Evidently Veroen had completely misunderstood her reaction to his presence. Her tears had been out of relief more than anything but adjusting to the fact he was in fact alive wasn't going to be an instant process. That being said, she'd never said she wouldn't be willing to give him another chance. Likewise, she'd never said she would either. The fact he had yet again chosen to jump to conclusions based off of assumptions instead of talk to her and figure things out just proved he hadn't listened to a ******** word she had said. With that realization the ire she'd felt prior to the pain she'd visibly shed in front of him fired the core of her being yet again.
Had he seriously just ignored every single word she had just said to him? The moral of the story had been that if they were supposed to work things out and be a real couple that he would have to be willing to talk to her and trust her. Apparently he had made the decision not to and had instead chosen to disappear. Upon her realization that he had chosen to do just that, she could feel her stomach curdle upon reaction. Her heart skipped a beat and for a brief few moments she forgot to stop breathing. Had he truly chosen to abandon her yet again? Was he actually gone?
Regardless of her unanswered questions, she had no way to seek out the answers as Veroen had literally disappeared. She was still processing that fact, completely shocked at the choice he had made when she'd just began believing that he'd maybe meant what he'd said this time around. It seemed that had been too good to be true and he had chosen now for the third time to leave her completely and utterly alone. He hadn't even given her the chance to respond to anything he said. He hadn't even bothered asking her what she thought or what she'd wanted. Selfish. That was the only adjective she had for his actions and it was the same reason she had been cross with him to begin with.
Even though she was fully aware he was no longer there, despite herself, she decided to respond to him. She was still in partial disbelief but the anger had also begun to set in along with her resolve and the recollection of the reason she'd been forced on to begin with. But the tears she'd seen in his eyes also haunted her. Why? Why did that have to be the last memory of him she'd ever have? There wasn't much he could do to be more unfair and cruel to her. "If you had really loved me it wouldn't have been a mistake to come back. But since you ******** left again without letting me say anything I suppose you never intended to return. You forced me by not trusting or talking to me, to move on. And again you offer no explanation upon disappearing."
Again he had left her in limbo. Again she was uncertain as to whether she'd ever see him again. If he was dead or alive. There was absolutely nothing he could have done to be crueler. Build up her hope again that they might be able to finally understand one another and trust one another only to shatter it after it had been broken numerous times. One thing she did know, however, was that her heart could not keep doing this. She could not keep going through this heartbreak over and over again. The temporary bliss of having him back in her arms only to have him disappear again. It was like a sick game and she wasn't able to take it any longer. If he refused to learn from his mistakes there was nothing she could do about it, that was his choice and his choice alone. Just like his choice to leave her had been. He had no one to blame but himself.
