N'tren listened to the banter back and forth. It wouldn't be that hard at all to go and map the area. There was still plenty of sun left; that was the joy of summer in the south.

Not so strong as so big. Datiath replied simply. There really was no pride or modesty in the bronze. Just truth. You can go where I can not.

What do you think, Dattie? Care to let the newbies ride you? N'tren asked his mate silently.

It is fine with me.

Outloud," Datiath will take you up if you want, J'est. K'hin, I am sure you want to ride with R'ael. Sounds like fun and if it's not too far then a straight ride will give our dragons some exercise."

Remia smiled, getting ready to talk about her pet project, but Imrin's last question caught her by surprise. "Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make you feel neglected! Of course I'd like to see you at other times!" Her expression was a study in dismay.

He likes to make you flustered, Mine, Trith noted, sounding both amused and curious as she spoke to her rider.

But he's right! I shouldn't be leaving people wondering what's happened to me! Poor Orana, too! And N'tren... Remia felt a little guilty as she realized she'd been letting her friendships grow a little distant lately.

The Night Itself

With a slight 'tsk' the trader steered her away from her companions and into a less crowded area. The combination of the din of conversation, music, and his height made him bend his head low to speak to her. He kept an arm around her waist and a wary eye out for draconic interference in the form of Bait or her little beast. "I think I may just have to show you where my rooms are." He drawled lazily as his eyes flicked in search. Ah, his bronze seemed to be up and involved with T'bells familiar little gold. Distracted for the moment then.

"I'm in and out of the weyr day 'n night but you're so much busier, it seems. If you were to drop by sometime I may be in..." He waved his wine and his gold bracelets clinked. Soon Bait would be more than two braincells nad a pair of wings, possibly capable of relaying messages. Maybe. Until then it was the old-fashioned way.

Remia let herself be steered, but looked over her shoulder and wiggled her fingers goodbye to Orana before she disappeared completely. The blush that seemed to be a permanent stain on her face when he was around returned as she realized he was awfully close...

His rooms? she thought to herself, then echoed out loud, "Your rooms?"

It was a good idea... and she'd get to see where he lived in this massive labyrinth. "I think I'd like that, Imrin," she stated, leaning her head up so her voice carried to his ear better. She was getting a bit warm... probably from his arm around her. Remia smiled, looking at him from the side of her vision. Just what was he thinking?

Imirin took her closeness with a smile and brushed their noses together with a wink of his gold eye. He leaned back to his full height to drain the last of his wine. "You're in luck, m'dear." His cup thunked on an empty table and he gestured from the main hall. "I've managed, in my right formidable way, to have myself located just close enough to the kitchens to be easily found."

The arm still wrapped loosely about her waist gave a slight tug at her skirts (belt/pants?) as he navigated the crowd with her at his side and aimed for the main doors. "Had me the makin's of a small shop before I took a trip to the north. Nice size room, but I'm half cluttered with the finer stock I can't trust to the store room I have by the stables." He glanced down at her, "Not that anyone would chance thiefin' from me." A wolfish grin lit his features, the first entirely uninnocent expression he'd shown her. Truth was, no one would attempt it. He was faster with a knife than he was with his words. "But it's quaint enough if that beast of mine hasn't made a mess again."

(( Skirts, except when riding. 3nodding Remia is a girly girl, at least in dress. ))

Remia's eyebrows raised slightly at the grin, but she followed along readily enough, even leaning into his taller form very slightly. "I think I heard about your shop in passing once or twice... but I hadn't realized it was you they were talking about. And what do you mean by 'beast'?" she asked curiously.

As soon as they passed by the main doors, the volume of conversation from the other room dropped to something allowing normal conversation, but there was still a large amount of foot traffic going in and out close to the door.

Excited Apathy

Obsessive Hoarder

Syleti frowned as Nevaeh became quiet, then shrugged and dug into the food upon her plate, eating with a neat quick efficiency born of hunger. At the moment, talking was interfering with eating, and she hadn't eaten since...obviously, sometime before the Hatching. The young woman grumbled through a mouthful of food as Tidus finished his prize and flitted off through the crowd, doubtless to continue his theft...but unwilling to bother with the flighty, headstrong creature, she let him go for now. More important things were on her mind...like the connection in the back of her mind, similar to the one with her fire-lizard but much more noticeable. I wonder if she can feel me the same way? I know it's how she talks to me, but is it different for her somehow?

What seemed almost like a sleepy murmur resonated in the girl's mind. Is what different? I can hear you...you're thinking loudly. The last comment was delivered in a petulant 'tone.'

Syleti nearly choked on a bite of fruit in dismay. I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to wake you up, lovey. I'll try to think quieter, I promise, she thought experimentally, trying not to speak the words out loud. I need to get the trick of this mind-speaking.

Yes you do. I'm going to go back to sleep now.

K'hin frozed and then grinned. "I would like that..if that alright with you R'ael and Jaerith."

A humourless chuckle came from the trader. "A mistake of savin' an egg from a flock of wherries so I could sell it led to it hatchin' in my wagon, eatin' my food, and avoidin' anything I threw at it." He shook his head. "Needless to say I ended up with a little beast of my own. Pesky little flitt." He shook his head and guided her down the hall and through the lessening crowd. "My rider's been helpin' me train him. He's got a right zoo anyway. Hopefully it'll be of some use...right now it just eats everythin' in sight."

(I'll create a thread after your next post so we can continue there 3nodding )

Remia chuckled. "They are useful once they're old enough to do more than sleep and eat, if you train them right. And affectionate, too. I confess I haven't done much training with Oli, so he's rather... inconsistent with his message duties. He's like a feline in that respect, I suppose," she said.

As if summoned by the mention of him, suddenly the air above them was occupied by a small blue form, who chittered with some annoyance as he realized he couldn't land right away. Remia sighed and put out an arm for him, and he landed delicately, fussing as he took the short hop to her shoulder pad.

"I'd like to meet your flit, Imrin," she said to the trader with a smile once Oli was finsihed, then tilted her head. "What color is yours?" she asked. Oli added a trill, as though he were curious, too.

(( okay. let me know where the thread is. ^_^ ))
