To get people to panic, like headless chickens, and refuse to click it, in fear of some large scam, when infact, its nothing but smoke and water.

it does bug you for your password !
before they disabled the link it would show you a page that looks exactly as gaia main page, and it would ask you to type your login and password !
the data would be sent to that scammer, and he'd hax0r you !
