that sounds like a good idea to me. I like the solo time, but ofcourse every body has to learn to fall in line or there are problems.

Our drummer is great, but it's impossible for both me and the guitarist to be heard over his crash.

Then you both need bigger amps probably, if he isn't playing with a mic set then definatly a bigger amp.

I don't like cocky guitarists that think they have skill, and try to play a solo but always mess up.

Well this new little project me and my friend are working on, Im bassist, My girlfriend is the singer, My cuz is the drummer and a good friend girl is rythm guitar, Well my friends wants to be bass since hes been playing for a year and i have been playing for 5. He thinks hes better cuz he plays punk and whatnot when i know alot more(no showing off) Well he wants me to be Lead guitar when i suck at it and he has been playing guitar for 7 years +_+. He is really good but stuborn so i just told him to ******** off we are going to stay at our "posts" and s**t. And he plays ******** 6 min solos and pisses everyone off. So i told him to calm the ******** down cuz we are guna boot him and ya. We have a little shindig at a local rockers hang out which is alright but im and the rest of our band isnt gunna put up for his s**t. So I really dislike people that want it their way in a band. And are LOUD glory hogs. lol

Sometimes its whats best for a band
sometimes its not,
but being part of the Rythmn Section, we arnt the show, people come to see the singer and elad guitar, but stay because the bass and drums are kickin it so good,
if the bass and drums arnt doin good, everyone leaves, if they are, everyone dances and loves you
but the main attractions ARE the singers and guitars, you cant deny that.
unless your goin toa wooten concert, or BX3 tour, or whatnot
but still, rythmn section is rythmn section, we need to make the others look good, even if there not, or really arrogant
and a 6 minute solo is pretty impressive, unless its all repetative licks and stuff...

I hate it when drummers are ignorant to music theory. Our drummer is all"notes are for faggots". Literally.

A guitarist who can't let us all play. That is fricken annoying sure they sound way cooler than all of us. But My amp is bigger as a bassist. DOn't drown us out, and drummers make sure I have to go to the bathroom before you solo.
Please if youre in a band balance your tonal range people come on.

Overall it would just be anyone who was an a*****e in the band, or pushing unfair amounts of work on others.
Right now I'm dealing with a guitarist who thinks he is original in his style of play, while copying Lamb of God, Pantera, Slayer, and Metallica, while the drummer and myself want to do more rock style play. The problem is he expects us to come up with all the material for him to play, so we'll create a chord progression and he'll "thrashify" it ruining whatever flow under a sea of power chords and distortion and then complaining how it is boring.

in the band that im in we have horn lines (saxaphone, trumpet, and trombone) our trumpet player gets us all mad all the time. he complains when we dont play the songs he wants to play. so we just make him play cowbell. easy as that. he actually likes it better dont know why though

I'm not in a band or anything, but when listening to music, nothing pisses me off more than a guitarist who feels like a bassist isn't important :B We're not metronomes. Also; drummers who can't keep time bother me. If a drummer can't keep good time, then what're they there for? D:
.. I hate how some people think bass is just backup, anyone else notice how boring and empty music sounds when you can't hear a good bassline? D:
