Human world and demon world had remained at peace and with few advances in technology human world seemed the same in the few years that passed. Hiei was still with Mukuro, and Yusuke visited everyone often. Kuwabara got into his desired college and was studying hard. Kurama’s mother had adopted a young girl about the age of eight. Shiori had said that the girl was found near the woods and needed a place to stay until the parents were located. It was obvious that she wasn’t completely clueless but she wasn’t exactly sure about her surroundings. It was as if they were foreign to her. Shiori helped her find clothes and such that would fit the tiny child. Kurama, his step-brother and his step-father set up a makeshift bed and help her find a daycare or school. Soon they realized that she was rejecting every idea thrown out; everyplace rejected.
Kurama began to think it was hopeless. After countless tries the family gave up, keeping the girl at home with Shiori. The little girl was home-schooled and learned faster than most kids her age. Kurama was impressed by the way the girl learned. She was quick, like he was, but only wanted to learn about things that interested her. He noticed she was quiet and spoke rarely, with intelligent questions or with reassuring statements.
She slowly began to trust him and wasn’t as distant. She had told him twice that she knew he was a demon and the first time he lied about it, but the second time she kept telling him more than he thought she should know and told her. He figured out as well that she was a demon too. Not only that but she was slowly gaining strength at abnormal rates. Kurama reasoned that her parent’s energy could be link towards her own. If they improved she did as well. Controlling the power was the problem. She tried to contain it which left her sick, weak, or even paranoid. For this, he made a garden of herbs which helped to energy turn into stored energy, to be mastered later.
After two to three years she trusted him almost completely and whenever they could go to demon world they trained, and searched for her parents. Unfortunately she slowly forgot their appearances, but could somehow remember their voices, not clearly but just enough to know, generally, what each sounded like. She tried explaining it to Kurama but to no avail. She figured out Shuichi’s name was Kurama and
Ten years passed and the girl became stronger and contemplated going to school then yet again rejected the idea. All she needed to learn was her brother; he taught her everything. She stay close to him, he was her brother and she would do anything for him; she felt like she owed him for saving her.
