Some scenarios that popped into my head:

What if different members had formed the JSA?
What if the JSA was formed in 1042?
What if the the Crisis never occured?
What if the JSA was formed in 2100?

Do you have any ideas?

Actually, I think according to DC there's been four events which could be considered as Crises:

1. The end of the Golden Age and the subsequent relaunching of characters at the start of the Silver Age. (Not a crisis as such but certainly a rebooting of the DC universe.)
2. Crisis on Infinite Earths
3. Zero Hour
4. Infinite Crisis

If the first one had never happened, that would be very interesting. No Justice League, no Green Lantern Corps, no multiverse... in 1956, when they decided they'd bring back the Flash as a different guy with a different background, I imagine they had no idea of the eventual repercussions.

Well, I meant #2, but the others would be interesting concepts as well.

The only way I can see the JSA being any different, is if it would have been formed way, way earlier. But I say that because some of the founding members wouldn't have been there (ex. Starman and Sandman)

I've been working on writing a story where the "Golden Age of Heroes" begins on modern times. Basically, the JSA as we know it, but somehow forming without the threat of WWII looming over everyone's heads.

It culminated in an invasion from Darkseid!
