Noir offered Xieros a smile, though she couldn't tell if she was looking at Xieros directly, or a bit off to the side, no matter, she tried, Noir would always try to be the best she could be, try to help, be something other then a 'sightless wonder' so some crows had told her once. No, she'd be better then what they had expected.
"Adenru?" she said with question, tilting her head to the side, perhaps Adenru was one of her pack, family even. She was nicer then that one though, which made Noir beam with a little bit of pride and joy.
"Then I shall protect Xieros."
It was not a question, no words out of place, Noir would protect Xieros the best she could whenever she needed too, even if Noir had to face that crazed gray wolf, she would, she would keep her promise to Xieros. "If Xieros ever needs Noir, I am here, you can always call for Noir, others here know me too. If you needed help when Noir is not around, Rage can help too, Rage is strong, she would help." Noir had a special connection to Rage, Rage seemed close to Noir's parents, so they were sort of like best friends, like sisters.
Though Noir knew Nix was Rage's literal sister, and she would never try to go in between them. "Xieros should meet some of Noir's friends, they would like you," she said with a nod.
Though she wasn't sure where Rage, or Malik, or the others were.
Hmmm.

Xieros was content enough to lie there, with the black wolf next to her. Her little body was still tense, the small femme finding it hard to relax. At the sound of Adenru's name, she gave a shudder - but whether it was out of fear or disgust, one couldn't say.
Craning her neck, she peered up at the sightless female. She was kind, she was, and gentle. Even if it were all an act. Listening intentle to the female, she didn't bother explaining about her old family. Half of the pack had died or been killed, and those that stuck around and remained were only of Adenru's choosing.
He wasn't important, she tried to tell herself. She was surrounded by those whom protected her. And protection was something the black and white female craved. She was young, and tired of feigning strength - when around those whom were nice, the black furred wolves in her life, the weary emotions of Xieros could rest.
Despite her caution, the small adult beside her was warm and her words were gentle. Xieros couldn't help herself but cautiously, ever so cautiously, shift herself so she was more easily snuggled beside the females side. There.
Soft like Thayne, smaller than Lindir, but just as sweet as both.
"Rage?" Xieros whispered, a little unsure how she felt about the unknown wolfess. By name alone, she didn't sound like someone Xieros wanted to meet. But, then again, it seemed that this Noir approved of their company. Maybe she wasn't as bad as she sounded.
Slowly growing more and more bold and relaxed, white ears pricked forward as she listened. Had she said the word friend? Mistyk had been her 'friend' and yet, she felt uneasy around him. She'd been lucky she hadn't run in to him again on her wanderings. But maybe . . . maybe Noir's friends were different then Mistyk?
"You mean they wouldn't eat me?" She whispered, pale eyes widening at the thought. It was still so strange not having to fear becoming a hungry fellows lunch! Xieros wasn't so sure she could believe Noir on that, and she gave the female a dubious look.
Thankfully the black one wouldn't see.
But why would they eat her if Noir believed they liked her? Maybe she meant in the tasty-sense. Xieros had gained some weight now that she had the Beta family of South Seaside to feed her. She probably looked quite appetizing.
"If you say so," came the whispered (and not entirely certain) reply.

Noir smiled as she felt Xieros better suit herself to a more comfortable position against her side. She thumped her tail once on the ground showing happiness and then curled it around Xieros somewhat. Yes, this was nice. When Xieros said Rage's name, she suonded, strange, uncertain perhaps? Rage's name was an interesting one, even if it didn't pertain to the side of Rage Noir knew.
"Yes, Rage...her name she did not choose, thats what she told Noir. She is protective of those she cares for, her friends and others," Noir stated with a nod. Yes, Rage was a strong wolfess, origins unknown to Noir, all she knew if that Rage seemed accustomed here. Rage was found of this place.
So Noir had never posed questions of Rage's past.
Noir laughed lightly and rested her head on her paws and shook her head, "No, no, they would not eat Xieros, others seem fond of those that are friendly, and bring no trouble to my father's lands. Everyone protects one another."
Noir loved her home, friends and protection, that was all she needed.

Xieros listened as Noir spoke of her friend. Rage. The cogs of her mind worked as she wondered about this new thing, this . . . friendship. Was the female friend anything at all like Mistyk? Had she promised herself to them, had she . . .
Meh. Xieros really didn't feel like to thinking of the forest coloured male. He was scary, and common sense told her to be cautious around him. He was unstable, just like Adenru, and Xieros didn't appreciate that sort of company at all. With luck, she'd never have to meet him again.
Yeah, friendship was a great thing. But did Noir know that they stood on the border of abandonment? Did she know that they could leave her at any time, find better wolves to be around, find more intriguing interests? Whatever.
Maybe there was something different about Rage then ther was Mistyk. She wouldn't argue with Noir about it, especcially since it would risk causing the black one to lash out, or run away. Xieros didn't want that. . . not in . . .
Not in her fathers lands.
So, she had stumbled in to different territory. Her scent held nothing of South Seaside, every sent different. Some were similar to Noir, but different - family? Siblings, perhaps? Could be. ". . . it sounds nice," she finally responded softly, giving a little shrug of her shoulder. That was similar to what Thayne had told her, right? That they'd protect her, that they'd run out the evil ones that lurked. Thus far, the pup really couldn't complain. It was easy to believe such charisma.
But soon as she got old enough, strong enough, what would happen then? Would she be run out, thrown out, abandoned?
Maybe. The future was never clear, but it almost always had a promise of worry, hurt and fear.
"They sound nice," she added with the slightest wag of her tail. Everyone seemed so fond of others, and trust seemed to abound. Interesting to observe, really, but just not Xieros' style.
((I'm sorry Xieros isn't particular talkative. She's gone on think-mode and that tends to shut her up. Though she's not really much of a chatter-box to begin with. . . . ._.; ))

Noir smiled, "Yes, very nice, Noir thinks so, you should visit in deeper someday, meet Noir's friends, they would like you." she said adding a nod. Yes, surely Malik and Rage, oh! And little Chisai too. She wondered where the squirrel had gone off to. Chisai was usually her eyes, but Noir was on her own today.
Perhaps she should call for Chisai soon...
No, wait, that might attract another, and little Xieros didn't seem very accustomed to other wolves she did not know, and Noir did not want to scare her at all. Noir swayed her tail once and curled it up again around Xieros. The quite was nice.
But when did Xieros have to go?
Noir wanted her new friend to stay.

