I am 5 months pregnant with my first child.
I was just wondering if there should be anything medically I should look into before I give birth?

Wow, that's really hard one to answer. There's a TON of things you need to decide on before giving birth.

I highly recommend speaking with your OB about this. They can guide you in the right direction and give you the necessary reading materail if you haven't gotten any books or done any research on your own.

There are also childbirth education classes. Most hospitals offer these for free, if not check out your local YMCA or pay the fee if you have no idea where to stop.

Just a few questions:
Any allergies?
Have you been hospitalized before?
Will there be any complications IF a c-section is necessary?
Do you have someone to assist you (ie. driving, food, etc)?
What kind of facility is it? Is it LDRP all in one room?
Where are you doing to deliver?
What options do you hope (things change, so keep an open mind)for pain management wise?

Those are just a handful of questions you have to answer to prepare yourself.

Thank you so much. I hadn't even thought of half of those yet.

It's daunting sometimes to think of what all to prepare for. Here's a checklist that might help you out!

If you read in the original post, she asked what medically she needed to think of to prepare.

Thank you very much. The checklist shed some light on a few things I would have never even dreamed I needed to think about.
