It had been many sunrises since she had ventured away from the Firekin lands under the watchful guard of the nighttime skies. After having such a wonderful conversation with the one she had known as Vuvimoto, the walking sunset had a lot to think about, and decided that it was time she made her own adventure. Unlike the brute she had met, her travels consisted of leaving home, not the epic return that his was finally bringing him. Secretly she hoped that his return had brought him the happiness that he was looking for.

As her pure red paw hit the ground, she looked around her, breathing the clean desert air - her long tail flickering behind her. It had been cooler here from where she had made herself a home - and it sometimes confused her into wondering where she had ventured to. But, one half of her truely did not wish to care - for it meant that she was truely having an adventure, and wasn't dependant of her bloodline's borders. Greenish brown eyes caught sight of what appeared to be an oasis near where she stood upon further inspection, and it made the Lioness c**k her head to the side, surprised to see such a lucious place all the way out here.

Seeing that it was nearing the midday point, all instincts within told her that shelter would be best, having been a habit that she adopted whilst living by herself for the longest time out in the outskirts of the firekin land, and with no other hesitation, she turned to start trekking towards the haven like area, content to have atleast found something that looked unique and exilirating after weeks of just.. sands.

After a long day of being a murderous cub, complete with all things feathered and now, for some, smeared over several rocks which took over one side of the oasis, the little white-and-more-unnaturally-than-naturally-red cub had found a way to claw her way to the top of one of the structures, laying on top of it with her limbs sprawled out as much as possible.

Two legs outstretched above her head, their little claws poking out, the pink-eyed female looked up towards the sky, looking at the birds which fluttered freely in the sky above her, Lake narrowed her eyes.

"Stupid Tama, doesn't think I know what's she's up to. That b***h should get off her ******** high horse and go the hell away. Maybe there's some piranha's in the pond that'll eat her if I 'accidentally' kick her in." she mused in her normally violent way.

Indeed, it seemed as though the one who was trying to be her 'sister' had discovered her taste for birds, and started scaring them towards her general direction. Afterall, it was to be expected that Lake would remain in the same area.

In fact, it was her 'home', to say.. perfect place. She could even see the pond from there. In fact, upon recalling this, she rose to her paws and scrambled back down from the rocky perch to go look at her reflection, just sitting and unmoving.

Lake could return to her place if one of those -bitches- who called her 'sister' came by..

Upon padding closer to the oasis and the beauty that had grown through and around it, the lioness gave off a slow murr in her throat, content with having found a wonderful place to take a rest at, her aching and tired paws already feeling much better, even if she hadn't stopped to rest quite yet.

But it was went her paws finally reached the lush land when she heard another voice call out from somewhere around her. Having a fair amount of hunting experience and not enough of conversation experience, she stopped short and lowered herself instantly, her tail flat on the ground behind her and her head low, eyes watching her flank and sides carefully - hoping that whatever it was had been either edible (the birds that had flown over her head since she arrived drove her so..) or atleast kind. The words that the male from before had not left her mind, and had kept her on high alert for any uncaring folk from everywhere.

It took until her keen eyes caught the whisp of a cub, white with the distinctive reds on her - some of them staining her fur at the moment from whatever she had killed previously before. ".. A cub?" flowed from her maw before she could stop herself, her sincere curiousity accidentally giving her away. Red fur usually indicated the bloodlines of the fireborn - but why was one so far away, and so.. young? It bothered her so.

A depressed sigh escaped from the cub. "Damn. Nothing in there that could eat her..." She looked off towards what could have been considered the 'living area' of the oasis, mentally shaking a paw towards the thorn in her backside.

"You're lucky -THIS- time, Tama! I'll get revenge on that kidnapper of a father of yours!" she yelled, pawing the ground in anger, using a paw to sweep sand into the pond, before flopping unceremoniously onto one side to lick the blood from her paws.

While she may have been crude, she -did- have a standard of being clean. Not that there was every anybody else around to notice.

However, small or not, even Lake was able to hear a sudden voice broke the 'silence'.. or rather the cracked silence had been shattered by someone not -her-. It sent her fur puffing up, and the cub into a position that made it seem like she was ready to attack.

"A cub? Yeah I am. You here to try and steal me away too?" she hissed, though she couldn't see whom it was she was addressing.

"Well, take a number, 'cause nobody is taking me until my MOTHER finds me out here...." she added, growling, moreso at the thought of being kidnapped again, then being angry about the stranger.

Kidnapping? Even the word made the elder female's skin crawl and her fur raise just slightly so. What did she mean by kidnapping, and was there more than one in this lush area? It wasn't far off from possible, it just needed one lion to hatch an idea..

Breaking her sudden though, she lifted her head - the adult lioness attempted to follow where the cub had suddenly gone, not being able to see her once more, the larger lioness' paws hitting the oasis' grounds softly as she turned a corner, hoping to meet up with the little one again as she finally decided some soft conversation would be .. atleast .. something to break the tension that suddenly held strong on the grounds.

