So I have to take a math class for my general education credits in college in order to graduate as an RVT and the marjority of the rest of my class has already done a math course in thier spare time since most of them are older then me, and most of the people who hadn't done math yet failed first term so they arn't at school anymore which means I'm one of only 2 people in the math class... today the other girl didn't show up so I had a 15 minute math class bymyself =/ I'm glad it was only 15 mins but it is really wierd being the only student in the class 0_o

I just hope my classmate accually starts showing up...

It's nice to have the help but we are still doing simple stuff I need no help with so sitting in a class for 1/4 hour alone kinda blows and then after class I have 2 and 1/2 hours to wait at the school bymyself until my next class starts cause I don't have my own car and no one is willing to wait 15 minutes for me to get out so I can just go back home... It'll be nice when it's accully stuff I need help with so I can take advantage of being one of two in a class.
And yes, she shows up now^_^
And an RVT is a Registered Veterinary Technician, I'll pretty mcuh be able to everything a Vet can except diagnose, prescribe meds, and preform surgery... but I'll be able to sew up the patient after the surgery. It's super fun, I couldn't have found a better career for myself cause generally I dislike the majority of people so I'd rather help animals who deserve to live.

It was an option but I didn't test out cause it's the stuff later on in the course that I desperately need help with.
And what your talking about is HIGHLY illegal and if you know a vet that has done that he/she could lose thier DVM liscence in anyone ever found out. The only way a RVT or UA(unregistered assistant, which is my title as of now) can perform a surgery is if it's on his/her own animal or the DVM's own animal... unless you have been to a veterinary college that teaches surgery there is no way in hell anyone should let you touch another persons pet durring surgery unless it's your own or the DVM's pet. We just went through all these laws and ethics of the Vet hospital that are enforced by AVMA. They drill it into our heads that diagnosing, prescribing, and surgerys are a big, illegal, no-no unless you have a DVM liscence. I can fill a perscription that has already been prescribed, suggust a possible diagnosis for the DVM to look into if the DVM is stumped, and sew up the surgery site but thats about it when it come to those things. It would be really cool to be in a vets office that would let me do that stuff but I don't think I would do it if offered cause not only could I screw up and kill someones pet but I could lose my liscence forever, the DVM would lose his liscence and the hospital would be shut down if we ever got caught. Even in an emergency situation where the DVM is out to lunch or something I still couldn't perform a surgery even if it was to save a life, I know that for a fact cause thats a question I got wrong on my finals, I thought if it was to a save a life it would be ok, but nope.
