Well before I get into -that-.... I had one card left to get for my deck... which I ordered Tuesday... online... thinking that the place the tournament would be placed would be sold out. I paid the extra 4 dollars to get it shipped quicker... it was shipped out the day after placing the order. I though, yay I should get it. Come Friday... nothing.... so I spent $16 on a card that I didn't get in time... so I get to the place... and they have 4 in stock... DIE!!! I have to buy one there....$12.50 I think before tax. *shrug* I buy it.... after the tournie, Trevor got some packs.... the first ******** pack I open... has THAT card in it...... dadoooom *cries*
Well... I got there.... feeling pretty confident at all the jank that was being run.... it was pretty janky... I told Trevor.. "yeah as long as we don't make that many mistakes we should do fine". There were only 24 people... first round.... me vs. Trevor..... Joy..... so first game... he wins the die roll... things don't look good and I start receiving a beating while trying to stabilize. He gets me down to 1 health.... I keep the card advantage to about the same and I top deck the one card that saves me.... the card that I spent do much damn money on getting..... He gets somewhat emo and starts his sideboard. I don't bother. He goes first again, and starts beating my face, him at 29 health... me finally at 2... I topdeck...... the same card... I start to stabilize again but he still has pressure on the board... I drop a card that prevents his critters from attacking (he had a weapon so his hero still could) I was gaining 2 life a turn ... I was at 1... I gained 2 to 3... because of a play error on his part... he failed at killing me and I was able to gain enough life to win. He got all emo over that.... my next game.... The judge called me on taking a minute and a half on a crucial move in the game... which ended up being the ******** last move of the game as I folded under the pressure of a Gorebelly combo deck.... I went first both games. and lost horribly... I though... okay, 5 rounds, I could still win the rest and make it to top 8. I started the next match.... my opponent calls a judge over because my sleeves are somewhat transparent on teh backs and some were darker than the others.. *sigh* I hadn't even realized it.... I got a warning again, and after the match I would need to either play without sleeves or buy new ones and switch them.... joy... didn't matter because i lost anyway. I figured that even if I won the last 2 games, chances of making it to top 8 with a 3-2 record were shot..... I was wrong, as quite a few people with 3-2 records made it.... but I was just too lazy to cough up $8 or more on sleeves to change them out. In the end Trevor, of course, made top 8. He choked in that last game for top 4 and didn't get the national invite, but he still got his play mat, and his deck will be on the internet. Me... I just plain suck at the game... I can sit and play with Trevor all night most every night, and get my face beat in every time..... actually beat him in a game that matters and then go on to lose to everyone else......... but it doesn't matter to me because in the end, it's just a game and I have my Disturbed.... which doesn't seem to have helped Trevor too much because after we left Star City Games, he was all depressed and s**t *sigh* loneliness I would assume.... *le sigh* I don't know.... life kind of sucks even if it doesn't suck for you.

Why bother with the game if it causes so much trouble?
And what's with the sleeve bull?

Marillius Why bother with the game if it causes so much trouble? And what's with the sleeve bull? Good point. Since cards aren't the only thing I have anymore I can just quite >.> but they've sucked me in... I have the urge to get better and keep playing. Well apparently they figured that if some of the backings of some cards were darker than others then I was "rigging" my deck. *shrug* yeah >.> World of Warcraft... a new set is coming out soon and it's going to break the format wide open.

I can think of a couple decks you built for a few of the games we played that either kicked my arse or pissed me off beyond belife or annoyed the hell out of me