"Wh-whatever gave you that idea? I would never steal another's child for malicious ways.. I couldn't imagine the heartbreak.." she answered honestly, her course and rarely used voice grating softly, attempting to show worry and confusion. "What makes such a young one such as yourself need to ask such a question?" she finished, before finally meeting with the view of the beautiful white and red pelted cub, a true firekin colour...

Lake eyed the female as she spoke, untrusting to her words, but giving her a bit of admiration as well, before looking away from the firekin. Still, she remained in her 'attack pose', no matter how unthreatening it would be with the other female's daunting size.

Didn't scare -her- though! Lake was a tough little girl, afterall.

"How do you think I -got- here? The stupid b*****d that ran this place stole me away from my mother! She'll come out here and find me... that's why I haven't accepted the lies the bitches out here feed me!"

There was a pause.....

"Stupid group of whores, all of them, just bent over and took what old pinkie wanted from them... an -heir- of all things. Too bad life screwed him over!"

She sat up, suddenly laughing at what she said, white tail flicking away at the sand which loomed.

"Besides, why else would one such as you come out to the middle of nowhere.... unless.......?" Lake trailed off, looking at the red of the female's fur, almost identical to her own shade. "You're looking for someone....?"

Although the kit's language was rough, the idea of kitnapping was harsh enough to swallow without having to retort to use some harsh words, she mused. Stopping short as to where she had found herself, the older female kept her sharp eyes on the other, but a softened look to them appeared as she took in all this information.

Unsure as to whom the cub had such malicious words for, she shook her head, just listening to the little one ramble about this area, her eyes breaking the connection once too look at where she stood once more, a frown taking over the slightly fake smile that she had plastered on to show that she showed no harm to the little one.

Deep within her heart told her that something must have happened to the blood mother of this child - she herself knew that she was not a mother as of yet, but seeing the hope and the wonder in those pink eyes softened the adult even to the most innards of her bones. Shaking her head a bit, she nodded softly, taking a seat finally - knowing that the cub showed no true harm to the adult.

"I.. would suppose I am - I followed my heart and have found my way here - so I can only assume that it is fate that I have found my way here, humm?" She bluffed slightly - she actually had been lost for the last few days, but the Cub had not needed to know. "Maybe I was looking for someone who had lost her way.. not too long ago?" It would make sense, she mused in her head - unaware that deep inside her heart was changing even her thoughts. She did look like a firekin, right? Maybe she could make a good one in the future..

Or, moreso, Lake was incapable of being harmful to the female, even if she'd wished to attack her. Her words were her first defense. The more crude she was, the more likely others would leave her alone. If they went past that, well, then she had to come up with a back-up plan.

So far, she hadn't had to yet.

Her ears perked up a bit, and she seemed to stare at the female hopefully as she spoke, eyes wide, though she tried to disguise the little bit of childish dreaming she had in her heart for something else. Overall, the efforts failed horribly.

"Really?"

It had sounded a LOT more expectant than she'd been meaning it to. That would probably be a failing point in her 'macho act'. She had too many expectations, it seemed.

But one couldn't blame her for wishing so hard, could they? "Who might that have been?" Lake then inquired. "Perhaps Tama, or... er...." There was a pause as she tried to think of more names of lions in the area. So far, she had nothing.

".. Well.. do they have a name?"

If they did, she wasn't expecting them to be named 'Lakeisha'...

Seeing the hope flare up in the kit's eyes just filled her with both amusement and kindness to her own, as she looked away momentarily, wondering how she would have gotten so far out here, and if there were truely more lurking within the confines of the oasis - and for what purpose, more than to serve one that - if she heard correctly, had already passed over.

Turning her attention to the cub once more, she shook her head before her responce was given. "I am not sure she was given a name before I lost her - it was an amount of time ago - before she was given a true title. Whomever Tama is, I doubt she would." looking down to the girl, she gave a sweet smile. "But I think one would have named her after such a serene pelt. Something with fire." she finished, before nodding, agreeing with herself.

Lake considered the given standards for the name that the lioness was eluding to. For a fact, Lake's ability with language was very poor, seeing how out-of-the-way she was, as well as being ignorant to those whom surrounded her in this place.

She wasn't exactly the master of all things and their meanings.

"Well.... I don't exactly know my name either..." Lake admitted, ears drooping a bit in a sad manner. "Stupid b*****d took me before I could learn what my true name was... all I have is 'Lakeisha'..." she hissed a bit at the name. She despised the idea of being named 'Favorite One' in illusion that she was related to a man who would -have- no 'favorite one'.

Either way, she would have liked the b*****d to have survived long enough to her to have been his downfall.

"..... But why fire?" Lake inquired, tilting her head to the side.
