So then you're saying that, hypethetically, if you bought a Nitemare Scarf for 2.7mil in the market and sold it again later, and when the bid was almost up, the highest was still about 1 mil, you'd let it run out?.. Sure, you got a good bid.. Anybody willing to bid a full mil is pretty determined, but you'd be losing over 1 mil in sales.. You'd let it run?.. How do you expect people to make gold?..

You always take risks at the marketplace... I didn't mean to suggest that everyone not care about losing a LOT of money. In my experience, the real bids occur right before the bid ends. If it's obvious that you're not gonna get the bids that you want then by all means, cancel the sale.

I have had better luck with 5 minute buy it now, then bidding.
I am going to move this thread into a new sub-forum when it is dead, it is pretty helpful and interesting.

Yeah, I never let any sale continue for more than 3 days, mostly never more than 5 hours. When people post theirs for 14 days, it seems kinda pointless. There's no way your bid is gonna go unbeaten for 14 days.

I put mine up for the full time.. Think about it; You set it at market standard after getting a misprice, then the price drops.. You don't sell it off just to sell it, you leave it in to help it pick back up.. The last thing you want is to lose a profit.. I set my buy to Standard, and my bid to 0, then allow all time available.. You may not like it, but I've sold over 20mil in my vend, not including mules..

I have been doing my best to be more patient with it, its just frustrating from a buyers point of view. I will try that 1/4 bid thing. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out how to sell my letters for a decent amount without doing the very thing which annoyed me. I'm glad this guild is here, I'm really learning a lot. heart

k, what I do is set a high price, and put the bidding start at a price I expect to get, if someone bids at my bidding price, and it goes up from there, good for me, but I don't cancel if someone bids and will get the item for what I expected to get in the first place,
I just went through a bidding on my G-BOT, and won it, but I also received a PM from another bidder calling me a jurk, now that's really mature!!!! Anyone else gotten this sort of PM???

Mind, the people who cancel bids if they don't get the price they want are, more often than not, vendors themselves.
You see, when you bid, you shouldn't really do so if it would mean that you'd have no pure left to vend with.
Further, bid-sniping is done effectively only in the last ten seconds or so. Hence, this means that you won't have to deal with the dilemma of your gold being caught in a bid for more than a minute.
