Freedom!
Aurelia peered in through a shop window, pushing her face against it as she stared at the jewelry within. Sparkly...very sparkly.
Snapping herself out of her sparkle-induced daze, the little toddler went back to enjoying her surroundings. Her mother had brought her to the mall today, and found the place crowded...and Lia had taken the chance to make a break for it.
She was getting quite a few strange looks, but truthfully, who wouldn't be looking strangely at a lone toddler who was petting a four-winged bird on her shoulder?
"Kishi smart!"
Kishi, the bird in question, was the entire reason she'd been able to sneak away: or well, it wasn't 'sneak' so much as 'run'. She'd kept him hidden in her shirt all the way to the mall (for some strange reason, Aletea never wanted her to bring him!), and when he'd finally burst free, she had chased after him. Her lack of height made it easy to sneak away in the mall crowds, then.
Scanning the crowd, she considered where to go. The store with the sparklies, maybe? Hmm...

Lily strolled down the mall, attempting to keep track of her shopping bags and Carlos, and pretty much not looking where she was going.
Carlos, who was enjoying the fact that there was lots of things to grab at, randomly pulled a scarf out of Lily's bag and started to chew on the end.
((*distracted* 83;; ))

Aurelia, so distracted by thoughts of sparklies, didn't notice that someone was so close, until she was bumped into. The little girl was startled for a few moments, but then grinned up at Lily and Carlos.
New friends! Or well, new possible friends. But why would someone not want to be friends?
"Hi hi!"
Kishi, ever-present on her shoulder, gave a little chirp as well.

Lily stumbled as she turned around and pulled the scarf out of Carlos's mouth. "Oh! Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going..." she stopped, noticing that Aurelia was... young. And by herself?
Carlos reached out and pawed at Kishi. A bird? WHAT FUN. A small, fluffy CHIRPING bird? EVEN BETTER. Carlos giggled, mesmerized by Lia's pet.

Kishi, fluttering his various wings, chirped at Carlos; he was a very friendly bird. But then, he'd have to be, with Lia as his friend. Owner wasn't quite the right word...or at least, it wasn't the word she would use.
"I'm Lia! An this's Kishi!"
Twisting her leaves idly, she gazed up at Carlos and Lily with curiousity. They had stopped - did they want to be friends?
"Who're you?"
An announcement over the mall's intercom. Hmm...where they talking about her?

Carlos grinned wider, completely obsorbed by the bird. This was WAY more fun then scarves!
"Good to meet'cha, Lia, Kishi," said Lily, smiling at the girl. "My name's Lily, and his name is Carlos." she nodded at the baby.
Heywait. What was that? "Lia... Are you lost?" Lily glanced around, seeing if there was anyone nearby that would be watching her.

"Nooo~ I wanted to come look at the sparklies! And Kishi did too, 'cause he flew off first. I think mama got lost, though."
Always a good idea to play innocent. This way, maybe Aletea wouldn't realize that she'd gotten lost on 'purpose'....she didn't think she would, but Aurelia wanted to make sure. Besides, she probably wouldnt' be able to pull the 'escaping pet bird' maneuver' too many more times, before she caught on.
Then she caught sight of something that made her forgot her machinations: Carlos' ears. Her excitement grew.
"Kitty ears!"

"Ah, I see..." Lily eyed the surrounding area. Where the heck was the information kiosk? Maybe she should've read that map after all... "Well Lia, d'you think we should go find your mama?"
...On second thought, was there EVEN a map? ... Stupid short term memory.
Carlos managed to stop giggling at Kishi long enough to notice that Aurelia was refering to him. In fact, he hadn't noticed her much at all - the bird was way more distracting.
What was she talking about? Ah, that wasn't important. What was important, however, was that Aurelia's hair was veeeeery fascinating. So, as Carlos tended to do, he reached out and pawed at Lia's leaves, not sure what to make of them.

The lady wanted her to go back to mama already? But she had just left! How silly; didn't she know that you could only have grand adventures when your mama wasn't watching you?
"Mama's fine!"
What she meant, was that her mother could wait. However, it would probably come out sounding like she was fine with going to find her mother...ah, the confusions of talking with a toddler.
As Carlos played with her leaves, Aurelia took this as an invitation, and reached up to begin playing with the little boy's ears.
"Meeeoow~"
He was a cat! He had to be! He just looked a little different from most cats, but she wouldn't hold that against him. So The little girl meowed at him, wondering if he would respond.
She'd tried meowing at some cats before - some responded, some didn't, so she figured she had the sound down pat...just some of them were grumpy fudder-dudders.
