lowest (4).
What's INT and LUK for?
INT is 100% your attack ability for a Magician. It is also the spell accuracy.
LUK is basically the accuracy for the wand/staff attack(?). You won't be needing to use your wand to attack oppoent anyway. But LUK is needed to wear magicians' armour and wand/staff. This is a important factor.

Distributing ur ap (ability point)

On every lvl up, you will get 5ap.
From lvl 1 onwards, try to get ur INT to 20 first (minimum requirement for a magician)
You will probably get your INT at 20 by lvl 3 or 4.

Help! My damage from my weapon doesn't increase after adding INT and LUK
This is normal so actually mage is the most difficult to train at lvl 3 ~ 8. [But don't worry ur damage will go fine at lvl 8/13]
STR and DEX does increase the attacking ability of the weapon. But when your a magician, you will find that you wont be needing them anymore. So do not add them .

I want to keep LUK just nice to wear my armour. How much should my LUK be? Is there any formula?
Remember. LUK doesn't increase the maximum damage of your spells. But it is needed to wear armours.
To keep INT at the highest and LUK at the 'just nice spot', Take ur lvl +3 = LUK formula
For example, ur lvl is 20, so ur luk should be 20(lvl) + 3 which is 23.

*NeverEver add any ap into your hp and mp. They will increase each level up.*

Since perfect mages have the lowest weapon attacking ability, they tend to level very slowly from level 1 ~ 8. Thus I recommend:
Lvl 1 ~ 4: Maple Island Killing Snails (not red) and Mini Shrooms.
Lvl 4 ~ 8: Find someone to help you [to leech] in Victorial Island/Maple Island killing Snails (not red) and Mini Shrooms.

Why not red snails?
For a perfect mage, you will only do 1 ~ 3 damage from your weapon. A red snail have 45hp, it could take you 20 ~ 30 sec to get a 8exp, where you can actually get 8 exp from killing 2 blue snails with 10 ~ 15 sec.

1st Job Advancement
------------------------
Take a taxi (not VIP)/ ship to Elinia. Go all the way upwards and go inside the portal. Talk to the floating beard man (Grendal the Really Old) and become a magician!

After becoming a Magician, notice your Mp increase up to 200++. And you will also receive a skill book and a sp(skill point). Here are the skill:

Lvl 11 - 3sp in Imroving Max MP Increase
Lvl 12 - 3sp in Imroving Max MP Increase
Lvl 13 - 3sp in Imroving Max MP Increase

In short:
Free Point - Energy Bolt
1st - Improving Mp Recovery 5
2nd - Improving Max Mp Increase 10 (max)

Anyway, at lvl 13, you should have:
lvl 1 enegry bolt
lvl 5 Mp recovery
lvl 10 Improving Max Mp Increase (Max)

Why do I need to pump Improving Max Mp Increase as soon as possible?
To have really long lasting mp, this skill helps you to reach your Mp as high as possible from your lowest level.

Built 1:
Head to henesys and train on snails/mini shrooms. It is best if there is someone for you to leech.
Built 2:
Stay in elinia and its time for you to use your magical spell! Get those slime and remember to get a wand to boost your magical power.
Get into slime cave if you can afford massive blue pots and red pots.

Why magic claw not Energy bolt?
When magic claw is at level 1, it is indeed lousier than energy bolt.
But at the maximum level, magic claw is much stronger than energy bolt.
*Energy Bolt at lvl 1 has a basic attack attack of 17 which is higher than a lvl 1 magic claw basic attack 6[x2](12)
**Energy Bolt at lvl 20 has a basic attack of 55 which is lousier than a lvl 20 magic claw basic attack 40[x2](80)

Why magic guard not magic armour?
Mages have the lowest max hp compared to other classes at the start till the last day you play maplestory.
Magic guard at the maximum lvl and block off 80% hp damage from oppoent, let's see, crism balrog hits you about 2k damage, with magic armour, it does NO difference to the damage deals at all, and if your lvl 80, you will only have 1k hp, 1k hp is not enough to withstand 2k damage. But with magic guard, only 20% damage goes to your hp, so you only get 400hp damage from crism balrog. But also note that when your mp reaches 0, ur hp takes the full hit.
Percentage always comes better than ordinary figures when it comes to mobs which deals awesome damage.
***Cleric note, you have to max magic guard too, without magic gaurd, character destroyed, no point training it.

