((This takes place, obviously, after Mingan's meeting with Ravii))

The wolf trotted along, head held high. He was still feeling good from his most recent meeting with another wolf. In the past these meeting had left the old wolf feeling very concerned and fidgety, but this time he felt pretty good about himself and the general state of things.

It wouldn't last for long, though.

Deeper back into the forest, he began to wonder about loneliness. He was neurotic about life in general, but he realized this unlike a lot of others who just went on being insane. Maybe seeking out a friendly group would not be so bad.

As he walked along, speculating these things, it became apparent to anything watching that he was settling back into a state of fear. His head dropped back, his tail tucked and his body slunk to the ground. It appeared he slid on his belly as he crept through the underbrush, hoping nothing was waiting to swoop down and devour him, or worse.

"How could Mingan ever find a pack if he acts like this." the grey wolf whimpered to himself as he crept along.

Ieshia was feeling really good. It felt wonderful to be part of a group again. She had always loved being part of a pack. The only thing she had been torn over was her ability to travel and see the world-but this new pack, this invention of theirs had solved that. It was her two most treasured things in one: her friendships and her freedom. She loped along at a easy trot, her black tail held high behind her like a banner. She hummed a gentle tune, one that had been with her her whole life, though she knew not where it came from. Things were good and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Quite a distance later the grey male was still creeping and crawling along the forest floor - so far so good, nothing had eaten him yet.

A humming came to his ears, and he froze. "What do I do?!" his eyes widened in fear. He had no wish to surprise the other wolf, but wasn't quite sure if it would be safe to hide himself either.

Black ears slowly stuck up from the brush he was hiding behind, followed by the crown of his head and pale green eyes. He wuffed softly, having spotted the bigger female, and flattened his ears back against his skull apologetically.

Ieshia paused, hearing something. "Mm...?" She turned her head, stopping her merry walk to peer at the trees. Finally she caught sight of a wolf standing half-concealed in the bushes. She smiled warmly, the look she gave welcoming like a cozy den on a rainy day. "Hey there!" She gave a gentle wag of her black tail, her eyes soft but bright. There didn't seem to be a fiber of hostility in her being. Instead there was only friendliness and the kind desire for socialization.

Slinking out from behind the bush, Mingan kept his posture. Tail tucked, ears flat, crouched very low to the forest floor. He tried to focus on the other wolf's nose, not wanting to seem challenging by staring into her eyes.

"H-hello?" he nearly whispered. The other wolf exuded friendliness, and Mingan let his the tip of his tail loosen and flip slightly in a wag, if cautiously.

He was obviously had the shortest end of the stick in life. He was covered in scars of old wounds, tales of horrid battles and beatings. His personality mirrored his past, scared and dark, unable to function correctly in social situations.

"Whatchya up to, hmm?" Ieshia asked, as if they were old friends that had simply been apart for a while. She sensed his nerves and she wasn't blind to his scars. All she could offer this wolf was some friendship and perhaps some cheer-she certainly had enough to pass around. And he certainly desserved some by the look of it. "Oh! I'm Ieshia by the way," she chuckled, her gold eyes glinting, "And you are?"

"Wandering." a simple answer chased by a whine. The old wolf lowered himself to his haunches and curled his tail around himself. She was friendly, and that was very relieving. Maybe Ravii was a catalyst to this.

"I am Mingan." he offered back with a sheepish grin. This attitude sure was catchy, he could do this.

"Ah! You're a wolf after my own heart, Mingan. Pleasure to meet you," She smiled warmly, "I'm Ieshia! Have to say I'm with you on the wandering bit. Couldn't think of anything I'd rather do, to be honest." She swished her dark tail, settling herself down to sit near him so they could converse better. She was glad he was relaxing-it was always sad to see someone so jittery and nervous.

Her warm attitude and ease of speech warmed him from the inside out. Mingan never had any companions of the female sort, he wasn't a lady-killer. The truth was, ladies killed him. They made him feel good, whether they knew it or not. He pined for their company, they made him love life.

His tail thumped softly against his hip and he quickly pressed his nose against the bigger wolf's shoulder in a sort of secondary greeting. "Wandering is how I live. I love times like this when I can sit with a new wolf and not be afraid." He looked up to see her face and was glad she was a comforting female, and not a fighting loner, for he was very small and fragile.

"I honestly couldn't think of a better way to live," Ieshia said with a smile, a spark in her eyes that showed her firm belief on what she said. She traveled because she loved it-she could never stay in one place for long without the road calling her name once more. "I agree, meeting others-it's my favorite part of traveling. It might even be the best part, mm?" Her tail swished a little and she leaned into his nudge with friendly affection, offering companionship for no price at all.

"Yes, yes." he nodded in agreement. "I love seeing new land. This one is thick with trees, but a few days before I was in grassy land with beautiful waters flowing through them." And a lovely female, he added mentally. He wondered briefly if he'd see her again, but dismissed the thought with an 'of course'. "I love the company sometimes. I don't like conflict, but I tend to find it more often than not." he said with a screwy grin, indicating his body.

Ieshia looked rather surprised, "Really? I've wandered for so long and met nothing but friendly wolves...except for once, but that was quite the unusual case. Mm..." She tilted her head thoughtfully. Poor thing must have quite a bit of bad luck, meeting so much hostility. She snorted, and shook her head, "Well that's hardly fair...it's not like you deserve it more then anyone else. Hmph."

"Thank you." he bowed his head in thought. "Do you have a destination or do you plan to forever wander?" he asked carefully. Maybe if she was willing to allow a traveling partner along, he would be less prone to injury. Other thoughts came to his head as well. She hadn't mentioned if she had a pack, or friends, or even where she came from. He would let her answer before asking any more questions though. The little grey wolf didn't want to come off as annoying and potentially ward her off.
