Mr. Perfect by Linda Howard
(review taken from Amazon)
Setting: Warren, Michigan, present day
Jaine Bright and three close friends share dinner one night and during casual conversation, create a list of qualifications for the perfect man--some logical, some hilariously funny, some racy. Within days, their tongue-in-cheek wish list of attributes for Mr. Perfect has been leaked to the press and the resultant publicity is overwhelming. Coworkers, TV crews, and reporters barrage the quartet with comments and criticism.
As if Jaine doesn't have enough to cope with, she has a new neighbor who she suspects is a criminal. She's relieved to learn that her neighbor is really an undercover cop, but she's still wary--because smart, sexy Sam Donovan handles her sharp witticisms with easy humor, and Jaine suspects that he may threaten her heart. What Jaine doesn't know is that she's about to need Sam desperately for something other than romance because her circle of friends is in big trouble. Unfortunately, that list of qualifications for Mr. Perfect has touched off a madman's rage. All of their lives are threatened and some of them are going to die, maybe all of them, if Sam can't stop the unknown killer.
Mr. Perfect brings to readers the quintessential Linda Howard hero, whose straightforward, "me Tarzan, you Jane" attitude plays well with a smart, witty heroine. The rapid-fire dialogue between the two is downright hilarious at times, even when the two are about to steam up the windows and burn up the sheets. It's difficult to balance this kind of humor and sensuality with edgy suspense, but Howard manages it with aplomb.

Reading schedule:
The book is about 400 pages so it's a nice easy 100 pages per week if you want to do it fast. If not, speak now or forever keep reading. I'll keep the chapter breakdowns tonight but for now....
Week 1: pages 1-100 Week 2: pages 101-201 Week 3: pages 202-302 Week 4: pages 303-400+
Week 1 Questions:
- have you ever read anything by Linda Howard before? If so, what and how did you enjoy it?
- did the premise of the book get you excited about reading or was it just so-so for you?
- how did you like the first chapter? Did you want to keep reading or did you find the authors style not to your liking?
- is it a fast read for you or are you forcing yourself to move through it?
- who is your favorite character so far and why do you like them above the others?

OK so this hasn't yet gotten off the ground. I'm really busy with work right now and I'll be taking vacation part of next week so I won't be around.
If ya'll want to go ahead and start reading and just post your thoughts go for it!
If you want to wait .. that's cool too.

Where on earth did this month go? It's absolutely insane ...
Anyway, I haven't read it .. in fact I returned it to the library.
If ya'll want to read/discuss, please feel free to do so but I'm so busy that I just don't have time right now.
