He laughed at the attempts Takato made to fly, it was quite amusing but at least the kid was trying. The kid would probably be able to fly but if not someone could teach him. But definately not him because he didn't know how long he'd last with teaching this kid.
What to do? Akira looked about again, his dark eyes surveying the land. His stomach growled and he flushed sheepishly, of course that had to happen at this particular moment. He sighed, was the kid hungry? "Hey Takato, you hungry?" He asked, cheerfully.

Takato's voice high pitched for a moment. "YES!" He replied with her big green eyes met the others dark ones. He wagged his long feathers tail and pounced on another rock. He was waiting for the other to respond to something to do. Or he himself would have been bothered with thinking something to do with this. Large creature.
He little wings fluttered some and he started to bounce from one rock to the next. Old ruin pieces scattered about the large grazing area out the temples. Feeding on something other than the best foods would be... just awful. But if it was from meeting someone. He would think about it.
He sat on a rock and looked back at the larger one. Hakumei... He thought for a moment. His ashy friend that he could not forget; that he was waiting in the temple for Takato to return to play. Since at birth that had been playmates. He shook his head thinking to himself. "He could play with.. some other ones like us. Feh. That low self-esteem is getting on my nerves." He said underbreath. Which he was used to doing. Hakumei never suggested we ate. Maybe this one would be more interesting than Hakumei could ever be. He was larger. And seemed he could fly. Takato kept flapping his wings and could only get as much as a short .4 second glide before falling to another rock. "If we're gunna eat. Then you'd better hurry up!" He said smirking back at the other.

Mikan-Known as satsuma in the US and mandarin/tangerine in Canada. About the size of mandarin oranges and are sweet and usually seedless.
Iyokan-Looks like an orange, it is slightly bitter but sweeter than a grapefruit.
Sansai-Wild vegetables.
Seeing the kid take off, Akira spread his wings out. He pushed off from the ground, his wings flapped up and down and he hovered in the air for a few seconds before heading downwards. He moved forward, his wings pushing with effort as he glided towards the other. The kid could move fast, jumping from rock to rock.
Catching up, the male landed softly on his paws and his wings folded up again. "There, caught up." He smiled again before turning his head to look about for bushes or trees that held fruits. He didn't care too much for grass, he preferred the numerous berries and fruit trees that were around the area.
His eyes narrowed, seeing some mikan bushes as well as iyokan shrubs. There were some different types of sansai all about along with certain mushrooms that were common to these parts. Akira did like mikan, they were quite sweet though he didn't like how the juices fell from his mouth and made him sticky. Though he could always wash himself off in a stream.
He eyed the fruit bushes and the places where certain mushrooms were growing, he was hungry though. He could deal with getting his fur sticky if it allowed for him to get some food in his stomach. He nodded to himself and looked back at Takato. "There's some food over there." Akira nodded in the direction where they were.

Takato turned his head in the direction where the other was pointing at. "Hm?" Looking that to acquire food he'd have to get dirty... and the food wasn't even cleaned. She brushed it off and looked aside in somewhat disgused. "Y-You eat this?" Somewhat surprised that the other would make such an accusation. Him. Getting dirty. He was too proud for such a thing.
"Ah.. " He mur mured some. He petted his feathers down some licking his tiny minature wings. "You could do something like that. I can't-" He'd thought of going hungry before doing such a thing.

He blinked. "Yes..." He said slowly, observing the young Shikokuyen thoughtfully. "Is there something wrong with getting the food?" He pressed on, not knowing what was wrong with Takato.
Akira looked back to the food and then slowly back to Takato. It didn't make much sense to him. If he was hungry, he would want to eat...right? Unless the kid was not hungry and just said he was because....why? He blinked again.
"What do you mean you can't do something like that? Were you never taught by your parents?" He asked, wondering what was wrong with getting some food to relinquish the hunger that he was most definately feeling now.
He eyed the food again, he really was hungry but if Takato didn't like that type of food they could find something else.
