 - seeing the look on people's faces when you and your band buddies talk about music / band stuff. - playing infront of a hugs crowd, and hearing their applause. - meeting new people at band comps. who play the same instrument as you. - being on TV :]

- Getting to throw things at the Pep Squad when they sit in front of you.
xD; We throw ice at them and don't get in trouble for it.
- Getting sto skip part of first period because your Band Director makes you stay in the gym and play through the entire marching show before we're allowed to leave.
- Getting away with not doing your homework by saying ' I'm in the band. '
=O True story. Me and my boyfriend use that excuse all the time in Geometry when we don't finish. We just tell her " D: We practice until 9 last night and we're TOTALLY tired..."
- The satisfaction of people having no idea what you're talking about when you and another band kid start getting all excited about summer band camp.
- In regards to the previous one, Band Camp in general. That way you can actually say " One time at Band Camp..." without looking like a completely moron.
- SHOW SHIRTS! =DD
- Over night band trips.
- Long bus rides on SWEET charter buses.
- Going out of state. ;D We're going to Washingtong DC to play for the inaguration of the new president next year.
-Getting to spend a week with a bunch of people that you see more than your own family.

(College Band - Division 1-A)
*If my team would have made it, I would have had free courtside seats to any NCAA tournament game they went to.
*Courtside seats in Madison Square Garden
*Being on ESPN
*I get paid to go on trips
*Flying on a chartered jet
*The athletic department spending over $20,000 per person to take us on trips (that's a semester of tuition for me!)
*Being able to be in a frat dedicated to band
*Parties with bandies
*Hanging out in the band room
*Being allowed to mow people down during parade (and we're encouraged to, the drumline once put a guy in the hospital)
*Hearing crowds of people screaming and cheering
*Being a student athlete, so I'm allowed to miss class and the professors can't argue with me about it
*Away trips!
*Band camp biggrin

1.Having your own unbreakable circle of instant friends who don't get mad when you can't go somewhere because you have practice AGAIN.
2.You loose weight...and your breath...very easily after a while.
3.You can come up with so many inside jokes, games, sayings, anything you want.
4. Every time you step into your uniform you get your own personal sauna treatment, free of charge.

Automatic friends/ties when you're a freshman. (I didn't have any upperclassmen in my section, but the new french horns do)

Free food at the football games
Yelling at freshman
Having somewhere to do after school when you don't want to go home
Band camp
but our Jazz band is what really gets the perks
We played at the Hilary Clinton rally at my school
We missed a whole day of school, playing at 1 elementary school, and 2 middle schools and ate at Ponderosa courtesy of the band boosters for like 2 hours
missing boring assemblies because we play for like 5 seconds then leave, dont want to watch the assembly then stay in the bandroom and talk about people
Lakeland<3
Tri-C<3
and we're one of the best Jazz bands in northeast Ohio

and time with good friends (just make sure you pick a really good friend to room with, last year i didn't)
lol, turns out though she had a sneezing fit after it rained and had to go home xd
