About
Aranhil is the only son of the Southland Kingdom's most renowned jewelery, Feanor Elurin. He was born in the year 3430 of the Third Age, and during the Great War he fled with his mother to the Westland for safety. His father fought bravely and returned home a survivor, though sadly Aranhil's mother was killed the day before the women and children made it back to Tor Karad after the war ended. Since then, Aranhil became close with his father.
Aranhil met Elnara Aldrich when he was nineteen years old and Elnara thirteen. Elnara had just come to live at the castle in Tor Karad with her grandparents. They became good friends, then began dating. Less than three months into their relationship, Elnara vanished. Aranhil, desperate to find her, traveled everywhere he could, and for five years was unable to find her. Finally, he gave up and returned home, though he was never able to look upon another in the same way.
He learned the trade of his father and eventually surpassed his skill, and soon his work was more sought after than his father's. Their shop became quite profitable, though Aranhil had lost much of the pleasure he had once found in the beauty of the trinkets.
Eleven years after Elnara's disappearance, in the year 24 of the Fourth Age, an old friend showed up at his shop with two guests - angels from a land called Gaia. These guests brought news of Elnara's return, and indeed in less than three weeks he was more than happy to see her walking past his door, albeit in strange company: a neko, a female angel, a human, a winged child, and a winged and talking cat.
Elnara had changed, however, and seemed to want nothing to do with him. He was crushed, but determined to find a way to pick things up where they had left off all those years before. When Elnara then took a short journey with the neko, Aranhil went out to meet them on their way back but was shocked to discover that she was hiding something from everyone: like her mother, she was a shapeshifter.
Upon this discovery, many of Elnara's brothers rejected her, and rather than staying in the Four Lands and retaking her place as Crown Princess, she left everything and returned to Gaia with those who had brought her back. Aranhil was devastated, and though he returned to life as it had been for the past several years, he took no pleasure in anything.
Now he runs the jewelry shop with his father, hoping beyond hope that one day he will find a silver lining at the edge of his cloud.