Xieros let her tail wag once, then twice, while she 'relaxed' against the black, blind femme. She wasn't exactly sure what the rules to this game were- did she stay long or did she dismiss herself back to her home lands? Would Noir get in trouble for crossing lands? Maybe Xieros should pay more attention to where she placed her paws.
Whatever the case, her white and black ears swiveled neatly upon her head as she listened to Noir's encouragement. She was being invited to travel deeper in to the woods? To meet Noir's friends, to meet many other strangers. She wondered what they were like - miniature versions of the black wolf? Similar to Noir but able to see? Would they be sweet like Lindir, gentle like Thayne, swift like Toby?
Pup curiousity got the better of the female, and for just a moment she seriously considered taking Noir's advice. It could be interesting - maybe she'd meet and make friends of her own. Maybe there were small wolves just like her, wolves she didn't have to be so scared of. Maybe it would be great, and wonderful, and maybe everyone would get along!
. . . then again, maybe not.
"Maybe I can meet them someday," she finished, turning her head to carefully nudge at the black female beside her.
Home beckoned her just as a miniature smudge of guilt began to set in. Should she leave soon? What if Thayne wondered where she was? Xieros didn't want to get in trouble, or cause the large mountain wolf any grief. "Do you come this way often? In case . . . in case I want to see you again?" She whispered, ears flattening briefly against her head. "That is, if you'd be all right with that." She did't want to impose on the foreign packs land without an invitation, or harass Noir and scare the friendly female away.
Maybe they could be friends now. . . and she'd have more than just Mistyk.

With the word of someday Noir knew Xieros felt a bit uncomfortable with her proposal, and why wouldn't she be? They had just met, and Noir did not want to scare Xieros away either. She nodded her head, "Yes, someday, that would be nice someday yes," she said with a smile, wagging her tail softly against the earth beneath them both.
Did she come this way often...
If she got lost, yes.
Hmmm...
"If I am not here, you can call for my, Chisai, she comes this way I think, a tiny squirrel, purple, though I don't know what purple is, she just says thats what she is...she's very tiny..." Noir found that out by pawing at her when she was a pup. She and the squirrel had been friends since. Chisai being Noir's eyes at times.
"If you find her, you can find Noir. Rage too, she wanders the borders a lot, many know me here." she said with a smile.
Yes, that would be nice.
"Noir would like to see friend Xieros again."

The female allowed herself to relax, her striped tail wagging with puppish delight. So Noir did want to see her again! Well, there was something good about hearing that. Xieros had hoped as much, since the small female didn't act like an adult at all! She was nothing at all like Adenru. . . . and even was different from Lindir and Toby! Maybe it was because she couldn't see well, because she was blind. . . whatever the case, Noir was on her like list.
She would most certainly have to visit her again someday. Maybe if she wanted to pass through again.
The white and black pup wouldn't admit to NOT wanting to meet this Rage that Noir spoke so fondly of. A squirrel she could handle since squirrels were harmless and typically eaten. Sure it was weird that she had one as a friend, but it was a squirrel. No real danger there.
But a new and different grown wolf?
Uh. . . . . maybe not.
That was a whole new can of worms around Xieros! She'd meet Rage someday, perhaps, but only if she stuck close to the confines of Noir. Maybe Rage would be surprisingly kind, just like Thayne and all the wolves she had met through him at South Seaside. Perhaps that's how things worked!
"When I come back I'll call for you. Or . . . of maybe Chisai," but there was still a smidge hesitation at the latter statement. She didn't want to upset anyone by the call.
Shaking her head, the white toed female decided that, as much as she loved to stay, it would probably do her best to return to the den. Thayne might wonder or worry. . . .
Rolling to her paws, she carefully reached out with her neck and gave Noir the gentlest of licks on her muzzle. Her ears stayed back, but her tail tip wagged with gentle pleasure. She had made a new friend today. . . and one who wasn't crazy or demanding!
"I . . . I should probably go now. . . but I'll try to come visit soon," she promised gingerly, giving a little whine in her throat to seal the deal. Hopefully Noir wouldn't be mad that she needed to return. . . .
Xieros just got kind of jumpy when away from the comfort of the den for too long. Especially after what happened with Mistyk!

"Yes yes, me or Chisai if Xerios feels that is best, of course, I will tell her to listen for you," Noir said shaking her head in a nod. Yes, Chisai would have to stick close or listen well, or do both. She rana way a lot though, randomly, she usually did that when she smelled food, or wanted to go take a nap, but that would be alright, Noir would find her and she would see Xieros again.
She'd be able to see someone!
Well, in a manner.
Noir smiled as she felt a lick on her muzzle, and she thumped her tail on the ground to show that she was happy and grateful to meet Xieros, she was a nice little thing, and Noir had made a friend all on her own this time! "Yes, go but be careful little Xieros, and I will see Xieros again soon."
Such a nice little wolfess, Noir had made a friend. Before Noir would head back she would rest for a little while, she placed her hedad on ehr forepaws, smiled in what she believed was Xieros direction, "Come visit again soon Xieros friend."
