For those people who are looking for a place to go, there is a place in Shiga called the "Japan Center for Michigan Universities" (although its not only for michigan universities) that is fairly inexpensive in comparison to Japanese shidai and public Us. and is taught by bilingual staff. I would suggest however, if your study abroad office has specific programs, you should do that, but if not, you should consider JCMU smile

Well, studying abroad is what I plan to do once I get to that point but I have a friend who has a blog that's original purpose was to talk about his experiences in Japan. You'll have to look at his older posts from '06 and stuff. He's no longer in Japan but yeah. He's a great writer. ;P check it out:

I would recommend going in college unless your high school will be good about transferring all the credits over. My husband did a couple months in high school and a semester in college and he said he enjoyed both, but got more out of university. Plus, unless you planned far ahead of time, your goals for the future might not be too concrete. If you give it a couple more years, you can focus your time and do stuff that is fun and beneficial for your future.
For those looking at doing uni in Japan, look into scholarships. There are tons out there and they are not too competitive compared to the ones for European or US unis.