Slime in Elinia with Magic Claw/Energy Bolt

Level 17 ~ 20:
Orange Mushroom in Kerning.

Level 20 ~ 25:
Pig in Pig Beach (have a chance to get gold ore), Octopus in Kerning, Party Quest is good too.

Level 25 ~ 30/31:
Train on Green Mushroom (PANLID!) and Horny Mushrooms in Elinia, Henesys or Ant Tunnel 1.
Tired of training? Do Party Quest in kerning till lvl 31, since there is nothing much to train at lvl 30.

2nd Job Advance
-------------------

It is time you do the 2nd job advance when your lvl 30!

These are the 10 easy steps to be a wizard/cleric,
1. Go to elinia and talk to Grendel the Really Old
2. Head 2 maps north of Elinia, climb all the way up, just all way up (prepare extra mp and hp pots)
3. There will be a intructor, talk to him and you will be transported to a hidden map.
4.This is the place where the challenge really starts, you will need to collect 30 dark marbles inside the map.
5. In that map, there will be horny mushrooms and cursed eye. Don't get freaked out at the first glance at cursed eye, 3 hits from magic claw will finish them. As for the horny mush, its much stronger then normal ones, you will need 2 magic claw to kill it. Every mob in there will have a 1/3 chance of dropping the marble.
6. After collecting 30 dark marbles, go all the way up of that map and talk to the intructor again.
7. You will be transported out of that map and receive a 'proof of hero'.
8. Head back to Elinia and talk to Grendel, he will let you choose 3 of the following, Fire/Poison Wizard, Ice/Lit Wizard and Cleric
9. Decide really carefully on which will you choose, you cannot choose again.
10. Then your a Wizard/Cleric!

Yoz. This will be the Fire Wizard Guide. Bump this if you like it!
In this version, I made 2 possible way for a fire Wizard.
FAQs added. More training spot added.


Fire/Poison Wizard

Why a Fire Wizard?
The fire attack cast by fire wizard is far the highest among all mages, with such power, at lvl 40, fire wizard is one of the most powerful job. Plus, it deals 1.5x more on ice based monsters which eventually deals the highest damage to all ice based mobs.

Why a Pure Fire Wizard?
You will have slow max which will help in fighting boss monster such as lycanthrope, werewolf, Jr.balrog and C.Balrog. You have additional defense such as magic armour to protect to from abit of attack since you have extra skill point.

Why a Fire + Poison Wizard?
You will have max poison which will help you in killing some powerful mobs that can be poison. Your killing rate will be faster than most of the jobs if the monster you fighting can be poison.

After completing the 2nd Job Advance, notice your etc slot go up by 4, Additional Mp, as well as a skill book + 1 free skill point

Why Magic Armour not pump to lvl 11?
What is the use of using 2x mp just fore 2 more weapon defense? It will only waste the sp and your mp. The last point should pump on anything you like o Poison Brace if you don't know which to add.

At level 70 a pure fire wizard should have (2nd job skill):

lvl 50 ~ 55/60/65: Jr. Yeti. El Nath / Nependeath too, Cloud park
lvl 55 ~ 65: Grupin, Cloud Park - Garden
lvl 65 ~ 75/80: White Pang, Deep El Nath. Pepe, Snow Field (or hidden-street, Crown Flyer)
lvl 75 ~ 90: Yeti, Cold Field/Ice Vally.

Victorial or Ossyria?
Both has eachs pros and cons.
In Victorial, you tend to spend more pots since the monsters damage is higher.
In Ossyria, you'll need to buy red bean soup (for hp deduction in snow) and many healing stuffs to get to 'deep el nath' because there is Werewolf, LycanThrope, Yeti & Pepe, Dark Yeti & Pepe. You'll need to get through them.
Overall, you save more money in Victorial at lvl 6x while you save more money in ossy at lvl 8x.
