There is something about EVP and other means of electronic detection (other than photographs) that seems to always strike a chord with me, like it shouldn't happen. Beyond even the laws of physics, I feel like there's always this resonance of negativity.
I was talking about it with my boyfriend, who has experimented with EVP and closed circuit means of detection. He said that when he used to do it, he felt almost the exact same feeling that one gets when someone knows that something one is doing is "wrong", and only does it as long as they don't get caught. I somewhat agree with him.
I can kinda see where you're coming from; generally, modern technology isn't the best thing to record spirits with, either morally or just functionally. Remember that, with advanced enough technology, pics and other media, including sound, can be easily manipulated or malfunction. From a moral standpoint, it might feel like you are intruding. It might feel different, for instance, if you caught an EVP on accident, like when you were recording something else.
As for EVPs, I can believe that some spirits would wanna talk. It could be kinda hard to sort the real from the fakes just wanting some attention, though.
